Refuses to do custom orders through food delivery app. I guess my food allergies don't matter. Who needs customer service anyway?

On a recent Sunday afternoon we were passing through Indianapolis looking for a place to have lunch that we don't have at home (Louisville) and I said to the wife, I said "Hey, can you see if there's a Jack in the Box we can have lunch at in Indi"?, to which she replied "That sounds good, let me check!". She found one right off if I-70, so I told my car to navigate me there (My car can do that) and in 10 minutes arrived at the Post Rd location. This location is right off of the expressway and it's very easy to find. It was about 1:30pm, so we fortunately missed the lunch rush. Before we even walked in I knew what I wanted, and that was those outstanding Jack in the Box tacos. We were second in line behind a small family, so that gave us enough time to look at the menu (although I didn't need to because: TACOS). As we stood there waiting to place our order with the cashier (notice that I said with a cashier and not on an impersonal freakin' kiosk like a boatload of other fast food eateries any more?) I saw a sign touting the Monster Taco, only available for a limited time? What's better than a Jack in the Box Taco? A Jack in the box MONSTER Taco! Yes, please, I'll take two! (for $3, by the way). Wifey had a burger or something...I was too busy being excited about getting Dem Tacos! The restaurant was clean and well-stocked when we arrived, aside from the drink station with, let's face it, is trashed in just about any fast food restaurant. The floors were clean, trash wasn't overflowing, and all the tables were clean. My wife's whatever-it-was burger was good (by her account). The Monster Tacos were very much worth taking a short detour off of I-65. I had the Angry Monster and the Regular Monster. The Angry Monster had a red taco shell and a spicier sauce..and I Liked It! The staff we encountered (cashier, primarily) was very nice and helpful. For the most part the staff was busy taking care of things, but during the 45 or so minutes of our stay, no one came out to take care of the dining room. Now that we know there's a Jack in the Box easily accessible during our trips to Ft Wayne and back...TACOS! read more

If you'd have told me that a Jack in the Box at 21st and Post Road in Indy would have become one of my better delivery experiences, I'd have laughed. But hey, here you go. If you've been following my reviews recently, you likely already know I'm dealing with some significant health challenges. While I've maintained my work schedule, profound exhaustion is a frequent companion and food delivery has become a necessity. I've been so grateful for friends who've chipped in a variety of gift cards and on days like today I use them to get food delivered rather than try to go out or even try to cook. I have to admit that my primary interest in Jack in the Box was to try out their berry-infused Red Bull energy drink. It's very similar to that offered by a nearby coffeeshop. However, with the option of also ordering food it became even more attractive. So, I ordered a Jumbo Burger, an order of onion rings, and that berry-infused energy drink via one of the delivery services. The price? Unreasonable, of course. However, that's not the fault of the restaurant. The food arrived on time. On multiple occasions recently, this delivery service has arrived without my drink. I was delighted that my drink arrived. Jack in the Box got everything right - everything I ordered arrived and was prepared exactly how I had ordered it including a special order on the burger. The exact dipping sauce I requested was received. Everything was perfect. The food? The burger was solid but not necessarily remarkable. The onion rings were a healthy-sized order and quite tasty. I loved the berry energy drink, though it was a tad smaller in size than I expected given the price point. However, it was quite tasty. This was a surprisingly positive experience. The order was prepared exactly as I requested and the food was tasty. This was a rather simple yet pleasing meal on a day when I just didn't have the energy to prepare one myself. While I don't get over to 21st and Post often, there's no denying now that I won't hesitate to stop in here and try it again. While I certainly won't call this a 5-star experience, it's a solid 4-star and one of the better delivery experiences I've had recently. read more

Then will get an attitude saying they out it in there when clearly your staring at your bag of egg rolls with no sauce even tho you've paid 3 dollars for extra!!! Every time I go to Chicago I stop at this Jack in the Box. I usually go with low expectations, but this time I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered Jumbo Jack meal with curly fries. When I got to the window they had a sign that said they have a new special Jack sauce. I asked the cashier if I could get one and he looked at me like a deer in the headlights and asked me to repeat my request. I did, and he replied by saying that they don't have any of the special Jack sauce. Seemed like a typical irritated teen so I just skipped the sauce. We pulled into the lot to eat our food and the burger was surprisingly fresh and tasty. The curly fries were a step above Arby's, which is saying something. While traveling yesterday, we stopped for gas, and noticed the JITB next door. We were intrigued, since they are not in Columbus. I checked out the online menu and saw a grilled chicken sandwich on sourdough. Hello. We had 3 adults and 4 kids, and they packaged each order separately, which helped a lot. All orders were correct. My sandwich was wonderful. The sourdough bun was perfectly matched with the chicken, lettuce, tomato and mayo. The fries were typical FF fries, meaning not bad, but not fresh cut. Everyone in the car chowed down and enjoyed their food. The kids loved their orange Fanta. Until next time, Jack. read more

We have no Jack in the Box where I live, so Jack in the Box is always a treat when we come here. Our first night in town we saw there were three locations in Indianapolis, so we picked this one first as one location closed at 11 PM and the other two stated 24 hour times. We got there, waited in the drive through line for a minute (all lights were open and there were employees in) and then waited 10 minutes for someone to come on the speaker. We were told that "due to shift change" that the restaurant was closed. Okay, that was an awesome waste of my time. So we went to the other one on W 38th St. that was listed as 24 hours. Takes about 20 minutes to get there. Again, lights are on, cars there. Get to the drive through speaker, and a voice comes on and says they're closed. No reason given, no apology. They're just closed. Absolutely ridiculous. So I come back the next night thinking surely that was a fluke, and guess what? THEY'RE CLOSED AGAIN. All the lights were on, there were people inside, and cars in the parking lot. Closed? Give me a break. So not once, not twice, but three times I attempted to get food and wasted my time at these restaurants. No signage up outside. Nothing. Don't waste your time going here, because apparently they don't know their own hours or even care to put signs up telling people that no one is working or their "system" is down. I was glad to see another location of JiTB in the Indianapolis area. The situation at this store was so different. At 5:59 P.M., there was only one person working the front counter, but there were a lot of people standing, doing nothing. The counter person was working on a milk shake but she interrupted that to hand someone their order and take mine, then finished the shake. I got a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, Value fries, and a sweetened iced tea. $3.91 seemed a bit much but the small drink, the tea, was 1.59. The tea was also hot, coming from the dispenser. I did something I don't normally do--I used ice, which of course, plopped tea onto the area with drinks, napkins, straws, and everything else. Oh, but it didn't matter as it was already covered with a multi-coloured mess that someone forgot to clean. I did see someone cleaning tables, so that was a plus. I sat down at a window-side bar with stools, which was thankfully out of the way of most of the craziness. The store is cramped. Oh, and when I set my drink down on my warped tray, it almost catapulted the fries! Well, almost. At the other JiTB on U.S. 31 South, I had eaten tacos before I got to my Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, so it wasn't hot. Since I was eating the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger first, it would be hot this time, right? Wrong. It was warm. The fries were fairly good but there were some old and new fries mixed, along with some curly fries. They tasted good. In fact, everything was good, even if the temperatures weren't. Oh, and who designed the parking lot? It's next to a BP station and convenience store, but you have to go through the convenience store lot to get to the JiTB lot. If there is a way from the side street, I would never have guessed that. I never ran into these problems at a JiTB out west, so was someone in Indiana changing the plans to make them fail? Update 2014.02.19: After my first visit, I wasn't thrilled to return. I saw a couple of 5 star reviews, one of which looked like a JiTB corporate office person talking up the place. The company is located in San Diego, CA. Regardless, I like JiTB and wanted to try this one again. The counter person was extremely friendly and outgoing, but as I had returned from the rest room, she was away, and I ordered using the self-serve kiosk. Once again, the food was luke warm. One time in my life, I've had hot food from JiTB--ONE. In any case, things are better but not enough for me to go out of my way. read more

I lived in Texas for 30 years so I was very excited to see a Jack in the Box right off the highway when I went to Indianapolis for the weekend. I couldn't wait to stop on the way back to Ohio. I got there about 9am Sunday morning. I placed a $93 carry out order and got a breakfast combo while we waited for them to prepare it. The girl who took my order was great. The order was perfect. The breakfast combo was great. They even gave me a JITB antenna ball. Five hours later and a few minutes in the air fryer and I was in Sourdough Jack heaven! Everything was spot on. Just like Texas. Everything is gone already. I got 3 sourdough jacks, one bacon ultimate cheeseburger, one ultimate cheeseburger, 2 jr bacon cheeseburgers, 3 egg rolls, 2 spicy chicken sandwiches, big meaty breakfast burrito combo and a breakfast jack. My family wishes we'd get one up here in NE Ohio. We need a new burger fast food chain up here in Trumbull or Mahoning County. Hint hint. read more

I received an email from Jack in the Box advertising pineapple shakes. I used my app to order a couple. Of course the app charges your credit card when you place the order. However when I arrived at the location I was told that the pineapple shakes were seasonal and they did not have the ingredients to make my shakes. No offer of different flavored shakes to replace the ones they couldn't make. When I asked about a refund since my credit card I was told to go through customer service on the app. I have filled out the customer service form twice now and have received no response from management. read more

Went through the drive through to get a meat lovers burrito and a Diet Coke. Placed my order and drove up to the window. Paid for my food and waited, when over the overhead speaker a loud Rap song come on. I looked back to see if it was someone in line behind me but there was no one there. The rapper repeated the N-word over and over and over again. I could see two African-Americans inside. After a few minutes it shut off and the girl came to the window and delivered my order.
