Extremely frustrating experience with Central Oahu Physical Therapy in Aiea…read more When Central Oahu Physical Therapy received my referral for lumbar pain, I waited an entire month just to begin treatment. I was scheduled for four weekly sessions, with my final appointment on 3/31/2026, where the physical therapist was supposed to evaluate whether I needed continued care. However, it makes no logical sense to have an evaluation when there are no further appointments available with the same physical therapist until May -- over a month away. This completely defeats the purpose of the evaluation and continuity of care. I spoke with the telephone receptionist, who also acts as the office manager. Her primary role is reception, yet she presented herself as if she were a decision maker. When I asked to have the owners call me, I was told to look them up on the website. She is not an owner and cannot make final decisions. The owners never called me. Instead, Physical Therapist Erin deNeeve Baum, an employee of Central Oahu Physical Therapy, called and left a message. I chose not to return the call because I did not want to speak with her. Oahu is a very small business community, and in a situation like this, a professional and concerned owner would have made a courtesy call. That did not happen. This office appears to have a serious breakdown in communication between the physical therapists and the front office. Rather than coordinated patient care, it feels like a system where patients are moved through a set number of visits without clear follow-through or continuity. It gives the impression that the focus is on bringing in more patients and generating revenue rather than providing effective, continuous care After four visits -- the first being mostly measurements and only three visits with minimal exercises -- I am still not better. Quite frankly, this was a waste of time. A friend shared exercises given by her own physical therapist that have been more helpful. Also, with today's technology, you would expect more modern patient support. Instead of printed paper exercise sheets, there should be access to a digital platform with guided videos and progress tracking. These types of exercises are easily found online, which makes the lack of added value from this office even more disappointing. If you are considering physical therapy, do your research and look elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution against choosing Central Oahu Physical Therapy. You may end up frustrated, delayed in your care, and no better off than when you started. Patients deserve far better.

We knew from the very beginning that this was going to be a long road to recovery, but he was finally able to "graduate" from PT in October 2025, a whole 11 months after his surgery. We are so thankful to Kyle and all the staff at SportsMedicine Aiea for everything they did for my son to help him gain his strength back in his knee. For a whole 11 months, we spent afternoons there 3 days a week, so it really did feel like family there. The front desk staff was always so friendly and helpful and my son had nothing but nice and positive things to say about the therapists there. It was a bittersweet moment when Dr. Oishi told us he didn't have to go to PT anymore. It was great news to hear, but sad at the same time that we never got to say a proper goodbye to the staff at SportsMedicine. So thankful you Kyle and everyone at SportsMedicine, for everything you did to help in Elijah's recovery. We miss you guys, but we hope we never have to visit your clinic again soon

I went there for 3 months and was stuck at 80 degrees. The Doctor then recommended a manipulation under anesthesia and said I needed to go somewhere else for my therapy. I gave in and went to SportsMedicine where I should have gone in the beginning. I was assigned to Steven Tom a professional, knowledgeable, patient and very understanding physical therapist who treats everyone with respect. He had a genuine concern about my other health issues and always inquired on the status. At first I was slow and I resisted taking the initiative to become independent in my routines. Steven and the other therapist steered me towards independent exercises and take ownership for my recover. They all provided me with excellent support and encouragement to move forward. It is a busy place and you might think that you are entirely on you own in your task however, if you are not doing your routines correctly or are hesitant one of the therapist will come over to assist and help with necessary corrective action. They may be busy but they all are aware of what is going on with everyone. The front office have been very accommodating, professional and friendly. I do not want to have this kind of surgery again but if needed I would not hesitate to come here again. Thank Steven and staff.

She really listens well and cares for you as a patient. She takes detailed notes of your concerns and she asks questions so that she can better support you. Nicole is super polite, encouraging, professional, and smart. She not only wants to help her patients, but she wants to educate them. I'm very impressed at how good she is at her job. When we have our sessions, I learn so much from her and I leave feeling less in pain. Her bed side manner is very good and I truly feel like we are friends! We share experiences and advice for one another and I enjoy talking story with her. I can't say enough about how thankful I am to have Nicole as my PT. Office staff is helpful and friendly as well.

The quality of care was awesome, they do seem to care and want to do a good job working on you and do seem to want to have you get better. They aren't very good at following up on you or remembering you or getting back to you. I had to call to remind them to send me instructions when they couldn't send it during the session and it took a week after several follow ups to get it.

ASK YOU DOCTOR TO REFER YOU TO ATTA REHAB FOR YOUR PHYSICAL THERAPY NEEDS! You will not regret it…read more Lindsey at the front desk greets you with the most welcoming smiles (and is the best when it comes to rescheduling and trying to fit you in last minute - shout out to all the times you were able to find me appointments to fit my schedule!) and Codie Conching is the friendliest, highly trained physical therapist I've ever had the pleasure of working with. When my doctor originally referred me to PT, it was not to this office (the original referral took months to call me to schedule an intake appt). After no response to me or my doctor, she referred me to Atta Rehab. Within the day my intake appt was scheduled with Codie. I came into the office one year post foot surgery, with limited mobility in my toes and an abnormal-to-me walking gait. As someone who loves being active, this past year was rough on my body and soul trying to navigate new pains and limitations I've never experienced before. I was starting to fear I would never be back to my pre-surgery activity levels, but after 4 months of constant therapy under the attentive care of Codie, I finally have hope again that I can get back to my active pre-surgery self. I am forever grateful Codie took on my unique PT case. It was not a typical surgery, but she handled it with ease. She walked me through each exercise in the office, and we developed home PT plans for me to work on between sessions. Each session she held me accountable for my "homework" and would edit to accommodate improvements and setbacks, steering me towards major gait and mobility improvements. After 4 months of consistent PT, I am blown away by the progress Codie and I were able to make in my recovery. I finally feel freed from my pain and limitations I walked into the office with that first day. Even though it was a slow progression, Codie was my biggest cheerleader to help push me to where I am today. I am constantly recommending her to family and friends who complain to me about various aches and pains, because I know first hand how dedicated and talented she is! And the offices at the practice are very clean & comfortable, adding to an all around 10/10 experience. You can't go wrong at Atta Rehab!
