In keeping with my pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, I've recently gotten into Olympic weightlifting…read more Sadly, along with this new hobby has come an injury or two, so in comes MSK Clinic. I visited the clinic in person to book my first appointment. I let them know what I wanted to have looked at, then they promptly scheduled me in with one of their available doctors. They appear to have enough doctors on staff that finding openings isn't the hassle it often is. During my first appointment, I let my doctor know that I was experiencing some knee pain. I further explained that I couldn't quite pinpoint the causal event. After some short conversation about the type of pain, where it was located specifically, a discussion of what activities would aggravate the injury, and direct stimulation of the area, she was able to identify the cause and explain to me in approachable terms what the injury was. But what good is a diagnosis without relief, right? The first treatment started with some massage therapy to the knee and surrounding muscles. She then made use of a "shock therapy" machine, which is a tool used to rapidly impact the injured area, thereby breaking up scar tissue. What I'm told is a "class four" laser was used to stimulate healing. Importantly, she also introduced me to several exercises, meant to strengthen associated muscles so that I could avoid a similar injury in the future. To be honest, after the first appointment, I didn't feel much difference if any, but regardless, I gave it a second go, and thank God I did. We essentially went through the same procedure again, and as if by magic (but actually science) I felt zero pain by the end of the session. Sadly I'm not Wolverine, so this complete relief was temporary, but the progress was undeniable. All in all the experience was very positive. I should say that I've never been to see a chiropractor prior to this experience, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. That being said, I think they do fine work here, and I'd be happy to recommend them.

I sprained my neck on the Go Train (yes on the Go Train, can you believe that?!) prior to my business trip and I felt very uncomfortable. My whole neck, shoulder and upper back were so tight. Thank god I found Dr. Choi and Dorothy Ho! Dr. Choi is a chiropractor at this clinic and she knows her stuff, a few shock here and there with the machine (I don't have a science background!), massage and neck adjustment really eased the tension a lot. She also teaches you a lot of stretch moves to strengthen the impacted area so you feel better quicker and prevent future injuries better. To help speed up the recovery process, she introduced me to the RMT that works at the clinic also, Dorothy Ho. Dorothy Ho is probably one of the best massage therapists i had, the initial visit assessment was very detailed and once you lay on the massage bed just a few push here and there and she already knows which area is tight and require a work on. She did my whole upper back, shoulder and neck so well that I felt a lot better the next day despite the soreness. Overall, MSK clinic is very professional, clean and client oriented! This will now my go to place to get my massage and chiro treatments! Make sure you call to make an appointment in advance!

You can DIY your own scented massage oil, made with formulated plant extracts and essential oils through sustainable and wildcrafted botanicals. I personally chose Lavender (main), Bergamot (2nd), and Ho Wood (base) for my experience, and it smelled really nice, even my masseuse said so lol My masseuse, Hannah, knew exactly where my knots were, definitely around my neck and shoulders, and I'm not surprised - my lower back as well, from all the computer and sitting!

Was referred here by my girlfriend & absolutely enjoyed my first massage at Healing Place few months ago. It's nice that you get to choose your own essential oil preferences. I brought my mom here this morning since she's been feeling some shoulder pain & she also loved it. They had a last minute hiccup as we booked online the night before & the therapist wasn't aware. An alternate RMT arrived within 15 minutes to cover the appointment. I couldn't get an appointment myself, but they actually had a private room with a TV for me to comfortably wait in. Highly recommend if you're looking for an RMT place in Markham!

I've expected a mundane assessment and some hands on work but did not expect the extent of empathy and patience demonstrated from the time I entered the clinic, and throughout the session. You might not be able to stop the punishing passage of time, but at least you can get your body better adapted to it. Myodetox is the perfect place to help you with that. I've been going to Myodetox for months, and let me tell you, they absolutely know what they're doing here. My physiotherapist, Sabrina, is fantastic and I have been going to her regularly for months now. I've gotten random aches and pains magicked away in a 30 minute session. I have fixed issues that lasted for years in the span of weeks. She actively listens to your issues and prescribes the best treatment to target them by employing a mixture of hands-on treatment, exercise assignments, and even acupuncture. I also recently started seeing their new RMT, Mateo, and he's a perfect addition to anyone's wellness journey. I've had massages before, even massages at doctor's clinics, and yet none of them felt as clinical and effective as Mateo's. You're not just lying on a table and falling asleep for an hour. Mateo asks you about your problems, actively treats them, and (much like the physio sessions) assigns you homework exercises to keep the problems away. My back will be eternally grateful to his work. Myodetox definitely is on the higher range of the price spectrum but you will get the most bang for your buck. And if you've got benefits, there is no better place to use them!

I had some issues with going to the bathroom and I always thought doing kegels was the right thing (as social media hypes it a lot). You really need to get a proper from a physiotherapist to tell you what's right and not right for you specifically. Turns out, I had to do a different set of exercises because my muscles were too tight and doing kegels would have given me the opposite effect.
