Jack's Brasserie
This little bar and restaurant must have one of the best locations in Bristol, tucked just out of the way of the busy part of the waterfront, right on the edge of the river. In the summer, it's the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy a cool pint outside in the sun. One thing to bear in mind is that it's actually pretty posh. I turned up on one such summer's day and felt a little underdressed compared to the rest of the clientele. The drinks are expensive here, but you get a proper feeling of class - the beers are served in those posh, European glasses - and it's worth it for the great location. It's apparently also very popular at Christmas time for meals, though I haven't eaten here so I couldn't comment on the food. All in all, it's a decent place to come once in a while for a treat. read more
