The restaurant is set up is cute, they had a nice flower wall with a swing. And along the walls they had pictures of their menu items. There are couch's and a lot of other seating inside too. The man who took our orders was patient and kind, and the ice cream came out relatively quick. I ordered the Thai tea snow ball. And it was delicious. It's shaved frozen Thai tea, and the condensed milk on top really made the flavors pop.

Everything here left me wanting more! If I could describe it one word - meh. Ordered 3 poke bowls and a bubble tea. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't go back. I was first drawn to the place because it was one of the only Asian/bubble tea places nearby. The desserts looked good in the pictures, so we ventured toward the food, too. The menu was sooo long! They sell many items here - crepe, pizza and more. They're all over the place theme-wise. It would be helpful if they focused and developed a small handful of menu items further, and specialized in a few dishes instead of trying to please every palate. Perhaps the taste would be better and concept more unique. The staff was friendly, but it took us forever to get our orders. They said they were still cooking rice for us. We ordered one of the mango/salmon signature bowls, expecting it to be their best item because of how it was described on the menu. It was super expensive for what it was - a great heaping of rice and then skimping on salmon. I was expecting more for our buck. Tastier salmon, maybe? More umami and melded flavors? It had a lot of mangoes in it - but they weren't very ripe. We had to endure a lot of fibrous chewing to get to the soft rice and salmon. Nothing to write home about. My bubble tea was too sickly sweet. Took a while to finish. It's unfortunate because I'm still rooting for them to be more established and reliable here.

Excellent staff and owner was outstanding in hospitality. WIDE selection and incredibly comfortable amenities including couches and a swing bench. We have been to MANY poke places and this place stands toe to toe with the best of them. My ONLY request is that they get Fresh Jalapeño as they only had pickled jalapeno and my wife hates pickled lol. 10/10 on all fronts. Look at my picture, I ordered the beef/steak in my bowl!! No complaints. I accidentally left my prescription glasses and had to call the owner as I live 4 hours away. He was happy to take down my information and assist in helping me get back my glasses!!!

Stopped in for dessert after dinner and order the Berry Sunshine rolled ice cream. It came out fast and was delicious. The suggestion from the cashier to add a condensed milk drizzle was perfect. The only downside is that the dining area and bathrooms could have been cleaner.

J-Petal is a great place to get dinner and dessert! If you are craving something fresh and light... let's just say it's the opposite of how you feel after a big BBQ dinner or one too many trips to the buffet bar... you know who you are! The Poke bowl was fresh and light and the sauce to everything Japanese you love in a bowl is an absolutely delight! The Thai rolled Ice cream is a treat that is fun to watch as they smear and make the rolls in front of you and your kids. It's like a show and a dessert! Our favorite dessert is the crepe with the mixed fruit (the chocolate and custard is amazing!) They also have a lot of different savory options. I personally enjoyed the oriental crepe (egg). It's a bit more substantive for those a bit hungry and want something more than a savory crepe! The drinks are great! My favorite by far is the lemon yokurt! It's basically Korean yogurt as a drink with some lemon squeezed into it! It is one of the most refreshing drinks you can get!

If your craving something unique and different this place is it. They have light bulb drinks (served in a plastic Light bulb), rolled ice cream, and divine crepes. Just down the road from James Madison University, you can curve your sweet tooth.

My new favorite restaurant in Harrisonburg!!! The food here is just incredible! It's super fresh and amazingly tasty. My husband got Teriyaki Crepe and I got the egg crepe. The kids made their own bowls. I cannot stress how fresh their ingredients are. My crepe had spinach, egg, cheddar, avocado, lettuce, and this wonderful flavorful sauce. My husband loved his too. This kids loved their bowls. A family for six absolutely loving a restaurant almost never happens. This place just rocks!!! We had their rolled ice cream for dessert. It's fantastic. They make it in front of you. It is the best ice cream you will ever have. The strawberry is fantastic. The turtle is my favorite. My daughter loves the Cookie Monster. My son loves their chocolate milkshake.

If it's just OK, it's K-Petal. If they're training new employees, they should wear L-Petal signs. And if you empathize with people that have never tried things this delicious, then you M-Petalthize with them. What to get: Crepe What not to get: Crap from your friends about going here without them If you're cycling to get here, then petal faster, because you don't want to miss out on these spectacular desserts and yummy drinks. J-Petal was an absolute delight, close to the campus of James Madison University - and the best part is that I really didn't expect it to be. I don't generally like Asian Crepes (I'm spoiled by street crepes in Paris), and I was expecting the products to be mediocre or decent at best. They were actually spectacularly delicious and amazing. If En Vogue go here, it's N-Petal. If you get sexually excited while here, it's O-Petal. And if you need the bathroom urgently, it's P-Petal. I figured out why it's so good. It's from New York City. The original location is in Brooklyn, and so it has to have a high standard. This is the only other location in existence. How did you get so lucky Harrisonburg Virginia? If you find some cool gadgets in here, they're from Q-Petal. And if someone tells you that you aren't petal, believe me, you R-Petal. And according to Mexicans, the best dessert place in Harrisonburg "Es Petal." The drinks are really good as well - but the real strength lies in the wild and imaginative, fruity, delicious crepes and desserts. I will definitely be visiting here every single time I come back to Harrisonburg. And if you want a fancy new name for Tea Leaves, how about T-Petal? And if you're sick of me petal, how about U-Petal? And if you lost your V-Card in unfortunate circumstances, come and replenish it at V-Petal! It's in the same plaza as the excellent international Bubble Tea chain Kung Fu Tea - so if you want an excellent bubble tea, head to KFT (where you should try the Lemon Black Tea with tapioca), and then come and spoil yourself with some excellent Asian desserts from J-Petal. And if you're a Republican, skip it and go to W-Petal. And watch out for my crazy X-Petal. This plaza is definitely the destination when in Harrisonburg. Service is absolutely wonderful as well. Now I've given you enough reasons Y-Petal. So don't ZZZZZZ-Petal on J-Petal.

Came for the dessert, but was surprised by the amazing poke bowl. Wonderfully fresh homemade dishes, and terrific service. Can't wait to come back to try more. Highly recommend!

They have cute carrying bags for the crepes. So perfect!

The mochiko chicken was good, and was pretty juicy. I enjoyed the mochiko sauce that came with it. The tonkatsu was crispy and not dry. But I felt like the sauce could've been sweeter for my taste. I got a katsu curry rice plate and my father got the chicken katsu with coleslaw. The food was prepared in average time (around 10-15 minutes, nothing crazy) and we took it home. The food itself tasted very good. The katsu chicken was crispy and the curry, though thin, was flavorful and delicious. However, both my father and I suffered symptoms of food poisoning later in the day and into the next. I think it is reasonable to guess that this was spurred by the lack of AC in the kitchen, which may have led to improper food handling. I will not be back, but I know people who swear by this place and have never had this experience. I would caution others to try it in the cooler months.

I came with a particular need to get something that was both flavorful but not overly traumatizing for an ailing stomach. A miso ramen fit the bill nicely. While Japanese, the menu is vegetarian-friendly and offers ample customization. My ramen was tasty, but I did feel a bit shorted by getting only one marinated tofu sheet to finish off at the end. I needed some sushi to feel full, and fortunately, their inari with a seaweed salad filling were delicious, arguably more so than the ramen. A tea from their boba menu delivered some nice chia seeds and strong flavor, albeit with an aftertaste. I wouldn't say that my bar for ramen was reset, but as a regular driver along I-81, I felt good about having made this stop and wouldn't mind repeating it.

I guess I should've known better, but the make your own drink was mediocre because the guava option was based off a not-so-yummy juice. So next I ordered a drink off their menu and it was just alright. Honestly, I'd just skip out on drinks next time, but it was New Year's Eve so.. I did try to ask our server for drink reccs but she was 20.. So, we really enjoyed our ramens. Even the veggie ramen that I ordered, with a clear broth, was quite tasty - I've had clear broth options that were less flavorful. We also ordered a few additional appetizers. We shared some bao buns which were excellent, my partner ordered some meat skewers and I ordered a salmon nori taco. All in all, a great little shop. We considered coming back later on our trip but decided to explore elsewhere.
