It's one of the best ways to get around reasonably. Do not bring a car to Miami Beach. Parking is expensive and not available. Take the bus. Clean, cool and frequent. There is a lite rail but it costs more, the bus system is great. Check it out and get a bus pass before you come into town, they are hard to find locally, only at a few local markets. This route circles the entire South Beach area and it has been one of the best services that you can find in the beach. It is so convenient! If you are ever on one end of the beach and want to get to the other the best way to get there is to just hop on the Local. No need to walk in our 90+ degree weather or move your car if it really is in a great parking spot. Cons -What keeps it from being a 5 star rating? Although most buses are in good shape, there are a couple that are dirty..graffiti, wear and tear and I know I have seen a couple of roaches in the back of one bus. ick. Sometimes the buses don't run 10-15 minutes apart, they are back to back, so you have to wait ages for the next one to pass by. But that is the exception not the norm. Pros - It is only 25 cents. It goes down West Ave from Publix and then down Alton and up Washington and through Dade Blvd. Depending on the time of day it runs every 10-15 minutes. It has a/c. For those who ride a bike, they do have a bike rack in the front of the bus. Great for going to the beach if you live on the west end. It normally is not very packed and all sorts of people use it. Not like the the metromover in downtown/brickell which serves as housing for our homeless population at times. All in all very good service for a very important local convenience. Check it out.

I was able to catch the trolley a couple of times, but no matter what time of day I caught it, It was packed. Standing room only. Sometimes it was so packed that the driver just passed me at while I was at the stop and just waved me off. The trolley was relatively clean,, but it appears that there are not many rules, at least ones being enforced. I saw people on the trolley with lots of luggage and even a motorized scooter. The trolley has clearly marked stops, for the most part, but appeared to not be on any type of schedule. There would be 30 to 40 minutes between trolleys, then you would have trolleys 2 back to back. I would say that I was able to catch the trolley about 50% of my attempts. You can track the trolley's movement via the app to keep you updated as to where they are at in real time. The trolley is ADA compliant and most have a lift in the back. They also have A/C, which is a plus. I almost wish that they would charge a small fee like a dollar to ride, to free up some space. It appeared that some people were riding because they were just bored. Anyway, I love this concept and that people have an affordable way to get around the city. I just wish there was more space available on them and that heir schedule was more reliable.

In March 2026, after my flight had landed at Miami International Airport, I requested an Uber ride through my phone app. Unfortunately, the driver drove to another part of the airport, despite my standing at the correct spot, messaging him the name of a nearby sign, and his seeing my blue dot on his screen. Eventually, he found me. The ride took 28 minutes, and it cost $33 plus a tip. The driver did make courteous conversation, drive safely, and did not give me a low rating.

She's an Uber One member (full $120 membership cost credited by Amex). 3. We both earn Delta SkyMiles by riding with Uber. I ended up calling multiple Ubers despite not having the first two benefits listed above. Prices were reasonable with trips ranging from $16.93 to $30.95 after tip. I noticed coming from the airport, I was charged $0.66 for the "Dolphin Expressway SR836 - 17th Ave. Eastbound" (standard SunPass rate) and a $2.00 "MIA Airport Surcharge."

Our friends had a regular room and theirs was pretty great, as well. Both were large and clean. The regular room included a small kitchen and a living room that was separate from the bedroom (but no door division). The Penthouse was one (very) large room with a private sun deck and fantastic shower. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were clean. Staff was attentive. You really couldn't ask for anything more in a hotel. We were so pleased with our stay that we ended up extending our trip an additional night. The pool is small -- but it's located on the roof and has several chairs, which are good for laying out. If you want to swim, you can use the nearby Shelborne, which is gorgeous. The hotel is in a great location and just a few short blocks from many restaurants and bars. We're already talking about going back!

Two pools and a beach with chairs and umbrellas that were free. Always the same problem with people saving chairs with towels. We booked a double queen suite but was told none were available. They offered us a one bedroom with a layout couch. Also $100 off the quoted price. I slept on the pull out and they put a mattress pad on which made it tolerable. This room also had two bathrooms so that was a plus so my friend and I each had our own. There is a restaurant there but we didn't try it. Also a coffee and ice cream pastry Wallace was on the lobby. In the front lobby there was a sunken bar which was nice when you came back and wanted a cocktail before going to bed. You can order food and drinks on the beach but I would walk up to the pool bar to get the drinks so they aren't melted when they get to you. It was a decent place, walkable to other hotel's restaurants if you don't mind a half a mile. Clean, nice staff and the decor looked fresh. We did have a plumbing issue where it had a smell to our bathroom one day but they cleared it up quickly. My toilet would run automatically but I jiggled the handle and it settled.
