I couldn't even bend down properly, or even cross my legs without helping it out with my arms. Andy massaged the affected area with precision and skill. After an hour it seriously was relieved- not 100% but amazing results after. I didn't know you could do so much in one session. You're not going to get a dim light, massage oil etc here. It is a sports massage place. I didn't realize what it was when I booked but I love the concept and I wish more of them exist- as I know that they do in other countries. Thank you for helping Andy- I really appreciate you and will see you soon!

Staff was super friendly, I didn't have to wait long for my appointment. I didn't feel rushed or anything like that once I got in. They answered my questions, did an assessment, and I left with some great feedback and direction regarding my condition. All in all, a great experience.

I now feel that I am obligated to disclose this shocking level of unprofessionalism. FYI, the owner had no problems misusing my husband's patient files to call me 3-4 times a day on my cellphone while I'm at work due to my yelp review. He also took the time to harass call my husband on his cell multiple times a day as well. The first few times he called I was at work and unable to answer calls. I did think of calling him back because he is just concerned for his business, but then life got busy and I didn't call back. That's when then the calls kept coming...several times during the week and each time would be 3-4 calls. Then I knew it was NOT NORMAL. I sent a message via yelp to say stop calling so then he resorted to calling from blocked numbers and leaving voicemails. The last call I got was as recent as 10:45AM today! I have proof via premium voicemail services and caller ID which is date/time stamped. So yeah blocked calls and then a voicemail that states his name. Not so stealthy. I also have messages from him via yelp referring to my husband's patient files and admitting the errors made by his office. So much for not being able to locate the patient file or not being able contact us. I am meticulous with my record keeping (unlike someone) so I do have the 4 different copies of receipts issued from his office with wrong information with the last one corrected with white out! I also have copies of the submission of claims they sent to my insurance company with the incorrect/missing info that did not go through. I didn't want to be involved with all this but my husband was the patient and he is under my insurance plan. That is how the owner got my private cell number. So my concerns of our personal information being mishandled is not unfounded. A normal business would say sorry you had a bad experience let us try to make it up to you and maybe try to do better with future clients. NOT harass calling, victim blaming and denying/dismissing that the incident happened. There was nothing to be resolved and the situation was just getting progressively worse with every phone call. I think the owner finally got that when I messaged via yelp today to say stop calling, I'm not answering and you are misusing my husband's patient files by calling me on my private cell number. BTW, I sent the insurance claim electronically myself and have been paid from my insurance company. Hopefully I won't be audited in the next 12 months, otherwise I will have to forward the copy of the receipt with the white out corrections. Bet the insurance company is going to love that when they see it. LoL

Amy is amazing. I think I've been going to her for over 8 years now for my physiotherapy needs, and…read moreshe's consistently been able to address whatever issue I've had. While I've never had a serious enough condition that requires Pure Motion's multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment approach, I have torn ligaments or spasm-ed my back or just had nagging joint and muscle pains that multiple visits to good RMTs couldn't fix. And that's when I turn to Amy. Because she is, first of all, a fixer. I'm always amazed at how she seems to know, just by watching how I enter the treatment room, what my particular issue. For example, in my most recent visit a couple of weeks ago, I sat down and she asked me about the right side of my back (which is where the pain was) even before I began describing what the issue was. But she's not just skilled at diagnosing, she's also great at actually relieving the pain. I remember a couple of years ago I was having problems with my back, and Amy diagnosed it was mainly because my glutes weren't firing. She simply tapped a few muscles here and there and voila: dormant body parts activated, overtaxed muscles given some help, pain relieved. After multiple visits to other practitioners, a 30 minute session with Amy fixed things. But what I think really distinguishes Amy is that she seems to be a genuinely good person. "Good" seems like such an underwhelming form of praise these days given all the hyperbole going around, but I mean it in its truest sense. For example, when I go to Amy, I can do the exercise she prescribed for me during the session. But my memory (mind and muscle) isn't that good, so Amy sends me videos post-session of the exercises I need to do so I can just follow along. Another example: When Amy started offering virtual sessions during the pandemic, she offered to give a refund to anyone who didn't feel better after a session with her. Who would take on that risk for a service so inherently in-person? A final example: Me writing this review is only because Pure Motion (which Amy founded) said they'd donate a meal to the North York Harvest Food Bank for a review. From a business perspective, that doesn't make sense at all. If you want your clients to review you, give them the benefit directly. Pure Motion would likely get more reviews if they, for example, gave a client a 45 minute session for the price of 30 minutes, or something like that. Yet they choose to do something that's of a greater good and give a meal to NYHFB. And I, despite not getting the benefit of it, am writing this review. And that's when Amy becomes truly amazing. Her excellence in diagnostics and physiotherapy, coupled with her innate goodness as a person and her caring for patients, moves Amy into a much rarified air: she is not just fixer but healer as well.

I do not write reviews but I'm going to be signing up for a yelp account just to leave this one…read morereview because I believe in the healing power of Amy. I was referred to her by a friend a while back after an accident had me experiencing a lot of back, neck, and wrist pain. I saw her a few times and she was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, passionate about healing, and most importantly effective in therapy/treatment for the pain I was experiencing. Her techniques have been lasting and successful. Would highly recommend to anyone suffering in pain.
