Although it was slow we were pleased with the finished result. We had more carpeting planned this year and returned to them again, but have been exertemely disappointed with the length of time (4months since paying in full- which is when the carpets have arrrived in the shop) to get carpets fitted as well as additional hidden payments (for plying floor prior to carpets being laid) added on at the last despite 5 visits by shop staff and fitters before agreeing quote. Would not recommend or use again.

Planned to do most of our new house using first floors, but later decided not to put all our eggs in one basket and see how they did with just kitchen and two bathrooms. Asked end of May if they could do the work before 18th June, which is when we would be on holiday. They said it would be a push but yes. Pencilled in 17th June. Ordered materials, paid deposit. To cut a long story short, we moved into our new house on 19th July with no kitchen or bathroom floors and no date given when the work could be done. We'd already paid for the materials so asked them to deliver so we could get our own fitters. They did, less some items we'd actually paid for (and they ignored my email to ask for an up to date invoice). My advice: visit their nice showroom, take some samples, choose what you like, then buy it online (it'll be cheaper) and find your own fitter - easy to do through mybuilder for example. Got the floor done nicely and quickly within 10 days around 15% cheaper than first floors' price. My analysis: giving them the benefit of the doubt, they're busy and can't cope with the business, so are messing around the lower value jobs (my job was around £1000 value). Without the benefit of the doubt, they are either incompetent in their admin or dishonest, or both.

    Porcelanosa - Loads of tiles!

Their showroom is big with lots of bathroom displays (and kitchens too) showing lots of different tiles on display. The staff are pretty helpful and can advice which range of floor tiles work best with a wall tile you like etc. They offer a free design service for kitchens and bathrooms and if you are going for a full remodel it's great. The products on offer are expensive and Porcelanosa are definitely marketing themselves as a high end manufacturer. If you think you can't afford the price tag, check your tiler doesn't get a discount - you'll be surprised just how big a discount some of them get c.40%! - or wait for their big sales where all tiles are reduced by 40%. You can also occasionally pick up a good deal through some ex display stock sales when they change things around in their showroom, we picked up a shower screen for a good price this way.

However, I didn't feel like on the occasion we visited, I could have been confident in buying anything here. Maybe this isn't always true, but the pricing was really confusing. I think this is partly because they were in the middle of the sale. So you'd see something you'd like, it would have a huge price on it but that wouldn't be the actual price of the item - it would be a promotional price that only applied as a "multibuy" offer. It was unclear what other item you'd have to purchase to get that lower price. So, that was pretty disappointing. You don't want to see something you like and think it' in budget only to be find out that it's actually 50% more expensive than it appears to be. Furniture shopping is stressful enough without this nonsense. Then, it took us ages to get hold of a member of staff when we wanted to ask a question. To be fair, when we did they were very helpful, so I guess they get points for that. As I say, it might be better outside of sale season, but given that this branch is based on a huge complex with several other stores that all sell very similar things, it's really hard to recommend this as an option.
