Took my fifth wheel trailer to J & S for several repair items. Rear AC not working, underbelly had become detached, slide out noise and a small water leak on the shower hot water line. They assessed the AC and needed to order a new one, repaired the underside belly pan and would repair other items when AC came in. Took several weeks for the AC to arrive, then they repaired all items, replaced the AC and resealed the roof after alerting me of the need. Couldn't be more pleased, they repaired everything at a reasonable price and did the work correctly the first time. I have now found my go to RV repair shop. read more

I brought in my RV to fix the Jacks system. They would not auto extend. They charged me around $800 to send the computer to get rebuilt, and had me come back a couple weeks later where they charged me an additional +$1,000. I got the RV home and put it in my heated shop. A couple months later I took it out of the shop and it was having the exact same problem. I called these people and they told me to go ahead and bring it in. I brought in again and when I went to pick it up, there was an additional bill for over $900. I couldn't believe it. I was in shock because they had just charged me all that money to do the repair. And now they were charging me again. I had no choice to pay because they were holding my keys and my RV hostage. I paid the additional money and brought it home,l. When taking it out a couple weeks later, it was doing the exact same thing. I've emailed this company with no response. I would not trust this place to do any kind of repairs to your RV. I was in need of replacement of 2 RV coach batteries while traveling through Portland. I called J&S based on Yelp ratings, and gave them my current battery type. To my surprise and delight, I was told to bring my RV in the next day. The task took about 1 hour to complete and I left with new Interstate batteries installed. A few weeks ago J and S installed a new hot water heater and toilet in my 2005 Class C. The first time I turned on the hot water heater, I thought it wasn't working because it ran so quietly! They did a sloppy, sloppy job on my vintage trailer. You can see drippy caulk from the window edges and on every screw on the window trim. Charged me $300 to pack wheel bearings and put new caulk around the windows. Plus when I went to unlock my trailer, they had jammed the key in somehow and now I can barely open it. The key is all scratched up and it doesn't want to work in the lock. I'm very unhappy with their work. read more

Working with Jeff an Sandra was a great pleasure. Jeff worked with our insurance company, which was not easy, and full of delays caused by Covid, He handled it professionally and with urgency. After all of that he and his team did a fantastic job on repairing the body damage for the claim. He also tracked down a wiring short that I had and repaired that. I took my new RV in to have the WiFi antenna replaced. While researching a peer upgrade, the backup camera was unplugged. It worked on the way there but didn't when I picked it up. I called on my return home but he claimed he didn't touch the power. 6 week wait to get it back in. He admitted he moved the seat which is how it got unplugged, but still charged me $270 to plug it back in. Not only did our trip get shortened by a month, but he charged me to fix what he broke! I'm not a stupid woman who naively pays a mechanic to screw me. read more

I just bought a used Motorhome and needed a detailed inspection of all it's systems prior to the sale completion. I took it to J and S as it was close to where I was staying. These folks are great. Only used their services recently on our A-liner camping trailer. They manufactured a new part, resealed all windows, packed the wheel bearings. Have not had a chance to test the viability of the new seals, but they look brand new( of course). They worked quickly, were reasonably priced, knowlegable and friendly. R.V.s are a pain, but these folks make it bearable!! Very responsive to questions and concerns and updated us at every turn! They will be our go-to for repairs, which I hope to avoid, but that's not my luck!!! Definitely recommend them! read more

This is our second visit. Had a Protect-aTow installed, steering stabilizer, water heater throwing breaker-electrical issue, and a propane adjustment. Jeff is so patient with all my questions and frequent phone calls. Checking the water heater cost $120- seems expensive, but they did a thorough job checking it. Total bill $1300 is pretty reasonable over all. What I enjoyed the most was Jeff's instruction, willingness to teach me things and I feel I can trust him. read more

Before renting from this business, I checked out the place on Yelp and saw only one review - which was for 5 stars. Unfortunately, I didn't dig deeper to see the 'not recommended' one-star review, which so closely resembled our actual experience with the rental process. * Additional $75 fee - Sunday pick-up * Additional $75 fee - Exterior wash for bugs on front of trailer from last few miles. "The shop owner is saying that when the trailer was dropped off it looked a little dirty on the outside," we were told later via voicemail. We had wiped down the exterior in Sandy when we refilled the propane. Regardless, how does an exterior wash of a 19' trailer for bugs on front necessitate $75 worth of labor? Other trailer rental places only charge to wash if the trailer requires 'excessive cleaning' - a few bugs from the drive should be expected. * The fridge was not able to run on electric, but only on propane. We tried twice and could get a flame but not sustain it. Kah Nee Ta in July needs a fridge, and we ended up relying more on our trusty family ice chest. We told them this upon return, but no apology or credit was offered. * When we dropped off the trailer, we asked them to do a walkthrough at that time to confirm the trailer was being returned in acceptable condition to get back our entire deposit. We were told that the shop manager was very busy and would do it later himself. It was from this 'later' walkthrough that the exterior wash was deemed necessary. If we had been told at that time, we could have addressed it or discussed it and avoided a $75 charge. * They repeatedly addressed me by the wrong name. There are other trailer rental places in the greater Portland area. Use one of them. To quote the 'not recommended' (but accurate) review, "FIND ANOTHER RENTAL COMPANY!" I wish we had. read more

The gentleman helping me spent almost 2 hours on the phone, once the issue with my RV AC was identified, between the manufacturer and the extended warranty company making sure I got a replacement AC ordered. We rented a pop up trailer from J&S and they were great to work with. They loaned us the wiring adapter that we needed which was great. They quoted me a price for the week when I first contacted them but we only needed it for 4 days. In the end we ended up using for the week and they charged us an extra $50 from what the original quote was but were nice enough to credit back and stick with the original price. Stay away! J and S RV Repair also rents RVs. RV was damaged from previous rental. The front corner of the unit was smashed in. The toilet wouldn't stop running and would over flow. The biggest issue was the entire gray water tank falling off the RV. The owner admitted that the tank had come lose previously and that his resecurring job had obviously not worked. He refunded my full deposit, but when insurance wouldn't cover it wanted me to cover a more than $6000 bill. All this from a supposed repair shop! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

I was really let down after pulling my pop-up tent trailer out for the summer, and boy, was i Pissed. I had paid for a detail, when the trailer was in for a repair. i usually do my own through and end of camping clean up. last year, i thought it's in the shop, lets have it done. although the body work they did was OK, not impressed with the decals, they never cleaned out the inside of the trailer,even after they had worked from the inside. I Take Care Of My Stuff, found bent rails, that i know actually how they bent them, being a trailer repair shop should of known that. If i was not handy it would have probably cost me a couple hundred bucks to fix. I have State Farm And Have for Years, and I will do my best to insure peole need to know before TRUSTING in some one. We hit a tree on the slide out driver's side and damaged the popper that protects that slide. We were in Central point OR at that point; took to a great rv service place but they didn't have the parts we needed so I called ahead to portland Or and J&S fit us in the following Monday. Had them do some updating type work on an 11 year old motorhome. Re-sealed all exterior seams (including roof), removed peeling decals and then painted the design back on. Serviced all appliances and did some additional interior work. Everything was done professionally and to our complete satisfaction. Would highly recommend them for any RV repairs. read more
