My girlfriend's heater stopped working, so she called this company. They told her the required…read moreparts were "rare" and recommended replacing the entire system for $8,000+, citing the age of the unit. When she declined, they suddenly "found" the part and quoted $1,800, then took a deposit. A quick search showed the OEM part is widely available for around $150, and the job typically takes 1-2 hours. Charging $1,800 for that kind of work is hard to justify. To their credit, when I called and requested a refund of the deposit, they returned it without issue (hence the 2 stars). That said, the initial sales approach was misleading and predatory. For context, another company has since quoted $460 for the same repair.

Installation was flawless, but the price was exorbitant at $8300. $6-6500 would have been a fair price for a $3400 heater marked up 1.5X and a 6-8 hours of labor at more than $200/hr labor. Met with owner and he justified the price mostly due to "knowing his costs", generous salaries for his employees, enormous overhead, advertising and a "small profit margin" Lesson learned. When the technician goes into upsell mode and tells you they are offering a competitive price, don't believe them. Get three quotes. Also, they remove any negative reviews and want you to not post anything detrimental on social media.

Mind you, I am on my third rehab property. This work was performed at was a commercial use building with a store front in the bottom. Ihor who is the gentleman that you will meet, if very knowledgeable. The pricing is fair and transparent. The quality of the work was above board. He even made the suggestion that my contractor made upon his initial inspection of the building about 5 months ago. That suggestion was to install a heater that allowed me to upgrade to central air whenever I am ready to install the new condenser. Due to the fact that I was replacing the system during one of the coldest winters in the last several years, estimates were insane! He also made suggestions about the basement moisture levels and concrete that will help to preserve the life of the heater. Leopoli's did not conduct business that way. He was fair, efficient and knowledgeable. His license and insurance is in place. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

After having Joint Way install a split system in my house, the only question I was left asking is…read morewhy I took so long to get it started. The short version of this review is that Alex and his team make things easy. They provided top quality service, at reasonable prices, and were done quickly! The slightly longer version is after several years of talking about getting a split system to replace the various window units I'd been using, I finally pulled the trigger this year. I had several contractors out to provide estimates. Right out of the gate, I appreciated Alex's approach. While the other contractors discussed various options with eyeball estimates, Alex actually took a few measurements to come up with ideas which could actually be implemented. As a result, he presented a few ideas on how to run things that others missed and (imo) offered the best end solution. Obviously pricing is going to be specific to the job at hand and a variety of other factors. In my case, I found the pricing to be very competitive while offering name brand and better equipment than others. A small deposit was required, which is fairly standard. When it came to installation, the team worked hard, quick, and clean. I got a 4 zone unit covering my Master bedroom, office, guest bedroom, and living room. They worked a slightly long first day to get all the physically installation done (along with all the loud work, so to speak). They came back for a half day to tie up the electrical, help me get the wifi setup, and wrap up. Regarding the electrical, in my case they needed to add a subpanel and when they noticed a few things not done quite right in my existing box, they made the necessary fixes/adjustments! The end result was top quality across the board. I'm comfortably sitting in the A/C as I type this review. Happy to provide Joint Way a 5-star review and have already recommended them to a few friends considering split systems. Hopefully this review and the accompanying few photos help your decision making process.
