BAD quality food, WORST service ever, 100% NOT authentic I don't write review except extremely good for recommending people. This time, I write because I don't want people to repeat my WORST experience (end Feb 2020). 1) FOOD (Bad quality and way too far to call it authentic): (i) Sashimi (Salmon & Tuna): WARM Sashimi. How could they serve customer this? They were warmer than the room temperature and JUICY. I suspect that they defrosted the vacuum packs sashimi right after we ordered therefore they were warmer than room temperature. (ii) Octopus Ball (EUR 7-8): too Soft and oily. Should be crispy outside and soft inside with a pc of octopus stuffing. Basically it tasted like just a flour ball, no octopus and taste at all. (iii) Deep Fried Chicken (EUR 7-8): We could see that, they only deep fried 3 pc, then torn them off to become 7-8 small pcs. So all of them were not "whole pc". Like i won't accept McDona*ds to sell me 12 chicken nuggets by cutting half from 6pc. (iv) ShabuShabu (Jap hotpot): Its not on the menu, can still order as EUR 27/person. We ordered for 2, then the portion came very small, only about 10 small pc of beef, and the pot is nearly empty just a few pc of veggies and very diluted soysauce soup base (The pic earlier in tripadvi**r gallery of this shabushabu is not relevant anymore). 2) DRINKS: Only warm tap beer was available (EUR 4.50). No cold glass either. We were forced to pay more and "upgrade" our beers for "frozen top beer" (EUR 5). Also, we ordered two bottles (780ml) of Sake which costed EUR 70 each. This is overpriced. 3) SERVICE: EXTREMELY SLOW and RUDE. The short hair waitress was very rude right in the beginning. Lied about "no cold glass for warm beer", simply bought us a few more "warm beer" even we asked her not to. Lied about Shabushabu "will take 45 mins to prepare" and hope us not to order?!?? All food and drinks took super long time to come. She said, "no english, nur Deutsch order Japanische." Then we spoke German with her, and she couldn't understand ?! When we ordered a sake bottle, she said in german, meaning as, "a bottle? But it is EUR 70 per bottle". WTF??? We paid EUR 288 for 4 and we left with angry stomachs, also we hope that we didn't get FOOD POISON from the WARM sashimi. We complain to the restaurant of the boss (around 55yo japanese man with a beard), but he pretended he heard nothing from us also. Maybe this short hair waitress is his gf or something. Sorry, this is 100% not japanese standard service and food. Every EURO we spent there is a waste.

Awesome Japanese food! You have to experience it your self. And even if you're vegetarian they make up something just for you.

Having had my fill of beer, I just wanted a glass of seltzer (or mineral water or whatever you choose to call it). Now, don't get me wrong, I love Germany but everywhere they seem to serve water in tiny glasses. I wanted a giant glass of water...and the awesome bartender set me up with a half liter glass full of sparkling water. So I had my water, which helped a lot and now I needed food. Luckily, even in my state I was able to read the menu and see they had a cheeseburger and fries platter. I know, not Bavarian but at that point, all I'd had all day since breakfast was one of these ginormous pretzels and the skin off of some roast chicken. The food was tasty (as far as I can recall) and it really helped getting some food on my tummy. Aside from the water and food, what made this place great was the service. The bartender, whose name I regret that I didn't get, was amazing. She was so nice and friendly and really took care of me. I'm sure I looked like another tipsy American tourist but she was a sweetheart. She had short hair and glasses and maybe some tattoos. Anyway, she's the real deal. There was some music that was nice too. Overall, a nice, friendly, clean and welcoming place. To be frank, it can be intimidating to enter a big German beer hall by yourself because it seems everyone knows one another and you're an outsider. Coming here was the exact opposite...I felt welcome right away. Definitely recommend this place!

I'd give four stars for the food and beverage, and zero stars for the service…read more We really just wanted to find a local pub to post up at, with a good beer list and maybe a small selection of nibbles. Munich has no shortage of beer halls, and a wide variety of restaurants, but we wanted a pub. A no-frills, come-as-you-are pub. The Royal Dolores was supposed to be that. It can be a bit tricky to find, if you come in the wrong door (which we did). Luckily, the nice man at the host stand walked us to the entrance of the Dolores, and told the waitress in the doorway that we were looking for a table. She got us squared away fairly quickly, which we appreciated. We were at one of the tables by the door, and it was warm. It was such a good start, but it all went downhill from there. We were seated at about the same time as a family of four, who were given the table next to us. We both placed orders at about the same time, and we both spent the rest of our evenings trying (and failing) to flag down the waitress. We each ordered a Löwenbräu Dunkel to start, and decided to share two of their tapas plates: the Dream of Schnitzel and the Fromage de France. I lost track of the amount of time it took for our beers to be delivered to our table, and stopped trying to track time when it came to the food. The Dolores isn't very big, and they weren't all that busy when we got there, so we were at a loss as to why the service was so bad. At one point, the mom at the table next to us leaned over to ask for our help flagging down the waitress, if we saw her before they did. The Dunkel wasn't that great - it had the flat flavor that always reminds me of a brown ale, though this draft did have just a tiny bit more flavor. My husband didn't really like the beer at all. He had planned on ordering a different beer to finish the night, but with the aforementioned missing waitress, it was impossible to do. The Schnitzel was delightful, and the cheeses were good (the sauces they served with the cheeses stole the show, to be honest). I wasn't particularly hungry at the time, but my husband wanted something to nibble on while we reclined and drank - that was the plan when we arrived, at least. I know we weren't the only ones bothered by the terrible service - the family next to us made it a point to tell the person who finally stopped to help us - not our waitress, by the way - about the amount of time it took for us all to receive our orders, and the fact that we were ignored the entire evening. It's unfortunate, too, because we both really wanted to like the Dolores, just given its location and the fact that it was the closest thing to a pub we could find at that time. It really only takes one thing to ruin a night for people, though.

The service is fantastic. We always just get beer here, but this time we decided to ask for their espresso martini. They have never made an espresso martini there before but said they would be able to do it, we saw them in the back pull out martini glasses from boxes that have never been opened, they completely went out of their way for us and made us one of our favorite espresso martinis we had in our whole trip to Europe! 10/10 for fantastic customer service! We will be back soon!
