WIZARD!! I dropped in to the J Roberts salon hoping to receive a second opinion on a recent dye treatment I received elsewhere. Mr. J Roberts HIMSELF sat me down, patiently walked me through what had happened and the current state of my hair, and reviewed the original inspiration pictures I had used as a reference before receiving the "BEFORE" service, as well as pictures of the actual before of the "BEFORE" service. He was patient, empathetic, and answered all my questions. What really took my experience to the next level here is what happened next. He walked me through not one, but TWO different procedures that could be used to achieve closer to my desired outcome, catered to the current state of my hair, and at different price points depending on what I was looking to invest. He helped me weigh the pros and cons of each AND the expected maintenance / lifespan (for lack of a better word) for each different treatment. He was very unbiased and professional while doing so and hid nothing about either process! I felt very heard and considered, and was really happy to be able to weigh different options with input from an expert. I returned to the salon within a week to go through one of the options, which he again took me through himself. The salon space is beautiful and I felt very relaxed during the entire process. He frequently made sure I had water and brought me fun beverages (a little coffee? White wine? Yes please!) at different points during the service. He made sure to check on how my hair was doing and how everything was processing at several different points along the way, and made minor adjustments (also explained to me) towards the end to make sure the final outcome was true to the vision while preserving my hair as much as possible. The results? A color and a cut beyond what I had been expecting, and EXACTLY what I had been hoping for!! WOW! The attention to detail during the consultation and process itself really shows in the end result. He also educated me about a few products I could use to help maintain my hair quality, and what to expect as time passed. Heck, he ever catered the process so that it would KEEP looking good as time passed!! The pictures speak for themselves! I felt informed, considered, and cared about every step of the way at this salon. I cannot speak highly enough about the quality of service and the outcome of this experience. 11/10, couldn't recommend this salon more, and the J Roberts Salon has won a customer for life. read more

If you are looking for a clean safe place to get your hair done this is the place. Had been calling around looking for a salon that required customers and beauticians to wear mask not to just suggest you wear a mask. A mask is required at all times while in the salon. The salon keeps the door locked so you can't just walk in without a mask. When you arrive they ask you the usual questions then you have to wash your hand which your beautician also does. The shop is very clean and the girls only work on one client at a time. The hair wash sink is wonderful. It has a head rest inside the sink so no more breaking your neck while getting hair washed. The foot stool is on rollers which makes the whole washing experience extremely comfortable. The girls wipe down the chairs when you get up so it will be clean for the next client. This was my first visit to the salon. It had been about two months since my roots had been done. My roots were a good inch to a inch and a half and all white. I have my hair colored a redish brown with baby lights. Can not brag enough about Lauren she was fantastic. Lauren matched my color perfectly. It had been years since my hair has felt or looked this good. After living in the area for six years I have finally found a salon home. read more

J Roberts salon is the PLACE to go for cut and color , the salon is amazing ! First off , I have been to the salon once before when I was in town , so I am a repeat client: three years later! The experience was just as amazing on my second visit. Ghazal is Amazing! She is very knowledgeable and personable. I went with a photo of what I wanted and she made it happen! she took great care of me. When I had questions regarding the back length of my hair she adjusted to what I wanted, even after she had finished the initial styling process. She has the patience of a Saint. Color is beautifully done and I love the cut. Ghazal , you rock! Thank you for putting up with me!! Jim and his team are the best . I'm very new to the area and wanted an up to date cut and style. Googled salon's. J Robert's Salon did not disappoint with the historic charm combined with a modern flair. Such a quaint downtown shop!! From the beginning of the call to them, I could tell in Melissa's phone manners and friendly sweet voice, this salon stood for client happiness. That in my estimation says a lot of a business from the beginning! Owners Jim and  Maggie have their staff trained properly and felt nothing but a pleasant experience the whole time there!  Best haircut ever by Alexia!!!!! This is my first visit to this hair salon. And I love it! Simply excellent starting with the friendly welcome of the receptionist and finishing with my new hair stylists, Alexia Agnes. The receptionist introduced herself and immediately offers me a warm drink, coffee, tea, etc. By the way great coffee. Then my new hair stylists come immediately and told me her name and also she was the person who takes care of my hair. AMAZING JOB! Very professional and she did exactly what I want it. Very important for the first visit. When she finish her job immediately reccomend me my new hair products, and my next schedule appointment. From the moment I walked through the door of his very lovely salon, to the time I left after my visit, everyone and everything couldn't have been more perfect. I had a tedious hair issue that Jim Roberts approached with kindness and patience. After what seemed like a long time while Jim solved my hair problem, he was still congenial, relaxed and professional. Best salon experience I've had in a long long time! From the moment I walked in, everyone was so cheerful and kind to the moment I walked out the door. Katy did a wonderful job with my hair. This was my first visit to the salon. I had an issue with severe allergic reactions to the hair products I was using from another salon. Melissa got me in to see Marla, who has done extensive research on products' ingredients since she had my problem herself. Marla not only knew the products well, she questioned me in detail to learn exactly what I need. The final grand bonus to my visit was her styling my hair. I wear my hair short and have had nothing but one bad haircut after another for the past two years from other salons. By the grace of God I finally found a salon that gave me a haircut that I was happy with. Jim did an excellent job and took his time to ensure that I would be nothing but happy with my experience. I have followed Maggie for over 10 years. She is the only person I have found that is able to cut my wavy, thick hair in the best ways. From the first phone call to set up an appointment, I was treated with exceptional friendliness and care. I had a "Hair Emergency" because I had tried to color my own hair. It looked like I had poured a big bottle of iodine on it! Katy got my hair back to a natural color and Jim put highlights in it. I really enjoyed my experience at this salon! The customer service is amazing, and everyone was really friendly. The shop itself is very very clean, and I liked that a lot. I came in to cut my long hair to about shoulder length for prom, and I really liked my haircut. My stylist was really helpful in helping me choose between different styles of cuts. So happy to find Marla at J. Roberts Salon! I have always had a hard time getting a cut I like. She corrected a bad cut for me and it grew out beautifully!
