He saw my toe nail and scheduled me for surgery two weeks later. Actually worked out great since I'm not leaving the house with "shelter in place." I was really nervous and anxious about getting my toe nail removed. Dr. Cohen assured me that I would not feel a thing and asked how easy it was for my teeth to get numb at the dentist. I responded with not easy, I always have to tell them "I can still feel it!" He made sure my toe was extra numb. And I didn't feel a thing! He checked on me continuously during the procedure, making sure I was okay. And had me come back every couple of days to assure that the healing process was going well. I felt taken care of and had nothing to worry about. Dr. Cohen and I really built a rapport and at appointments felt like I was hanging out with an Uncle or family member. I will definitely refer others to him and go back if I have any other feet issues!

After a few years of on an on the job injury and surgery, Woodcox flipped on me cruelly, and…read moredropped me as a patient due to heartless Maria, the domineering racist medical assistant who runs the office, and him. I had simply asked to speak to him of an unfortunate morning appt experience where me and another guy-both over 70, who had 10:30 and 10:45 appts, were made to wait while an 11:00 young hispanic man was taken in before us. Woodcox would not even apologize. The 10:30 guy paced back and forth before the recept window and Maria said she "sees him". BTW: we had to listen to her when a hispanic guy came out from his appt and for 10 min she berated him for never learning to speak Spanish. Not office etiquette. When Maria found out that I spoke privately to Woodcox about appt times, she flew into a judgmental rage at me, went into his room and when the two came out she would not make another appt for me but instead said coldly to call her when I got home. It wasn't clear to me at first as she was being vague, sneaky, manipulative that she had gotten Woodcox to drop me as a patient just because I advocated for myself. To do this over such a small issue, the way in which he did it, and to a senior disabled citizen with a workers comp case, ruins my case. There was no care at all for my life and how they were affecting it. He should know better how to end an OWCP case for a person with a partially disabled foot/ankle to get settlement but did not care and just had me hanging on each month coming in so he could collect payment. Now he only sees patients one day a week and paid to be a QME so he has his income set. I should have had partial foot loss settlement, but without his recommendation and exam for that I cant. No matter how many like him, this is also how he is. He really doesn't care about people though he puts on a good act for the money. Too hard to find another OWCP dr for long term injury. Very cruel guy and staff. When they do wrong they turn it on patient.

Let me tell you she is a piece of work, being from New York and having all the attitude. I was afraid of what she would say to this doctor and in fact was told never to return to another doctor's office. I made the appointment with Dr. Jann directly squeezing her into his schedule since I told him that she had several extremely painful toes. Got to the office early, this doctor shows up at the door on the dot, he says he was at a housecall( is that still done these days?). My mom goes right into the exam room and starts going off on the doctor for not showing up early, he doesn't even get defensive. His response, that he always gives everyone their time and his attention to their concerns to be sure they leave the office in better shape than they arrived was great. He also asked her, that in all the years of going to doctors, "why has she not learned that doctors are usually late and never early for their appointments?" Anyways, he diagnosed her with extreme fungal toenails, worn out old shoes, and extremely damp feet. Then he cut down all the toenails, told us how to take care our feet daily, and told us come back in about 3 months. My very difficult to deal with mother was taken care of better than I had expected. I definitely feel this guy has the knack and is able to put even the most difficult person at ease. My mom now tells all her friends that she has the best foot doctor.

Having observed the doctor's approach, it seemed that the emphasis was on asserting authority rather than delivering suitable medical attention. Following the operation, the condition of my cousin's foot wound and infection deteriorated under the doctor's care at Atherton Park Post Acute and Belmont Healthcare Center. I will not give him a good review because, after witnessing his style of care for my cousin, I saw a doctor who lies and manipulates care by insisting that he is always right. After his operation, he did not support my cousin's care, which deteriorated. He likes to bewilder his patients with a rude demeanor and always does things in a negative tone and attitude, then tells his lies to his colleagues in front of the patient then he makes up stories about his patients and the nurses. He has to be the most arrogant person as a doctor. In which his words are untrustworthy.

He repaired all of this and my foot looks and feels great. I have an arch in this foot for the first time and almost no scarring. He had a very kind and gentle bedside manner. My recovery went well with very limited swelling based on the procedures he applied. I couldn't be happier with the results. I had this same surgery on my other foot twenty years prior and the surgery was so excruciating, it took me 20 years to even think about having it done again. The results on the first foot were not all that great either. I was referred to Dr. Widtfeldt by a coworker who had severe rheumatoid arthritis which began for her at the age of 3. Dr. Widtfeldt worked on both of her feet and this allowed her to wear normal shoes and walk with no pain. I highly recommend Dr. Widtfeldt to anyone who has issues with their feet.

Nonetheless, he gave a new (different) diagnosis and prescribed the only treatment that "would be 100% effective" in curing the problem. The drawback was that it was a very expensive medication and maybe not covered by insurance. Also one needed to use it every day for a year! Though more of a cosmetic problem, I was pleased to learn that my insurance would cover part of medication's cost (leaving me with a sizable deductible). Still, if it was the only remedy, I resolved to use it faithfully. Imagine my surprise to read the brochure that promised 17-20% effectiveness! Going to the pharmaceutical's website, the company's studies showed the same low rate. I don't think Dr. Dietz is even aware that this medication is hardly the "100% effective cure" he claimed. Now I'm going to a different podiatrist. The first thing he did was a lab test to be sure of the correct diagnosis. From this doctor, I've learned that this is a hard condition to cure and there's no simple solution. He presented me with five different options, all of them costly and perhaps also not guaranteed to work. Nonetheless, I felt much more informed and able to make a choice that I hope works for me.
