This place is a food, inspectors dream lots of food cross contamination places stinks of seafood lemonade was old and flat floor was greasy and slippery most of the food tasted old and to top it off didn't taste good they are pricey for under par food would not recommend to anyone

PROS: this place was very nice. It has a banquet room, loads of food and seating, place is clean, and the waitress was nice. Prices are unbeatable and loads of parking CONS: the hostess was a bit snobby and you have to prepay before eating OVERALL: for a buffet, this place was very nice. I would definitely come back

Well prepared and delicious: chicken and broccoli with a side of white rice.

I love this place. I enjoy the fresh sushi and hibachi. I am always greeted warmly at the door. I would recommend

Pretty terrible if I must say. Worst buffet i've been to. I left feeling hunger and regret, as it seems I paid for yesterdays leftovers

Most everything! Collecting tips before even being seated. Is a sure sign of lousy food and service! (What happened to the crab legs?)

Located in Village West on Tilghman Street, it's open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Friday from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Saturday from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. I was looking for a place to grab dinner before going to the movies, and since I hadn't had sushi in a while, I decided to give Sumo a try. Kicked things off with the crispy calamari, which was perfectly fried. It's a familiar favorite, served with a sweet chili sauce that complements it nicely. Next up were the Kani salad and seafood miso soup. While the soup was loaded with seafood, both dishes were fairly average and a bit bland. For the main event, sushi! I tried the Sumo Roll, with spicy crunchy salmon and avocado inside, topped with seared salmon, white tuna, crispy rice ball, and tobiko with the chef's special sauce. I also had the Cracked Lobster Roll, filled with spicy shrimp and lobster, sweet potato tempura, and topped with Kani salad and a Japanese cracker with garlic mango sauce. Both were fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Overall, everything was enjoyable. I'd rank Sumo somewhere in the middle among the sushi spots I've tried.

I ordered shrimp and scallop hibachi and it was incredibly oily and greasy, and the portion of shrimp and scallops was tiny. My friend also got hibachi and felt the same way. My salad was watery, and the clear mushroom soup tasted very strange. I couldn't take more than a bite of either the soup or the salad. For my entree, asked the server if I could please have extra vegetables instead of noodles, and she said that there was a "language barrier" in the kitchen, so she didn't want to ask that. I thought that was an odd comment for her to make. My daughter ordered some sushi rolls and liked them, and my husband and our friend also liked their sushi; so maybe sushi is a better choice here. The place is small and to echo other reviewers, tables are very crammed together and you will bump in to other people just by moving around. The place is cool looking on the inside and outside, definitely an interesting vibe, and they have a full bar. We did have to ask multiple times about the status of our beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). My drink was not good, it was a sake/lemon drop hybrid type of thing and it was insanely sweet - I couldn't finish it.

It's expensive compared to other hibachi restaurants, no reason to throw zucchini pieces at me instead of shrimp. Now it's soup or salad instead of both. Service was good and place is pretty clean. For years we only had…read moreour choice of Tokyo Hibachi & Bar or Mikura to get the full hibachi experience (shrimp flyin', saké chuggin', onion ring volcano shootin' fire into the air, which can be felt on the faces of people sitting across the room). But when Masa arrived, it changed the whole town's dynamic. MIkura was basically banished into the nether realm. Their hibachi tables are way too cramped. If your two favorite things are the wise-cracking, egg-balancing-on-the-spatula, cheery on the outside but everyone knows is depressed on the inside hibachi chef and claustrophobia, then this place is for you. Tokyo has been the king for the longest time, but Masa is a true powerhouse in its own right. It's fairly obvious the scales are tipping in Masa's favor these days, for if you were to ask an acquaintance about where they'd like to go for your pre-arranged sushi lunch that you had planned for weeks and miraculously neither of you bailed, nearly every time that person would say Masa. Speaking of lunch, the specials here are what keep me coming back. Three rolls for $13, hibachi combos (i.e. chicken, veggies, fried rice, soup) also for $13, and their Lunch Wok & Grill Platters (protein, Cali roll, dumpling, rice, and soup) for $12. Bonkers. There are still good deals out there, just gotta know where to look. The hibachi experience is top notch. Here you get a proper amount of space, heck, you might even go as far to say an abundance. And that's how it should be. Lots of room, not cramped up next to the other tables, where you get splattered from their oil and feel the burn from their onion volcanos. Must say, I quite dig this place. For the life of me I can't think of a single thing I dislike. Bravo, Masa, you are now the king of hibachi in Reading, PA.
