My mom bought me a dress and sent it out to me in CA. She asked the person working in the shop if she could return it a few days late if it didn't work for me, and she was told that it would be possible. Well, it turned out the cut & color didn't suit me, so I sent it back. This little well-traveled dress is back in NH now, just three days after the 14-day deadline, but the owner is telling her no returns are possible, not even for store credit. We're stuck with a dress we don't want because of a mis-informed employee and stringent policies. Buyers beware.

The sales associate advised that "most of this section is marked down, I just didn't..like, mark them." When I asked at what point you find out how much an item costs she responded I would learn at the check out and to just "shop like I normally would." Here's the thing, when I shop 'normally' I know what I am paying for an item. I get that if you're shopping in a whale belt store in a preppy town you should expect to pay too much for a tissue of a tank top. What you don't expect is the sales woman to act like you're Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman having a nice spree on Richard Gere's dime. The prices, the "Boys Lie" toxic feminism merch and the attitude of the sales women is all that is wrong with society wrapped up in a tidy little pink rhinestone studded bow.

Got it home and noticed in the brighter light that it had very significant sun stains all the way across the neck and down the arm. We weren't in the market for anything, so we left empty handed, but it was a beautiful store to look around in. The owner was very friendly. He greeted us when we entered the store and let us know he would help with anything we needed. The store was fairly empty, it was only us and maybe two other people browsing. Everything was very nice, but the merchandise was very expensive. I didn't look at an item that wasn't out of my price range. If you're the market for high end home goods and decor then Simon Pearce Retail Store has some really nice stuff. If you're on a budget, like me, this isn't the shop for you.
