Whoever designed the drive-thru area for this Jack in the Box seriously lacks forethought and planning abilities. The drive-thru lane leading up to the ordering screen and subsequent window is extremely short. This results in the drive-thru line spilling out into either the parking lot, or the street. The problem with both is that if the line spills into the parking lot, it blocks incoming traffic coming from the street level, getting into the parking lot. As well as any traffic trying to get out of the lot from that direction. If the line spills into the street, it blocks street traffic from getting through. And I would imagine quite commonly, traffic comes from both directions, making it confusing who should go next, and who is cutting in front of who. They have quite a large parking lot, so it would not be difficult to block off and mark the directional flow of the drive-thru like most places do. Instead of making it a literal free-for-all. There was a slight mix-up in my order when I pulled up to the window. But thankfully, it was quickly resolved. The lot itself is very sizable, and there are plenty of trash cans available outside. I usually go to a different location but this time this one was closer. I walked into the store and the whole place smelled of BO it was a strong stench. I continued to order my regular which is the teriyaki bowl when I got home and opened my bowl I was surprised to see that the whole bowl only consisted one singular piece of chicken and little crumbs of chicken with minimal sauce. They also had no product like sauces and some menu items, very disappointing after a long day at work looking for something to eat. Giving them a 2 is being nice. My burger, fries, and small soda cost about $9.00 dollars. My burger was cold with a giant corner of lettuce. The fries were okay. I couldn't return it ( because I will) but there was a fight at the cash register that last for about 15 or more minutes. Jack In the Box....or Jack In the Crack as it's more affectionately known to some. It's really kinda....repetitive to do a review on a fast food place to be honest. Most reviews either are very similar or just so similar that people try and make them ellaborate but really are talking about the something. Well here is another review that is along those lines. So bare with me. Living on the westcoast, who hasn't really been to a Jack in the Box. I haven't personally met anyone who hasn't. Home of the disgustingly delicious tacos, 2 for a buck. Like after a night of drinking, these things are like having Kobe Beef with a Samurai and two Harijuku Girls in a Loft in Japan. Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I thought it sounded cool. The munchie meal for $6 bucks are pretty awesome, $8 after 5 am. A main course (one of the assorted burgers or nugget variations) the tacos and halfsies which are....Curly Fries and Regular. And who doesn't love one of the varied burgers with "Jack" in the name. My favorite happens to be the Sourdough Jack $4.99. I also like the fact that most Jack in the Box's and other restaurants are a great switching to those fountain drink machines that you can add your own flavor too. So peach spirit is an option....almost all the time. So to get off my randomness and back to this location. They keep it pretty clean, the lobby is always well kept. Sure some hobos like to hang here acting like they own the joint, but I usually ignore them. The restrooms are....not bad, but they are defiantly a hit or miss, I've had assorted experiences when it comes to them. The service here is decent, not over the top in my experience, but they always seem to give me my orders fresh, so I have no issues with that. Of course experiences vary. They seem to have a great formula going here that ensures they people get their food on time and get going. In conclusion, if you're in Pittsburg, this location is right off railroad. Right next to a car dealership and across the street from Mi Pueblo. Oh and the ever so backed up Highway 4 is inconveniently right there too. This location just got updated so it's current and hip! It's so sad to get all excited about going out to eat what was once the delicious and famous JACK IN THE BOX and find out that the quality of the food has decreased, and not only the food but the quality of service. Went in at night and the lady in front of me was having issues with her card, turned out to just be the register. So the lady on the register used the drive through register for her. Once it was my turn all the sudden the drive through was "too busy" for her to process my order using the drive through register so she turned down my order right after accepting hers. Love this Jack in the Box and I've never had any issues whatsoever in the past 5 years. I come a couple times a month and I prefer this Jack over the other ones. I ordered at the California Ave about maybe 5 times and 3 out of those 5 times I wasn't satisfied with my order ( something was missing, burger was overdone, small eggrolls, Shake was missing WHIP and cherry) . The Railroad one always get my order right. I get my sauces and my shakes and iced coffees are always perfect. They've been missing the cherry lately, but I know that's an issue at all Jacks... The main reason I am making this review is because Naomi, who works the drive thru is super nice, kind, welcoming and accommodating. She impacted my day with her kindness. Every single time we come here they screw up our order. So badly that now we sit in the drivethru and check before we leave. Today is the last straw literally. We are in a hurry so we go through the drivethru on our way to a graduation and they hand us our food and drinks. I check everything like normal and take a sip of the soda. It tastes terrible. I thought this doesn't even feel like it has ice in it. I opened the lid and yep no ice in either of our drinks. I said where's the ice? The cashier says "there was something in our ice Maxine and we are cleaning it out." She gives us a cup of ice through the window and we pull away I pour the original cup of coke over the ice and NO fizz is happening whatsoever. We pull around to front I hop out and go inside and they are in replacing the coke to the machine. So they intentionally gave me soda with no ice and didn't bother to tell me and knew there was an issue with the coke. Apparently they thought they could get away with this because we were gonna just drive away. That's happened way too many times so we no longer just drive away. This time it's for good. I told the lady what they did was unacceptable and she refunded me for the drinks. I do appreciate that. I don't have a problem with mistakes normally but I have a big problem with not communicating with your customers what's going on and offering to switch things out for something different. She could have said we have no ice from the beginning or she could have let me know the coke needed to be replaced.
