Dr. Lee and his team were so warm and welcoming, I felt so naturally at ease. Dr. Lee was so easy to talk to and had such a patient approach thoroughly explaining everything in the process as well as why each option would or would not work for me before making a recommendation. I proceeded with ICL and even during surgery, he was so kind and patient. The procedure itself was so quick and painless, and I felt completely normal as soon as I got up. No symptoms afterwards or pain, which were my concern. I literally felt as if nothing happened as soon as I got up from the procedure. My vision is amazing now, I just have to get used to the phantom urges to grab my glasses or "remove my contacts" when my eyes feel tired since being able to see + tired eyes used to mean I was wearing contacts. Absolutely zero complaints and have already recommended Dr. Lee to people only 3 days after my procedure.

My Background: I have been a slave to prescription glasses…read moreand contact lenses since 6th grade. After 27 years (I am 38 now), I decided to finally get iLASIK because of the technique's long track record and I can now actually afford the treatment. Facility Selection: I was referred to Dr. Berg's facility, along with a couple others, by my optometrist in 2025. I chose Dr. Berg's office based on pricing and accessibility. I received $900 off per eye ($3000/eye down to $2100/eye; the other places didn't offer) for the referral and he has several satellite offices that made it easier for me to drive to. These were the initial attractive factors. Care Quality: There's really no way for me to know what my experience could have been at the other laser correction facilities. However, I do not regret choosing Dr. Berg's office at all. At every point, from the personalized consultation to the actual procedure, I felt that I was in good hands. Both Dr. Berg and his staff are not only highly knowledgeable, but they were also very friendly and made my questions feel welcomed. When I read Dr. Berg's resume and mission statement, I felt assuaged to know that he is an experienced top-notch independent surgeon who used only state-of-the-art equipment and isn't running a LASIK mill. This meant that the chances of me needing an enhancement or touch-up are very low. I enjoyed interacting with Dr. Berg's staff as well. They felt like honest down-to-earth people that could relate to my pre-surgery anxieties. I appreciated the fact that they didn't try to push or sell me extra things. There is a Lifetime Commitment warranty that's optional. However, they didn't press me to buy it and I see that as a green flag. With how they measured my eyes and checked my candidacy twice, once during consultation and again right before the procedure, demonstrates a high level of professionalism, quality practice, and rigorous ethics to me. Facility Experience: I think that it's also worthwhile commenting on their offices. I went to the Arcadia one for the consultation and the Sherman Oaks office, where the actual procedure is done. Both were very clean and well-kept. The waiting, examination and operating rooms are very sterile and I felt comfortable being in them. Results: At the time of writing this, I am sitting at 3 days post-op and enjoying a glasses-free life with my vision being right as rain. As a matter of fact, I saw vision improvements immediately after my iLASIK procedure with Dr. Berg, and my visual acuity sharpened further as my eyes healed more. I am scheduled to see Dr. Berg directly for continual follow-up appointments to ensure that my eyes are fine. Closing Statement: For readers who see this review and are contemplating getting iLASIK, I genuinely recommend Berg-Feinfield Vision Correction. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't scared during the actual procedure--I was terrified! But I honestly would've felt like that anywhere I went. All I can say is that Dr. Berg and his staff were excellent in providing vocal reassurance and guidance during the procedure, and that made all the difference for me emotionally. In the end, I was granted video footage of my actual iLASIK treatment and I can evidentially see that Dr. Berg is incredibly dexterous and skilled. I cannot argue with the awesome results and I hope that this review provides more visibility (pun intended) for the Berg-Feinfield group and clarification for prospective candidates!

I recently visited this office after being advised to follow up with an ophthalmologist due to a…read morescratched cornea. During my initial visit, LASIK was recommended, so I scheduled what I understood would be a consultation to see if I qualified. When I arrived, there seemed to be some confusion about the purpose of my appointment. I was told it was for a contact lens/eye exam, and even after explaining that I was there *specifically* for a LASIK consultation, I still ended up receiving a standard eye exam (I think? They didn't tell me anything lol, you'll see as I explain further). I may not fully understand how LASIK consultations are typically conducted, but there was very little communication throughout the visit about what was being done or why. One of the more frustrating parts of my experience was that I was not informed at any point--either before the appointment or during the visit--that my eyes would be dilated. I am legally blind and have been getting my eyes checked since I was a child (nearly 20 years) and I have not gotten my eyes dilated since I was a kid! When the drops were given, no one explained what they were or that they would dilate my eyes. I only realized this after my eyes became extremely sensitive to light and I got semi dizzy that I had to ask what was happening. There was also no guidance provided on what to expect afterward or how long the effects would last. Because of this, I was completely unprepared; I didn't have sunglasses and still needed to drive home. I was only given sunglasses after I specifically asked. So bizarre. I feel like regardless if this is common or not, this should be something communicated during the process... I also wouldn't have myself if I knew they were gonna dilate my eyes. After all of that, I still didn't receive much information about LASIK itself. I had to ask whether I even qualified, and the answer was given very casually without much explanation. If it weren't for me asking questions, I would've been given 0 information. Overall, the main issue was the lack of communication. I left feeling confused, unprepared, and not prioritized as a patient. While the office itself is clean and the staff wasn't unfriendly, clearer communication and better guidance throughout the process would have made a significant difference. Them sneaking in an eye exam on top of the "free" consultation, felt like they were just trying to make some money. For anyone considering this office, I would recommend coming prepared with questions and advocating for clear explanations during your visit. Otherwise, you're given nothing.

I am now one of 5 people that have come to him for LASIK that I know personally. My friend's father had come to him almost 20 years prior and his vision is still going strong. Every single person has had a positive experience. The surgery itself was kinda nerve-racking, however, they make it a comfortable and easy process. The fact that I was told what was happening every second of the way helped me relax. I didn't expect the burning smell which was the only thing that threw me off. The whole thing was about 10 minutes and they offer you a Xanax beforehand. You go home, take a little nap and boom, you wake up and can see. HOWEVER, it is a bit foggy and I had some halos around lights for a few weeks but that cleared up. Definitely a better way to live. Highly recommend. Invest in your eyesight!

Dr Moosa gave me permanent eye damage!…read more I made the life-altering mistake to trust Dr. Moosa at Excel Laser Eye Institue with my eye surgery in June 2011. I had previously had a completely successful Lasik surgery on both eyes 10 years prior, in Monterey County. That surgery was done professionally, and my vision was perfect for many years. Unfortunately, I trusted Dr Moosa and his staff to provide the same specialized service. My eyesight had changed, as happens as we age, and the recommendation was that I have the Lasik surgery in just my right eye. I made several visits to the Excel Laser Vision Institute, to make absolutely sure that I was making the correct decision in moving ahead. Unfortunately - it was one of the worst decisions of my life. Not only did no-one disclose that my close-up vision would be significantly worsened by the procedure, but it also has resulted in a life of pain and discomfort, that I will suffer until the day I die! Once the procedure was completed, a contact lens was placed over the flap that had been surgically cut for the procedure. I was told to go home and rest and sleep. When I think back to this day, I realize how rushed things were and how little time there was "in recovery" to make sure everything was as it should be, before sending me on my way. Once I got home, I went to bed and tried to sleep, but I was in significant discomfort. A couple of hours later, I woke up in excruciating pain. I called Dr. Moosa's office, and his staff assured me it was normal and advised me to rest my eyes. I insisted that it didn't feel normal. As the pain and fear intensified, I called repeatedly, explaining that something was seriously wrong, but each time I was told to just rest. When it became clear that no one was going to help, I said I would have to go to the ER because I knew something was very wrong. Finally, Dr. Moosa called me back and told me to return to the vision center. It was after 9 p.m. by then. A friend drove me there, and when Dr. Moosa examined my eye, he discovered that the flap he had cut was folded behind the contact lens. I had been suffering like that for hours. Dr Moosa, made the adjustments that he could and I was sent home again. The flap finally closed up, but the result was major permanent scarring. Every single day of my life, I have to use eye drops multiple times a day in that one eye. It is dry, scratchy, and if I cry, my eye burns! I have to have eye drops available in every room and with me at all times. I have been back to see Dr. Moosa on many occasions over the years, and his recommendations have always been various kinds of eye drops and eye supplements! He has told me from day one that "it's healing well, it will take some time, but it should all eventually fade away and be unnoticable". This is a lie and always has been a lie! A recent eye exam from my regular eye doctor revealed that the scarring to my eye is very significant and severe, and it is NOT going away ever! I trusted Dr Moosa and his staff! I literally put my eyesight in his hands and he failed me completely

When I got home, I flushed the eye out with water, thinking that would take care of the remaining irritation. Wrong. I'd never experienced this kind of eye discomfort before - and it wasn't going away. I went to bed, but didn't get one iota of sleep -- the eye was just a bit too uncomfortable. Early the next morning, I was unsure how to proceed. It was Sunday, so no eye clinics were open. Did this warrant a visit to the E.R.? I wasn't sure. Finally, I called Colvard Eye Center and they said they could put me in touch with the on-call doctor. I said OK, and soon heard the slightly sleepy-sounding voice of Dr. Bala. I hadn't ever talked to her before, and now I'd introduced myself by waking her up because my anxiety kept me from realizing I should wait a couple of hours. I wouldn't blame her for being grouchy for such an early call -- but she wasn't. I told Dr. Bala my situation, and she was wonderful about the whole thing. She told me I didn't need the E.R., set my mind at ease, gave me some recommendations as to how to get by for the day, then said to call in first thing the next morning, and that she'd try to see me. The rest of the process unfolded nicely under her caring guidance. A few days later, she looked into my eye and said "much better!", giving me permission to drop my prescription eye drops. I'm so grateful for Dr. Bala's caring, professional, and spot-on approach & treatment. I look forward to her being my primary ophthalmologist for the foreseeable future. Thank you, Dr. Bala! :)

And because of how warm Dr Bala was, this review gets 2 stars. But, DLV doesn't deserve more than 2 stars for the following reasons... 1) I was scheduled for the 1st appointment on Friday morning @ 7:10a, and received a call on Monday to answer various pre-appointment questions. Nothing wrong with that, right? But when I received another call on Thursday, asking the exact same questions, I politely told them that I had already answered all of these questions and they need to find the notes from the Monday call. And no, they weren't calling to confirm my Monday answers. They were calling brand new, with no record of the previous call. 2) Before being brought into the exam room, they gave me a contact lens case and some solution and pointed me to the sink to use. It seems like it was their communal kitchen sink, since there were dirty coffee mugs in and around the sink. Not a good place to wash hands for removing contact lenses. Side note, when I was done with the exam, I was directed to the bathroom to use for putting my contacts back in, and that was clean. 3) Upon arriving at the appointment, the tech brought me into the exam room and did an eye exam on me. Everything was fine with that, and he said that the doc would be right in to talk with me further. After 20 minutes of waiting, and no cellular service (boy, I'm way to reliant on my cell phone!), I exited the room to inquire where the doctor was. The doctor and two other people were outside the room chatting away and told me that the doctor would be right in, which was accurate as she came right in. But come on, being the 1st appointment of the day should mean something, right? 4) And finally, when I was done with the exam and had my contacts back in, I met with the financial person, who told me how much everything would be. Though I know it's her job, I felt like she was the finance office of a car dealership and trying to upsell me on things: "Would you like the $299 eye drop pack?" "Extended warranty?" "How about the weather protection package?" (joking about the warranty & weather package) Maybe it's the right place for you, but it's just not the right place for me to put my eyes in their hands.
