We found ourselves in need of movers to take some very heavy furniture from my dad's home to storage. We had a very tight time frame to accomplish this. We were referred to them by several friends, including a realtor. We went to their office and the office staff was super helpful in helping schedule our move the following week. The 2 gentleman showed up on time, were extremely polite and thorough. They went through paper work quickly and efficiently and walked through the house with us, detailing what they would be doing. In 3 hours the truck was full, unloaded into our storage and organized. No breakage or damage to our items. I would highly recommend them if you are moving. read more

My wife and I employed Jeff and Jack Transfer ("JJT") of Visalia, CA to move our household goods from our Exeter, CA home and to enter them into storage, anticipating a duration (for an overseas assignment) of several years. After our return to the United States we relocated to Arizona in April, 2020. During the nearly 5 years when our material was in storage, we paid JJT in full, regularly, by direct payment. Not all our belongings were properly received in Arizona, however. Three landscaping tools of significant value were stolen while are things were in the custody of JJT. Two of these are clearly shown (by JJT's own documentation) to be missing, even at the point of entry into their warehouse in 2015! The third piece - which was essentially the base component for all three - was actually replaced by an inferior, non-operative tool; clearly, this was a deliberate attempt to hide the fact that the tool was stolen. Nevertheless, in addition to JJT's documentation, I have fortunately retained clear documentation of all three tools and their original purchase. I calmly called JJT to explain the situation. They were initially sympathetic - and promptly provided me with a claim form template. I provided JJT with all the requested details, including the discrepancy in the documentation, the evidence of what was previously owned by me, and the picture of what we instead received. (In addition, it was clear from JJT's warehouse documentation itself that the other two tool items were completely missing.) Based on fair market value of replacing these tools, I fully and properly documented the loss claim and requested reimbursement from JJT in the amount of $367 - submitted electronically to JJT on May 29, 2020. All requested backup information was also submitted at the same time. JJT confirmed receipt in full of these materials a few days later, and that everything needed had been properly included and submitted. Their representative stated that everything was in order and would be properly processed expeditiously. Four weeks then passed without receiving or hearing anything; I again wrote to JJT. I was assured that full reimbursement had been sent out much earlier, and that "there must be a problem with the mail". (We live in greater Phoenix and have had absolutely no problem with the US Mail otherwise.) The JJT representative further indicated that she would personally "...issue the new one [check] tomorrow" on July 2, 2020. I am quoting directly from the archive of emails that I have fully retained. Obviously, these three assurances were misleading and insincere. Now a full 100 days after the incomplete shipment arrived, and two months after the claim was fully submitted and acknowledged, and after three email assurances by JJT's representative, nothing has been received. I wrote to JJT once more (fourth time) to plead for fair handling on July 14, 2020 - two weeks after the statement that a check was being sent out the next day - but this time my request was simply ignored. Clearly, JJT is not only deceptive in its practices, but also insincere and misleading in their business communications. Although it shouldn't matter, the other frustrating component is the very small size of our legitimate claim relative to what we have paid JJT over the years - well over $10,000, always in full and on time. We paid for the moves immediately and in full, treating the movers on both ends generously as well. They could not have asked for a better customer. Nevertheless, they refuse to take responsibility for the theft of our tools in their custody, and in essence have bilked us out of $367. On top of their dishonesty, this is simply bad business. It is immensely frustrating to be treated in this way. I sincerely hope to help other consumers avoid this same experience. I respectfully recommend that you exercise their choices wisely - including simply avoiding Jeff and Jack Transfer of Visalia altogether. We had an antique bed that was broken and parts separated. We had scratches and pieces broken off on our furniture. The furniture was not assembled properly. Boxes were not stacked, but thrown in the garage. We asked for the price for someone to fix the bed, but was denied because it was an antique. This was suppose to be an important move for us with no problems, but turned out to be a disaster. We do NOT recommend this business. read more

We used their service for unloading our 24-foot moving truck into our new house. The two guys were on-time, courteous, respectful of us, our things and our new home. Most importantly, they were extremely knowledgeable about the best ways to move big pieces of furniture. No damage to our furniture from them. I will definitely use them again, and highly recommend their company. The pricing was competitive also, and they were fast! The minimum time is two hours, and they finished with time to spare, so we had them move boxes into their respective rooms to take up some more of the two hour minimum. read more

Had Jack & Jeff Transfer help us with a move four years ago from Visalia to Oakland. They did such a good job, we had them help with us again for our move from Oakland to Morro Bay. Joe and Thomas were the crew that did the last move and they were amazing. They were extremely courteous and very attentive to our wants and desires. They showed up early to load the house which was greatly appreciated as it was a big job. They took extra care with our heirloom and special furniture to ensure that it made the trip successfully. They stayed on the job working continuously until the job was done. I don't think they would have taken a break had we not stopped them to eat when we provided lunch. The same care and attention was demonstrated on the delivery of the goods as well. We asked if they could do a little extra moving of some things that were already here and they jumped right on it. They were really awesome! I can't say enough good things about how well they did. I highly recommend that you use Jack & Jeff to do your move. You will not be disappointed. read more

We have used Jack and Jeff Moving twice in the last 20 years, locally in California. Since we had a positive experience, we thought we would call them again and they were recommended to move a piano. We made an appointment for 4/24/18. They didn't show. We called and was told the appointment was 4/25/18. We had spoken to them 3 times before 4/25/18. We are moving a small amount of furniture and a piano 300 miles from our Visalia to the state of Nevada. We were finally told on 4/25/18 15 minutes before the appointment on 4/25/18, we can't move you because it is not over 800 out of state. The problem is the appointment was made at least 2 weeks ago and with 3 phone calls never mentioning this. We wasted over two weeks and we could have call someone else. Moving is a time sensitive thing and this makes our situation difficult. Don't call them. They could leave you in a bad situation. read more

Over the last 20 years they have handled half a dozen residential / office moves for me and I have never had a single issue. Jack and Jeff's movers receive zero stars from me. More than a year ago ( I've given them plenty of time to make things right) I hired them to move a stainless steel refrigerator in perfect condition , an outdoor fountain, and a washer and dryer. I was horrified to see their employees bring it the refrigerator without a towel or blanket to protect it from scratching. Of coarse there were more than 10 dings and scratches, including a scratch and a dent where the dolly strap went across the front. They also broke a chunk off the fountain and claimed it was already like that. Wrong! The fountain was weathered , but the part now exposed from the missing chunk was new. The person I bought these items from found the piece of the fountain in her flower beds and said they had a horrible time trying to get the refrigerator out of her house. They told her, " We aren't professional movers!" I called Monica at Jack and Jeffs immediately and sent her several photo's and videos the same day of the occurrence. She said it is their policy to make it right. I'm still waiting! I've called, emailed, and I've even gone to their office. Monica is magically never there. Another employee asked me what my claim number was. Apparently you file a claim for compensation . Something Monica failed to mention every time we talked. I filed a claim #1677,( if anyone there cares) in the spring of 2015. I guess I'm going to have to go to the better business bureau or court for compensation. read more

I contacted Jack and Jeff Transfer Company upon recommendation from another moving company when I said I needed to move an upright piano from Visalia, CA to Minden, NV. I was told at the time of the initial contact that there would be a charge for a minimum of 2,000 pounds since it is crossing state lines, so it would be advisable to have any furniture in the house also moved at the same time. I called at least 2 weeks ago and had an appointment at 9:30am on Tuesday, April 24 for someone to come to our home and give us an estimate of how much it would be based on the furniture and mileage. I had other appointments that morning, but I made certain I was home well before the scheduled appointment and my husband was home all morning. When it was 9:45 and no sign of anyone, I called to check. I was told that they had many appointments and would have to call me back. I waited until 10:00 am, and with no return call, I called back. This time, I was told the appointment was April 25. I know that the appointment was on April 24 because I wrote it on my calendar as I was on the phone. I had several other appointments today, so I asked that they come earlier, and we agreed to 9:00 am this morning. Apparently, there was a call to my cell phone at yesterday, but I did not get the message. At 8:45 am this morning, Jack and Jeff called and told me that they could not do the move. Their drivers cannot go out of state, and something was mentioned about not being able to do an interstate move under 800 miles. I guess you are out of luck if you move to Nevada or Oregon! This is unfortunate and I hope their recommendation for yet another mover in Hanford works. 28 years ago, I was pleased with Jack and Jeff when they moved my piano from the east side of Visalia to the west side of Visalia. I guess they should stick to local moves. read more

I have moved multiple times and this by far was the worst experience. They seemed organized, but many of our things did not arrive in 1 peice and they avoid you when confront them. I would use an alternate buisness. read more
