Our previous windows let in so much heat and the new ones are cool to the touch on the hottest days. Granted the old windows were failing, but still. It's a great feeling. After leaving voicemails for 3 other businesses who never called back, I found Don on Yelp, called, and he picked up right away. I told him I was needing a bedroom window replaced and gave him the ballpark dimensions of the window measurements. He asked some questions I didn't know the answers to, but was patient and helpful with walking me through how to tell the difference in order to answer. I liked that I was able to text him a picture of the window so that he could visually see what I was talking about, and he was able to give me an estimate soon after. He came out later the same day to assess the window and take accurate measurements. He gave us an estimated time of when he would be able to replace the window (he came out on a Thursday and got the window replaced by the following Tuesday) and was on his way. Throughout the entire process, I appreciated Don's clear communication along with the updates. The pricing was reasonable and the install was quick (even though I talked his ear off the whole time) and took less than an hour. He cleaned up any mess the install left behind and even wore shoe covers when he had to come inside to get to the window. Don was respectful, transparent, and was able to maintain great communication throughout the entire process. His pricing was fair and the installation was quicker than expected, but efficient. We would use Don again in the future since we had such a great first experience and love to support small business owners!

I contacted Jon and Deb to build two custom doors last summer. My exact request was: 2 identical…read moredoors to cover a 58"x 84" opening, using bypass track. Deb was quick to respond and set up an appointment to come out and measure the opening themselves, which was a requirement for their custom doors and installation. They determined I would need 2 doors approximately 83.5" high and convinced me to utilize a double track as opposed to a bypass track. Seeing as how I have installed exactly 0 barn doors in my life and this is Jon and Deb's business, I accepted their advice and measurements. Installation was rocky and took several hours, during which my doors were cut down because they were too tall. There was some minor paint damage along the way, and handprints to be washed off the walls, but the doors were up. I looked at them from inside the room and all seemed well. Fast forward a few months, and a visitor pointed out that what I had assumed was friction from the floor was actually my custom door rubbing up against my wall. This was disappointing, but I just stopped opening the door all the way in order to avoid damage to the door and my wall. About a month later, now on the other side of the doors, I realized the doors were too short and hung so low that you could actually see over the outer door and into the room the doors were supposed to be separating me from. Upon further inspection, I realized you could see over the inner door as well. This was a problem. I spent over double what standard barn doors would cost because the opening was taller than a standard opening. Receiving doors that were short enough to fit under the opening, cut to be even shorter, and then hung with a double track at a height that there was clearly a gap between the outer door and the top of the opening is not what I planned on receiving when placing this order. It's also not what I expect the average person (me) to consider , but certainly expect professionals to be cognizant of. I reached out to JonDorr and sent photos of these issues. Deb offered to come out to see if adjustments could be made due to settling. When I responded my availability but pointed out that it seemed the doors were too small for the opening, I stopped receiving responses. I even sent additional photos that she requested, and nothing. I can only assume they came to the same conclusion, that the doors were in fact too short. I cannot recommend this company to everyday consumers. Those with construction experience can double check measurements and installation if they feel like taking a chance.

Their bid was far and away the best price of all the quotes we received for the same product, and they offered a nice discount for payment in cash. Their employees were hard-working, respectful, and fun - we enjoyed interacting with each of them while they were doing their work, from the design consultant to the installers, and the new windows look wonderful. We have a front door that needs replacement soon, and I definitely know who I will call when we're ready for that project!

It took longer than expected. lifetime was communicative. We had such a good experience we called them to add a window but they didn't seem interested. Did not come out to provide estimate. Said the "engineering" and permitting would be expensive. Instead, we worked with city building inspection/permitting. Wrote our own permit application, drew diagram, and paid the cheap fee of $30. All approved; no issues. Window was not of the quality we could have purchased from lifetime but at least I have a window in what was a previously dark cave of a bathroom! We will try to use them again in future if need arises. Don't confuse this company with Lifetime exteriors (I don't believe it's same company).
