Today, I visited the Lane Bryant store in Braintree, Massachusetts, and had one of the worst customer service experiences. There were two employees behind the register, one of whom appeared to be a manager. Neither employee acknowledged my presence, despite the fact that I--and at one point another customer--were the only people in the store. I stood in line for a noticeable amount of time while the manager continued working on something else rather than assisting me. At no point did she acknowledge me, make eye contact, or offer even a simple statement such as "someone will be with you shortly." The lack of basic courtesy and professionalism was disappointing and came across as both disrespectful and dismissive. I have been a loyal Lane Bryant customer for several years, but after this experience, I will not be returning.

It is casual & jeans over on one side & then More Dressy & Lingerie to one side, there are several seats for the dressing rooms which are also amply spaced... I have never had an OMG get out of my face experience there with the reps as I have had at other spots... I would LOVE to give Lane 5 stars, I just dont love shelling out a rather large portion every time I go, considering to me this is the ONLY spot to buy Big Girl Fashion I am forced to go here ( I wont do any of the fake, Cheesy Plus size Bullshit that other stores sell ie. Dots, Tellos, Rainbow - thats all CRAP!) I Love Lane and their styles are always Perfectly Up to date & Very Fashionable, I just want more Clearance and this store has TONS of it, its just soo much that I cant seem to dig through without it all falling on the floor... I recently ordered clothes online from Gap and Old Navy, for my children. Both orders were canceled…read moredue to items not being in stock. Both times, there was no email, or communication sent that either order was canceled. When I spoke with Old Navy today, I was told they don't deal with those issues. When "transferred" to who does, I was disconnected. That is horrible customer service. I was left waiting for two packages that were never coming. While I was checking to see when they were arriving, it would be really nice to send a customer something saying the order was canceled.

When I first entered the store, I said hello to the first girl. No response. Not even a smile. My daughter showed the other girl a pic of a dress on her phone and asked if they had any in stock. Exact words, "if we do, it's on that wall." pointing toward the back. Next, when I found a similar dress, we needed help getting it because it was high on the wall. She immediately came over and demanded I not pull on the dress because I was going to tangle them. I am in my 50s and never been spoken to like this from a young girl. I was barely holding it out...just enough so she could see the size we wanted. I responded by saying Yes M'am! and proceeded to tell her she needed to work on her customer service skills. We left after that. Windsor, be careful who you hire. No one wants to deal with sourpuss attitudes.

There were also lots of racks that had signs advertising 40% off so I would definitely say you could easily find some good deals here. There was another customer in the store who was telling my friend and me that she buys from there a lot and the clothes are long-lasting which tells me that the stuff here is of good quality. They had some accessories as well such as jewelry. I had already spent a bit more than I had planned to at another store in the mall so I actually didn't end up buying anything here but it was very fun to look around and I did see a few tops that I liked. However they really need to train their staff a little better, they had only 2 sales people on the registers that were dealing with difficult transactions when they clearly could and should have open the 3rd one. When it was finally my turn, I guess I had the Assistant manager helping me. Only because the other salesperson kept interrupting my transaction asking for help & she would stop to help her. The sales section is large, a whole back room, but no matter what day I come, it appears picked over and anemic. The sizes tend to be heavy on the XL and the XS, with not much variety in the middle. The staff are distant, but generally non-offensive. My boyfriend, however, experienced a unreasonably poor service moment last Saturday. A sales woman told him that J Crew was having a "private sale" event that would guarantee him 75% off summer suits, if he opened a J Crew credit card. Boyfriend, not needing a suit but enticed by such a fantastic deal, tried on, and subsequently fell in love with a linen, navy suit. He confirmed with the sales lady again that it would be 75% off. When said boyfriend attempted to purchase the suit - he was rudely rebuffed by the cashier/manager. Boyfriend explained that he confirmed the deal with the the sales woman, but cashier behaved as though my boyfriend was trying to pull a fast one. He did not call over the cashier, and he scolded my boyfriend for believing such a sale would ever exist. Needless to say, no suit was purchased. Pro tip: generally credit card offer deals gain you about 30% off purchase, so if offered more, ask to speak to a manager before you become emotionally connected to the garment in question. Fluky Saturday aside, this store generally is pretty good. J Crew seems to be having a ton more sales recently, ever since their stock listing price plummeted, and their clothes have gotten a lot more adventurous and bohemian in recent months. This store is generally more peaceful and quiet then some of their more urban situated stores.
