Two years ago Mike Stanley and his crew patched an alligator depression in my old asphalt driveway, and also sealed my driveway. Mike said to check back with him in two years to see the condition of the driveway. I called him 11 days ago and he gave me a quote in 2 days. Within a week they paved the driveway. A simple customer satisfaction gesture can go a long way. I'm going to say they did a great job with the paving. However, the next day when we were at the driveway, we noted that one of the glass panels from our garage light fixture was broken. It wasn't like that prior to the paving project. We texted Jim who called immediately. The conversation turned sour very quickly. Instead of "manning up" and giving the customer the benefit of the doubt he argued that we were accusing "them" of breaking the glass. Well, it wasn't like that the day before! It would have been so easy for him to own up and say he would reimburse us for the replacement. I finally found a replacement which is less than 1% of what we paid him. So, when a neighbor asks about our driving project we won't be referring. His kind (and professional) gesture would have been worth it in the end. (Side note: We found one of their shovels in our yard after they left. We called to let them know. Honesty is a powerful tool!) read more

You will be pleased with the paving work Jim Stanley and his crew does. Naturally, paving work is weather dependent, but Jim works with you to schedule a mutually convenient date. Jim and his crew showed up on time, ready to work. Basically, my needs were to widen my existing driveway which meant Jim had to excavate and lay down two layers of asphalt for the expanded part. The existing driveway was constructed with two layers. Jim removed the top layer and applied a new layer over top the base layer, creating a seamless, uniform wider driveway. Given the circumstances this year(Covid 19), Jim and his crew wore masks at all time. Jim listened to what I wanted done with the driveway and executed it. I feel Jim is an honest paving contractor, he does what is agreed upon, with a reasonable fair price. His work is top quality. I would hire Jim for future work. read more

In making the estimate he told me exactly where problems were and what steps he would take to remedy them in the repaving. His estimate was reasonable and he proceeded. Prominent local service provider who does excellent work. They did my parents driveway more than a decade ago and it still looks like new. We had our 56 year old driveway replaced recently and it looks great. It is wider, flatter and blacker. Sealing costs 3x as much because they use proper materials, unlike most other provides who use water based crap. Their cue is long, but once a date is set they are incredibly professional and efficient. Jim Stanley is also a very nice guy. read more

Unfortunately a 65ft. tall pine tree fell on the house and therefore that took precedence. I was able to reach Mr. Stanley and he told me that whenever we were ready to call back. His coordination with us was very thorough; we don't like surprises and neither does he. I honestly can't say enough things about this company. I contacted four companies to asphalt a section the size of about 2 1/2 car spaces up against my home and a 4 foot wide by 12 foot long strip between my and my neighbors home. One company said they weren't interested in a job that small. Stanley came in at the middle as far as cost goes but it was Mike Stanley that sold me on going with Jim Stanley Asphalt. Didn't give me the feeling that it was too small of a job, was very understanding, personable, knowledgeable, and approachable about all of my concerns. His crew did a phenomenal job at my home. They even did some repairing of grass from what they dug up and prepped two areas at the end of my driveway at no cost. Now I have two extra car spaces, no more nuisance between my neighbor and my driveway, and my kids get a basketball court. I will hopefully have Mike and his crew back this year to resurface my neighbors and my entire driveway so it all looks uniform.
