Jack's Country Store in Ocean Park is a classic merchantile. It is well stocked with assorted merch like kitchen utensils galore especially cast iron and pickling/canning gear, nice finds for the kiddos, hardware selection, unique nostalgic souvenirs, and a grocery store all housed under one roof. It was fun wandering the aisles, even bought a jar of Jack's Country Store strawberry jam. Big smiles at the checkout stand. read more

A historic landmark where one can get groceries, garden supplies, paint, and hardware supplies. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable, there to help however you can. And after shopping, you can drive across the street to fill your car with gas. Jack's is a cornerstone of our community. read more

This is a local store to me. The folks that worked there are very polite and helpful. They are well stocked. They don't have a huge array of produce, but what they have is always fresh. They have the best apples. I really enjoy shopping at the store and it's great for a local store. read more

This store has been in operation for some time. I don't hunt and have not fished since childhood, but I would welcome this store in my city neighborhood! The store is large for Long Beach. The grocery store is solid. It's comparable to any city grocery but better. Beyond grocery they have a hardware store similar to any in a big city as well as being tuned to Long Beach vacation homes. I'm not an expert on hunting or fishing. For fishing they have a variety of scents for lures. Of course they have the clam trappers. I would recommend visiting this store for your needs, and beyond that it is as interesting as many of Long Beach tourist attractions to just browse. read more

I read a review about shopping while being a person of color and was a bit apprehensive as a solo shopper and a woman of color. However... Brian was super sweet. I happened to be purchasing an item that reminded him of a special person in his life and we had a nice conversation. He was a delight though I can't say the same for the rest of the folks on staff. They were not very welcoming or friendly. Beside that point, the store has everything you need and more. I wanted to explore more aisle but was there for a quick pick up for a toothbrush. Expect small town prices. If you need anything while in Ocean Park, this is the grocery to choose. read more

If you picture a general store in your mind, this is it. If you can dream of an item, Jack's probably had it. All things considered - location, population, beach town - the prices were reasonable. Our groceries were a little spendy compared to big box stores in the greater metro, but not bad at all. I found the staff to be friendly, homey people who were locals and cared about the place they worked for. We stopped here several times for groceries on our trip and would recommend it. read more

Didn't get to go through the whole store as we had people waiting, but man, it was VAST! Pretty sure if you need something you've forgotten, they will have it. They seem to also have a pretty nice selection of food and snacks. Even have thinks you haven't thought of in a while, like meltaways. Has an old country store meets the backrooms feel, in a good way. If you're in the area, check it out. read more

Best gas prices on the peninsula. Best place on the peninsula for produce because the prices are unmatched. If you want good apples, salad, vegetables, bananas, potatoes, at a good price go here. I've never met a rude staff member here and everyone is helpful and accommodating. read more

If shopping for groceries, I recommend going to the other grocery store. This has limited items or sell out (on busy weekends). Granted, they do have great items for clamming and misc items. The checkout line seems to take a very long time and people will cut in if you are leaving space for customers to go through near the registers without the cashiers paying attention. It's not a terrible store, just could use some improvements. x ........ .. . read more

We have loved Jack's for over 20 years. We are part timers to Ocean Park. We go to Jack's for regular shopping, getting ready for a BBQ or just a plain munchies run. Friendly service and a great old skool ambiance await you. Whatever they don't have you can live without. read more

Long overdue update - Now that we own property literally blocks away, we visit Jacks frequently. Everything still holds; this is a tremendous general store. I dont know how the inventory control person does it, amazing amount of stocked items. Hardware, electrical, plumbing, garden tools, fishing/crabbing/clamming gear, etc. Helpful friendly employees. They even have a reasonable 'garbage service' - for a fee you can drop off a bag of garbage - great alternative to 'pickup service' for folks with little refuse - we use it. One complaint - the 'Beach Bonus' program for gas discount. They dont use phone numbers, so you HAVE to have your card, royal PITA. And to USE the bonus, you cant use the 'little' card on your key ring, you need the full size card. Another minor complaint - they only carry 'Jolly Roger' oysters - and JR oyster sorters have no idea how to sort, the 'extra small' oysters are huge (large size) compared to other local producers like Ekone or Goose Point. Original review follows ================================ Even if I'm staying in Long Beach, I will drive out here for the EXPERIENCE. Love this well-run, true one-stop-shop mercantile. Found stuff here I couldnt get at Lowes. LOL. And bonus, they dont take advantage of you on price here, sure things are a little spendier than conventional stores like fred meyer/home depot. Amazing inventory they must have superman for inventory control person so many items. Love love love this store. read more

Always friendly service here - we love stopping here for our beach snacks :) prices are kind of insane at the beach but we usually can find a few decent priced goodies. read more

Me and my family come to jacks every time we visit Long Beach. Because jacks has everything from hardware To food to self care, they have it. Would Recommend if you're staying in Long Beach for vacation and have children. They have a great toys selection. 10/10 read more

At first I was not sure about this place but once I walked around and looked at everything I realize the store is kind of amazing because they have basically everything you could need in this town all under one roof. I just have to make a note that they have really good coffee at their coffee bar which is probably what got them from a 4 to 5 star with me to be honest and also the employees are really nice. If you're in Ocean Park come check out the store I think you'll find it interesting quirky fun and get what you need here read more

The selection at this store is really worth checking out. I'm from Montana and was thrilled to find Twin Bings here. I make special trips to this store to buy them since this is the only place west of Idaho that I can find them. The tea selection is also very good. They have pretty much anything you would need while at the beach and the employees have always been friendly and helpful. We love this place. read more

This multi-functional store had everything we needed for our stay in Long Beach. All the clamming equipment, licenses and groceries we needed for our three night stay. The Chevron gas station also had the cheapest prices for fuel. read more

This is a large store and has so much in it! It did get confusing at times because it's so large and has many different configurations within. They have a good variety of food and next time I visit the area I'll probably just do my shopping here. There are lots of supplies for the beach, picnics, and outdoors. They have a big hardware area that looks like it has most of what you'd want. There is also a home goods section that has lots of options. read more

I actually really like this cute store. They have pretty much everything. Prices were decent and the cashiers were pleasant. The ice cream sandwiches, I can't remember the brand, were really good. Lines to check out were efficient. Seriously no complaints about this place. If we staycation in the area again, I'll be going back. read more

Who needs Home Depot when you have Jacks! Find anything you need at this classic general merchandise store. With a good ole days feel, as I wandered the aisles not less than three employees asked to provide me with full site customer service. Friendly staff and amazing assortment of anything you need. I am a local and I visit the store often. It is good for things like hardware and fresh oysters, but don't expect a lot. 1. Prices are too high, even considering the location. 2. They have only large shopping carts and the aisles are a little tight. 3. The staff is almost always unfriendly. 4. They won't bag your things if you bring your own bags. 5. Produce quality is poor. 6. The store is kind of dirty. read more

Knowledgeable employees. If they don't have it, you don't need it. This business is a must for the Long Beach Peninsula community.

This was the best store around we shopped here 3 out of 4 days. They had decent prices - most everything we needed and good helpful staff

Sadly we have to give Jacks a not so good review. We price checked our groceries because the final bill was so high and they are charging double the retail on most items. Come on now Jacks, that's not fair. read more

People of color beware. This store is BAD vibes. Both customers and workers. It's disgusting to feel stared at and even mistreated by employees. It's a stereotypical little country store in a town of 99% white population. They over-charged my partner for garbage service then blatantly lied to my face about it. "Yeal" at the service desk lied to the other supervisor about the size of garbage bag my boyfriend brought to throw away. Super bad vibes. AVOID completely if you can. The Oakie's Thriftway right around the corner has produce, MUCH better prices for everything and they even let us throw a bag of garbage away when Jack's was closed the other night. Oh how we love Jack's, let me count the ways. So many good things. They always have snacks and food for our weekend getaways, plenty of beer and water, a decent produce and meat section, and beaucoup candy. Dog toys and dog supplies, hardware, toys, etc etc. You get the idea. Truly is a general store. We like the staff, they're great and will give you directions or suggestions on things to visit. read more

They descriminante against people who have medical exemptions for not wearing masks. They didn't have an option for curbside assistance. Won't come here again. read more

I could spend a long time here browsing. It feels like a combination old time hardware store melded with a camper"s grocery. They had eggs and bulk, ground cracker meal...what you need to cook your razor clams. There is no Fred Myers or Vons on Washington's Long Beach Peninsula so you may find yourself coming here for supplies. I know I'll be back. read more

It's amazing how one employee Can make or break a store. It only takes 1 non caring person. I had to evacuate because of the fires in Molalla Oregon. I had to leave my rented wheelchair behind to make Room for all my animals. I could not walk on my broken ankle. I didn't know how I was going to get food. I called Jack's who ever answered the phone Just said NO we do not do deliveries Said they were too busy to get me the number of someone ,and hung up. I didn't know what I was going to do. I called okies and thankfully someone there was caring enough to help. They got me the phone number of someone who did deliveries. read more

If you imagine an old fashioned mercantile on steroids, you have imagined Jack's. This place is huge and has an amazing selection of just about everything one could ever possibly need, want, or dream of. It just goes on and on and on... A modest grocery selection with fresh produce is overshadowed with one of the biggest and best selections of hardware and tools that I have ever seen. Employees are very knowledgeable and helpful and go the extra mile, which in terms of customer service, one can be lucky to have anyone go an extra millimetre in many places anymore lately. This is the perfect spot to grab anything without having to drive into a larger area. To say that you "shop" here is an understatement. One more has to "experience" here to fully appreciate all that Jacks has to offer. Cool selection of old fashioned retro toys and games, books, kitchen gadgets, sweet temptations, seasonal goods, decor items (tin signs, Americana, etc.), you just have to come and see it all. They offer an awesome catalogue as well, and run a weekly ad (can be emailed to you) with specials for locals. This place overloads my Attention Deficit Laden Brain!!! Have a search party on stand-by if you are easily distracted. Give yourself lots of time to really wander about and check every little nook and cranny of the store too. read more

I LOVE country stores... so much to look at and stuff you just can't get at the grocery store. To me these stores are practical and usefull, not touristy so I really do love them. They have everything one might need when going "to town" groceries, toys, candy, crab traps, tools, cooking supplies, etc. Their prices were very good I thought. My bro said that if things don't sell and are sitting on the shelf a while they don't mark up the prices so bargains are to be found. Their old time candy selection excited by kids and the prices were cheaper than the stores in Long Beach fo sho! Fun place I hope I get to go back! read more

Jack's is as much a destination as a general store. I'm pretty sure there is one of everything ever made somewhere inside. We ended up with wine, thick socks, a fabulous wooden spoon and wicks for Aladdin lamps. There's a mess of groceries and everything else one would need for a weekend trip. Nice folks on staff and even with everything inside, the store was spotless. I'm not saying Jack's is the sole reason to come up to Ocean Park, as the beach is just too much fun to miss. But if you're up here, it's a bit like a treasure-trove and a scavenger-hunt, all under one roof. read more

One of those amazing, authentic "general stores" from a time when a single store had to carry everything from groceries to fabric to hardware. What's great about Jack's is that it works on two levels: it's a great store for getting what you need on a vacation, AND it's a fun store to indulge your nostalgia for products that are hard to find anywhere else. From Moxie soda to Idaho Spud candy bars to sarsaparilla extract, Jack's is simply an amazing place to enjoy. read more
