A small ice cream spot, but a good one. The inside is decorated with signed pictures, and it really gives you a feel of who owns the shop. The lady who helped us was kind and I believe she was to owner too. Me and my family go to the Massanutten resort almost every year, and this is our go to ice cream spot. I always get the pistachio ice cream because it's the only one that doesn't taste artificial. read more

Be cautious if you are a minority visiting this establishment, My family and I were the only ones waiting in line for almost 20 mins behind a white family. Another white family came into the store and somehow were instantly assumed to be the next customer to be serviced as if we didn't exist. As a person in my said we were next because we are literally the next group in line she said she didn't realize the order on the line yet the layout of this extremely cramped place does not allow for anything other than a tight single file line.. read more

They have a limited selection of ice cream. The flavors were not really anything I like. The building is very cramped and only a couple people can be inside at a time. The lady who works behind the counter is really nice, the owner on the other hand, is very rude. Prices are very reasonable for the location. read more

We came in here, looking for more homemade ice cream, but it was more ice cream. You get in a container. It was still good, but I just expected more. They had a ton of autographs on the wall from famous actors and actresses, so that part was pretty cool. It's a very small place and there's no seating inside, but there's tons of seating outside. I have a lactose intolerance and always take Lactaid when I eat ice cream. But even with that precaution, I always get sick on their ice cream. I. Just don't go back anymore. This shop had a different name when I last visited, bu the ice cream was still amazing!! I decided to go with their Midnight Mint, which is chocolate ice cream with red and green chunks of mint in it.... I'm guessing it was peppermint and spearmint? Either way, I absolutely enjoyed it. They have tons of flavors to choose from and even some cookies and such as options! It's also worth mentioning that their prices are quite reasonable! If you're in the mood for ice cream, give this place a try. And do your best not to drive by it going down that main road. It's a quick and sudden turn! read more

Our family of four was staying at Massanutten Resort and stumbled upon this place really close to the resort entry. It was attached to 2 other restaurants (Korean bbq by the bowl and a burger place that looked like it might be good) with a common outdoor seating area. It was a cute set up. There were a lot of flavors they did not have on hand. The scooper said it was due to spring break rush and they are trying to use up all their flavors. My wife, 10 year old daughter, 7 year old son and I all managed to find one to two flavors we enjoyed. My wife got one scoop of praline pecan and one scoop of black raspberry extreme in a waffle cone. She really enjoyed the flavors and the waffle cone was crunchy which was a concern for her. My daughter also got these two flavors. My daughter after finishing the ice cream said she wishes she got two scoop of only black raspberry extreme instead. My son got a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of vanilla and ate almost the whole thing. I got two scoops of cookie dough. The serving size was generous for the price! We all enjoyed our ice cream. All in all, we would come back to this spot in the future. read more

Squirrels Ice Cream is a fantastic little ice cream stand located in the Village of the Valley shopping center, along with a number of other food establishments. They scoop Windy Knoll Farm ice cream, and it's great! On the sweeter side, but I really enjoyed the thick creamy texture. I got a single scoop in a cup with half blackberry extreme and half strawberry cheesecake. Both were delicious, and I really appreciated having quality ice cream in this area! read more

We stopped by after a little hike along the ridge. The store is in a cute little shopping center with plenty of outdoor seating options. We loved the variety of options, including seasonal and non-dairy options. We ordered a medium peanut butter cup bowl. The flavor was smooth, had copious amounts of delicious frozen peanut butter, and just the right amount of sweetness. It was a perfect dessert after a beautiful hike! read more

Super friendly service who easily dealt with our family of 9. Super patient and answered all of our annoying questions. The ice cream was sooooo good. The portions are very generous as well. As a movie nerd I was a huge fan of the pictures on the wall (most autographed) and the story of the owner going to sci-fi conventions to collect them. Great place that we preferred to the other ice cream place down the road. I highly suggest you stop in to this place (hint there is a brewery next store for mom and dad as well). read more
