I slammed on my brakes, and went in to check it out. Holy guacamole! Their hanging baskets are regularly $14.99 each, or $12.99 each when you buy 3, so 50% off made them $7.50 or $6.50 each! No joke. I ended up spending $90 and almost couldn't fit all the plants in my car. I thought I had plenty, then I was driving up Ryan 3 days ago, July 8, and saw a sign for 75% off. You have got to be kidding me?! Screetch!!!!! Pulling over again. This time I only spent $60, and again had a time getting it all into my car. This place is awesome!!!!!!!!!

I was appalled that he would say this out loud in front of customers. Not to mention the demeaning tone he used towards the worker. I put my flowers down that I had picked out and left. That part didn't go as well as it should have, the weather turned up the heat, and for as much as I watered: still the plants were charred by the string of super sunny, hot days. I was looking for an actual storefront but this is a tiny house on N. Inkster Road with a tiny parking lot in the back. There are bonsai plants big and small as well as Asian pots and decorative figurines. The day I was there the shop was in a bit of disarray. I wonder how long this couple will be able to manage things on their own. It would be so sad to see a gem like this go. I highly recommended supporting this small business if you are looking to buy bonsai plants.

They have one storefront that is right up against the windows looking out and then one storefront that's in the interior of the market and mainly only gets artificial lighting. Both are full of plants to the brim, but this is a super helpful way to shop for plants! Which environment does your space / wherever you're going to put these plants better replicate? Natural daylight or artificial light? Whichever is the answer, you start with shopping at that storefront. It's so fun and innovative. The Plant House also doesn't pull any punches. They have great stock of all kinds of plants, although in my experience with a lot of the local plant shops around the area, I would say their plant stock & plant accessories (pots, etc.) are relatively standard. But, that could also be because they are located in such a busy market, and the more unique plants probably sell out way quicker than the more traditional houseplants. What I feel like sets them further apart from other local plant shops is the fact that they offer unique eco-friendly products for your household as well. It's definitely a must-shop in Rust Belt Market, and I love that they have been in this space for as long as I can remember, when so many other vendors come & go.

I had some "top soil" delivered from here. I called the day before I wanted it and the man on the…read morephone asked me to call back first thing the next morning to place my order. He said he could give me an idea of when I'd receive it if I called back then. So how many people ordered after my initial call? Because I called back the next morning, at 8:05, and was initially told there was no way I'd receive it that day, that their delivery schedule was full for the day. I went over my previous day's conversation and eventually I was able to receive my "top soil" that day. I use quotations because it wasn't really the best top soil. At first it looked okay but as we spread it around our yard we were able to see all the rocks in it. It looked like pea gravel was mixed in with the dirt. What am I going to do now that it's all spread out in my yard? I just hope grass grows.
