Chen's has become my go to place for Chinese food. All the standard food that we love. The best deal is their combination plate, your choice of meat, fried rice or lo mein, and an egg roll for about $8. I will be back.

Customer Service is HORRIBLE !!!!! Place is cluttered inside looks like they live inside the restaurant.... however the food was good and if I'm on this side of town I would come back ..I wouldn't make a special trip ...prices are reasonable I would love to see them clean the place up inside...

I reactivated my yelp account just to leave a review. I am shocked to see one star rated here. This is my go to chinese restaurant. Although we don't live nearby, my wife and I always order takeout when we visit our friends less than a mile away. I wish Jackie Chen was in Virginia Beach. Ive spent 3 years in Asia and this place reminds me of one of the hundreds of chinese takeouts in Hong Kong. If you're looking for the real deal, this is the place.

Curry Shrimp with onions and Broccoli... Delicious!!! Spicy with A LOT of flavor!

The last experience we had was absolutely amazing. From the service to the food. All around great…read moreexperience. This time, not so much. My family and I (5 people) came in to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday dinner and there was nobody but us in the restaurant. The first thing I noticed was the server. He was dressed in jeans, hooded sweatshirt, a beanie and had a toothpick in his mouth. A bit out of the ordinary but to each their own for proper attire in what I would deem a upscale-ish restaurant. The real issue was him taking our order, seemed rushed. As we were deliberating and figuring out what we wanted. My girlfriend was talking about the scallion bubble pancakes. He came over and said, "I overheard you said the scallion pancakes, did you want to put in that order?" My girlfriend said no, she wanted everything to come out all at once. He said ok and then we walked off. Next thing we know, the pancakes came out WAY ahead of everything else we ordered. By like 15 minutes at least. When my girlfriend said something about it, the waiter said, he said outright " I never heard her say not to order them, she never said anything, and they are out right now". No apology, no I'll go ahead and fix that...nothing. When we we on the way out, we talked to the owner about the experience and the only thing he mentioned was that, the server was new and it's hard to find good employees because they revolve so quickly. Which wasn't really an answer at all. It was definitely a 180 degree turn from the first experience we had here which was 5 stars all around. I think given the experience, we unfortunately won't be coming back

Overall I would say not the best experience. First, the food was more of a take out Chinese style,…read morebut then was very pricey for what it is worth. We wanted to get the egg rolls as I was craving it, but they said they do not have it despite being on the menu. That was a little disappointing. I got the 6 steamed dumpling, and when my husband chewed down there was bone chunks in the dumpling. We got the sesame chicken which mostly tasted like orange chicken with a little more soy sauce and a little less orange. It was tasty, but again the price for what it was did not match. The honey roasted duck was tasty with a savory thick sauce to dip. We got white rice with our dishes. My husband asked for chopsticks, and there were none which was surprising. The fortune cookie at the end was stale, and my fortune was kind of a hilarious demand to be vegetarian/vegan. The service was decent. The ambiance lighting was very red in color, making it feel dark on the inside. It is awkwardly quiet with loud clinking. One of the light fixtures was broken. Overall, food was just okay, and the pricing did not feel appropriate for what was served.

Ambiance- red lights make it hard to see your friends and loved ones. Hard to take a picture. All the regulars just stare at us while we were eating? There was also a broken lamp. Like shards were gone from the bottom so if you stand up it's a recipe for disaster. There was also no Asian people eating there? Service- less than great. No chopsticks at a Chinese restaurant. They want us to get our food pay our check and go Food- expensive. 88 dollars for three takeout dishes. I found myself yelling when I saw the price for crab rangoons was 13 dollars. Dumplings- 14 dollars for 6 small dumplings. I ate bone shards as well. Meat didn't really taste anything as well as the sauce. Sesame Chicken- served with a small cup of rice. Actually tasted more like orange chicken... felt like less than a normal serving in a takeout restaurant. 24 dollars??? Honey roasted duck- best dish. Juicy. Salty. Crispy. Sauce could use some work. Didnt really taste honey sweet. They didn't even have egg rolls even though they were in the menu. The more I think about this place the sadder my day gets. Finally , the fortune cookie was stale....

I've only been to the Chesapeake location, and I love their food, so this was my first time trying the food at the VB location. I was quickly greeted as soon as I walked in and was seated right away. I loved the clean and modern decor of the restaurant. My server was super friendly and brought over the menu. I knew I wanted the Wonton in Hot Chili Oil but I also wanted to try the Dan-Dan Noodles here, because I wasn't a fan of them at the other location, so I ordered both of those along with Salt & Peppered Prawns. The food was served fairly quickly. I started with the Wontons but there was something in the chili oil that made my mouth extremely tingly and numb. I normally get a slight tingly feeling when I eat them but this was intense. I couldn't even finish it. The Dan-Dan Noodles were incredible though! They had the perfect amount of flavor and spice. The Salt & Peppered Prawns were good, but I probably won't order them again. The flavors were great but the seasoning is only on the shells. I found myself rubbing the de-shelled shrimp on the seasoned shells to give them some flavor. I did attempt to eat them with the shells on but I wasn't a fan. You really can't go wrong at Judy's! The staff were incredible and the food is good!!! I still prefer the Chesapeake location but I'm glad I was able to stop in and try the food out at this location as well.
