My intake manifold is not attached to anything dude" He proceeds to tell me how he "isn't an asshole"..but that "this here is the part..attached to your CC" I roll my eyes and said..."that's my exhaust manifold. I never even mentioned exhaust. Thank you for your time. Im leaving" "No. Um. Well I have your info if you need us" "I wont" Took car to another very reputable shop...free diagnostics. I was right and it was fixed for AT LEAST Half..the price Rayco quoted me. The part? $300 Diagnostics $0 So right there...I saved $950 Quit messing with women. Some of us come from a long line of mechanical people. I know the difference between an intake manifold...and...an exhaust. Besides the $800 price difference in the parts. They honestly thought...that i would pay..that much money FOR THE WRONG PART. AND THEN WHAT??? $400+ FOR THE RIGHT ONE? I should report this to the BBB.. Oh...and Jacob(the owner. His phone was off and he was unavailable to give authority do a diagnostic for free..but that is ok I learned my lesson..for free...because I'm not just a female...I know what I'm looking at under a hood of a car. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Acting like you are doing people a good service...and the guys in the garage bay are using all kinds of colorful words...and attempting to screw over a woman. On July 26, 2026 John's Auto & Truck Repair, LLC. was called to the public marina dock in Long…read moreBranch on River Ln. to tow my Jeep and trailer due to expired plates on the vehicle. The tow truck driver was informed that towing the Jeep and the trailer would mean that my personal watercraft would remain abandoned and unsecured at the public dock. He informed me that I would be able to get the release paperwork from the Long Branch Police Department and retrieve my Jeep and trailer at 8 AM (when the business opens). The next day, I immediately proceeded to the Long Branch PD and got all of the paperwork in order with the appropriate registration. "Released" docs were issued. I called John's and spoke to the owner, who informed me that the company only accepts cash and that the invoice wasn't processed since he wasn't yet in the office. He mentioned he would call me back. As I sat in the bank parking lot for 30 minutes, I called the number back and spoke with an employee in the office. He mentioned that the paperwork wasn't completed, but that typical tows would be in the $300 range. I took out $500 as a precaution. When I proceeded to the business, he informed me that the owners were still on their way and would be there in 5 minutes. After 20 minutes of waiting, I proceeded back to the desk, confused as to why my Jeep was still not retrievable. John's Auto & Truck Repair has a contract with the Long Branch Police Department to serve the public according to its hours of operation. At this point, they were playing games about the pricing and holding my Jeep hostage while my personal watercraft remained docked and not secured at the Long Branch Marina. I informed the desk employee that I would be calling the Long Branch Police to rectify getting my vehicle back. He returned the "released" forms to me and encouraged me to give them to the police. The police dispatcher recognized my frustration and also my concerns for retrieving private property unsafely left at the city's public marina. Officers were dispatched to John's Auto & Truck Repair. Upon arrival, a husband and wife duo arrived on scene, exiting the car frustrated. The woman mentioned that we "spoke on the phone" and that they were "out getting parts." I was frustrated at this point because it was almost 9:30 AM. No citizen should have to wait 90 minutes at the whim of a towing company and cash deals with the police department to retrieve property. The total cost of keeping my Jeep and jet ski trailer overnight was $460.60. Luckily, I had the $500.00 on hand. The woman asked her husband to provide change, which he did so via his personal wallet. HMMMMM. Meanwhile, they had a difficult time retrieving my Jeep because they accidentally locked the keys in the vehicle. You really couldn't make the situation up. The police remained pretty silent on scene given their Department's contracts with this shady business. Finally, I was able to retrieve my vehicle. The expired plates, however, were missing. The owner informed me that they were taken by the Long Branch Police Dept. He gave me the screws to put my new license plates on the vehicle. This company deserves to be audited for their bad practices and unprofessional behavior. I can't imagine how a citizen might engage with this company not knowing their basic rights. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

The last time I had an oil change they ran the codes and told me that I would have to get my entire catalytic converter and leaky radiator replaced or I would fail my next inspection, and quoted me $2300. So when the check engine light popped at EXACTLY the right time to cause my inspection to fail, I panicked and assumed that I would have to throw a ton of money at my poor little car to keep it street legal... ...enter Bradley's Auto Service, who diagnosed it as a simple exhaust leak. For less than the price of what AAA quoted me for the radiator alone they repaired the leak, replaced the radiator, and re-inspected the car (it passed this time, wooohooo!) in one afternoon. Now I don't have to worry about being pulled over, having poor commuters get stuck behind me while merging on the parkway because it takes fifteen minutes to get up enough inertia to go the speed limit, or waking up the whole neighborhood while driving down the street. And the whole thing has stopped shaking like it's about to explode which is a nice perk too I guess. Thank you Bradley's Auto! I am eternally grateful for your honesty and efficiency. Everyone always tells me that I can potentially get another 100k miles out of this car if I have it cared for properly and I was incredibly skeptical until today. What a huge relief.

Their prices are reasonable and on several occasion they have figured out intelligent ways to save me a substantial amount of money. One example, the shifter in my Lexus SUV went bad, Lexus only sells the entire shift assembly for well over $500. I was told the new tires would be at the store by 2 and that i could expect my car by 4. I don't hear from them so I show up to the store at 4 and they tell me that the tires were just delivered at 4 and that they will begin to put them on my car. about 15 minutes later they call back and tell me they once again got the wrong tires. At this point I asked to be refunded my deposit and to put my original tires back in my car. What should have been a 2 hour appointment turned into a waste of 6 hours of my only day off! I didn't even spend money but it feels like I deserve compensation for the waste of my time (except no way im going back to mavis). What upsets me most is that they failed to verify the correct tires at multiple points: before they were shipped, once they were delivered, and most importantly BEFORE THEY TOOK THE TIRES OFF MY CAR. This to me demonstrates a mismanagement of their facilities and neglect by their employees. Overall I am in the same place I started this morning, only more frustrated and annoyed i'll have to wait a week to spend another day off sourcing new tires.
