Not good at all. Service was terrible, food was bland. Minimum $12 if you pay by card, sign is on the cash register which you don't see until you leave. Was made to buy four dollars of soda so I could pay. read more

I was happy with this place. $12.99 for the buffet which includes your drink. Plenty to choose from, food was hot, everything I tried was good. Unfortunately they didn't have any crab legs on this buffet, but had plenty of shrimp dishes. Their seafood alfredo was excellent. It had shrimp and imitation crab meat in it. I opted to make mine a shrimp alfredo as I'm not crazy about imitation crab meat. I would recommend this place for sure. read more

I just got a to go box from the Buffet and it was disgusting. I actually had to spit the food out. It tasted spoiled and fishy and I didn't get any seafood!!! I couldn't even eat the egg roll so greasy and chewy!! I've never had Chinese this awful!!!! read more

Just don't. Go literally anywhere else. The guy doing sushi didn't change his gloves when he scooped the ice cream for me. Very expensive for cold not very good food. read more

Lunch was good enough and reasonably priced. Had much worse and much better. Clean and friendly service.

My family stopped in J.A.Buffet last night on the way home from Allentown. We are a family of 6 with 4 young boys; 6, 9, 11 and 12. With a larger family we are on a tight budget so all my boys know that we drink water when we go out to eat. Everything seemed fine until we received our bill for $78.00. I politely approached the front desk and asked if there was a mistake because we have children and all 6 of us ordered water. "Everyone pay same price". So again I asked about the drinks. "All drinks included. Pay same price". Now I was starting to loose my patience so I started to look around. There are no prices listed anywhere and no where does it mention drinks included or that everyone pays the say price. So I asked again about where it the prices are posted. "Its steak night. You first time here". Oh....so now its steak night. That would have been good to know before I went to pay my bill........maybe we would have ordered steak knowing my wife and I and all my kids were going to get charged for steak without eating steak. Here was the kicker. I politely told the lady "Well, I will never eat here again." She shrugged her shoulders and lifter her nose like she could care less. I was appalled. I guess they think that since their Buffet is right next to Cabelas and Rt 78 that people will just eat there and be unhappy and traffic will just keep coming in. I read the other reviews and they are very similar. This place is a scam and they should be ashamed to be called a restaurant. Everyone does not have to pay the same price because this family is going somewhere else next time. read more

From start to finish I was not impressed at all. In fact, I'm waiting to be turned over in pain and worshiping the porcelain God. Being a buffet, you would think there would be hits and misses. However, to miss on everything is just a mystery to me. From the over salted vegetables to the bland...well everything that didn't have salt...this place missed the mark. All the sushi was imitation crab meat and canned tuna; yes canned tuna. Just all rolled in a hastily fashion and thrown out. I spent $18.00 on a lunch that I could have spent anywhere else and not have the possibility of food poisoning. If I could give it below a one star I would but I'm generous. read more

I have been to this restraunt several times, there are a few things that are good, but the overall food and service is not very good. I would not recommend it. read more

TERRIBLE I say. Period. There was a lady in a gray dress who didn't trust us. My daughter is 9 almost Turning 10 and she's really tall. We saw on the bill that she was an adult. We told the person to change it bc she is 9 so they charged extra. But the lady in gray came over to the table and had a fight with my husband. She asked him "show me your daughter's ID" Just why???? She was really rude like she is really judging and she needs to watch her mouth next time. And what I'm happy is that there are others who didn't like the experience they had here. read more

me and my family stopped here for dinner. the food was cold and over cooked.the staff were less then polite. now I'm not going to say you'll leave with food poison, but you just might. read more

Have you ever eaten out of a dumpster? I never have either but I would rather eat week old food from a dumpster than eat the 2 week old garbage these fools are trying to pass off as Asian cuisine. Service was good food was absolutely terrible. The water tasted horrible too. Good day freaks read more

I've been here twice for lunch. Didn't have any idea what to expect, other reviews don't exactly agree. First time all fine. Enjoyable. You should not ever expect to love everything at any buffet. Also if you look for faults, you can find them. Good lunch, average price, above average selection. Breaded shrimp not overcooked or dry! Pierogies? An added plus, onions need some more saute time to caramelize. Second trip with girlfriend, scared of chinese food? Loved it! Will return. What's the deal with steak at night? Sounds like I should try it. Didn't see it on website or in other reviews. Twelve dollar credit card minimum. read more

Before I left for my PA trip, my friend recommended this place as a great place to grab dinner in the area and it did not disappoint at all (unlike some reviews here lead you to believe)! The Sushi bar was great, and my made-to-order steak was so juicy. My friend had oysters and she loved them. I'm so glad I got to check this place out and can't wait to come back again when I visit again! read more

My boyfriend loves Chinese buffets and this is one of the best I've been to! Great selection of dishes, the honey chicken was one of my favorites. read more

I've been coming to them since they were a smaller business up near Redners. I have always liked their food and still do and frequently get takeout from them, and eat in when i can. Can easily recommend them to anybody looking to eat out, or get take out. read more

I've eaten here a few times and while it's not terrible I don't find that they do anything particularly well. The sushi is decent, the Chinese food is below average and so is most of the American food. The service is usually good, the food hot or cold as expected but nothing "wow's" me...at all. I'm usually unsatisfied when I leave and there's always something that I don't like the look of and just avoid. read more

Please take my word for it. this place sucks! the selections is rediculous, what they did have was over cooked and dry. We also found a HAIR in our food when the waitress came over she said it was from a beard, wth i was with my daughter and we dont have beards. She said "it didnt come from us" the way we were treated was crazy. 2 females with a beard hair in the rice? right. 13.99 was a bust! read more

This was one of the worst buffets I have every had, the food was supposed that was supposed to be soggy was dry (SUSHI WAS VERY DRY!!!!!!) things that were supposed to be dry were soggy. As someone who eats a lot of food I can tell you I did not eat a lot food here because it was HORRIBLE. 10 out of 10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND... read more

So My family and I just ate here after a shopping trip to Cabelas. Dinner for four for $50 and I still feel like I was robbed. Walking in, the place looked pretty nice and clean, and the hostess sat us quickly and directed us to the buffet. So, to save you all a lengthy read, the food here is terrible. Generally I like buffets because you can try one of this and one of that, and after sampling most items available on the hot bar, I can say with confidence that this is the worst meal I have ever consumed. So, the chilled shrimp were unevenly cooked. I know, that makes me sound like a picky jerk, but literally of the 8 shrimp I had, 3 were still raw in the middle and 5 were cooked until they were mush. The seafood stuffed mushrooms were appalling, they must have put clam or something in them that was full of grit, and of the three types of chicken I tried, they were all over cooked and tough. Even the soda was completely flat. Avoid this place like the plague, you have been warned! read more

Cold dried out food. When I told the manager the mandarin oranges were rancid he began to yell and call my son a liar. He said we were just trying to not pay. He called the police. We left the full plates of food on the table because it was inedible. Waited for the police to come and basically we were told that the owners considered it stealing if we put the food on our plate. It was an embarrassing experience and completely unnecessary for the police to be called. So I ended up paying $14 for food that could not be eaten. DON'T EAT HERE!! Very rude and unprofessional! read more

Worst ever absolute trash, rude ass manager. I think the took the food from a dumpster at another location and heated it up here. If I don't get the squirts from this it will be a miracle!!! read more

Worst Chinese buffet I've ever eaten at. Most of the traditional Chinese food taste different in a bad way. Seems like they just hurry up and throw things together. It will be my last time eating there for sure. read more

Too many times to count I've order vegetable lo mein and there are barely any vegetables, only noodles. And way too often it tastes like it's been warned up for two days and is NOT fresh. For the price they charge they can afford to add some actual vegetables to their vegetable lo mein. They charge way too much for the quality of the product they provide. read more

I will never visit this place again. I placed an order so my husband picked it up after a long hard day at work. I got the beef and broccoli. Ugg what a huge disappointment. The beef was so slimy, rubbery. Just horrible. We tried this place a few times over the years and it's worse every time. I should have never tried after the last time we were there. The bathrooms were bad. The food was disappointing. But this take out beef was horrible. I won't even give it the dogs. Never again read more

ZERO STARS. Worse Chinese food I ever ate. Stomach started to hurt after just a few bites. Stayed because we were hungry. Kept going up to get something different thinking it would taste ok and would actually be hot. Left hungry. Waste of time and money. read more

After having arrived at 3:10 for a Dinner buffet, our party of 4 was told the earlier arrivals could not eat anymore buffet. As it was now dinner, they had to eat and leave. And was told in a rude ,demanding and aggressive tone by the Owners wife. She kept berating a relative to the point of we all got up and departed. My wife and I did not eat our food because of insult but had two cokes so I paid $5 which I deemed as fair. She followed us to the parking lot and took pictures of the cars plate and called Tilden Township police! All of this because she could not understand ENGLISH to the point of conducting a curtious customer service. I eventually paid $27 dollars just to defuse this situation. I shall be contacting the BBB and the local magistrate. There are better buffets in Selinsgrove and Bloomsburg that are curtious and friendly and offer great food at a better price. Either conduct affairs using understandable English or sell with pictures and combo numbers! As I have heard from other business in the immediate area this is not the first time JA Buffet has been rude, eg allowing American Veterans in with Service animals! read more

I love Chinese food. I understand that most chinese food in this area, especially buffets are just frozen foods that they get off a truck from NY and they just heat it up. Well, this particular frozen Chinese food is absolutely disgusting. I had Chinese food from a Giant supermarket 10 years ago that was equally disgusting, but still not as bad as this stuff. I always wondered what the JA meant, maybe that's the sound you make when you're getting sick off of this rancid garbage. read more

Worst Chinese restaurant I was ever in. Everything was simply horrible EVEN THE WATER. I'm not a big soda fan, so I ordered water and it had the exact smell and taste as if someone ladled water out of a fish tank. I wouldn't doubt they lay their seafood on the ice to preserve it and use that same ice when they serve water. I don't even want to go into the food because everything was bad. Things that should be crisp were soggy, all seafood was fishy or slimy as if it had gone bad and there was simply nothing that was acceptable. No thanks, once was enough. read more

At work today, my partner at work and I decided to take our consumers to Ja buffet in Hamburg Pa for lunch. We take care of people with intellectual developments and disabilities for our job. Although the food was good the service was terrible. First off we were told to leave because they were beginning dinner and we were in there for lunch, they never offered us refills on drinks and they made us go up and pay before we were even done eating! We were in there only for a hour and it was 5 of us total. We went up to pay and explained we needed separate receipts because of our job and they gave us a issue with that! Then while my partner and I began explaining why we needed the receipts separated they began talking in Japanese to one another and then got extremely rude to us! It felt very degrading and disrespectful. I can honestly say if wasn't at work embarrassed enough after how ignorant the cashiers were by them making a scene when this all happened and trying to be nice in front of the consumers I care for I would have asked to speak to who ever was in charge and tell them exactly what I thought! read more

We have been going here for a bit now cause the kids like Chinese buffet. And each time it gets worse and worse. I'm not sure why this place would ever get any negative reviews. I have been going here for years. Never been to their old location in shoemakersville. They have a large selection of food for the entire family so yes it is hard to maintain constant freshness but instead of complaining about the food i ask them for a fresh tray or a fresh serving. They are always more than happy to bring it out. Tables are always clean and is a very relaxing environment. I recommend this place to anyone! It's a family favorite! read more

PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE EVER!!! Food is TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE we should have known after walking in and seeing 5 people at 5:30 on a Sunday. My husband and I each had 2 pieces of HARD sushi and a sip of the most disgusting water we have ever tasted. We let the owner Winnie know and she told us no one had ever complained about their food. Wake up Winnie and read all the horrible reviews about your restaurant. She made us pay $30 for eating 4 pieces of disgusting sushi even after recognizing my husband as he was there years ago. Obviously they do not care about their customers or about what people think. This restaurant has gone way down hill and I hope everyone reads this review and does not try to eat there. read more

I eat there about once a month, and have yet to get a bad meal. Variety of food is big on my criteria of where to eat, and its acceptable. There are a couple bigger buffets with better variety within a half hour drive, but I can find enough dishes to fill and overfill myself. Service can be a little slow when its crowded, but normally pretty good. Good price for All You Can Eat, particularly Mon-Sat. Hot and Sour Soup is unusual, sorta like a spicy celery soup, but very good. Kim Chee recommended. read more

Decent food. They can Cook fresh food aswell which comes with the baffet. The waitress "lady who refills your soda" will beg for your change when u pay the bill so try to have exact change or she was nag u till u give in. Friday- 5:00 pm What's the old saying,"Three Strikes and Your Out". We went to their place when it was at the light in Shoey and it was at least a little better than it is now. We used to go to the Breakfast Buffet on a Sunday and it was very good, but, they stopped that. We have been to this Buffet, for Chinese food three times since they opened here and it was a terrible experience all three times. We tried three different times thinking maybe it was the time of the day that made a difference. The food was cold. Many dishes were hard and dried out. No flavor. The chicken dishes that were fried had little or no chicken in them, a lot of batter and hard batter. The dishes that had vegetables like broccoli in them, had mush for vegetables. This time we were there @ 5pm and most of the things seemed like they were sitting there all day. Think they make too much at a time and put it out, and the heat would not dry it out because there wasn't hardly any heat. Next time we'll go to Burger King. read more
