During the test drive, I noticed shaking and was told it was just from new brake pads. The car wouldn't start at pickup and needed a new starter, which they brushed off. I asked if they would attempt any repairs and was told flat out, "No." I'm sure the dealer will respond with, "Why didn't you bring the vehicle back within the 30 days?" And my answer to that is: I was assured it would run perfectly, I was under the impression I had 90 days, and as I am not a mechanic or transmission specialist, I never would have known there were such serious safety hazards and egregious deficits with the car. I probably would never have seen that on my own without looking for it. Billy took a look and said that the car wasn't going to pass the safety portion in it's current state. Slightly disheartening. But - and this matters - he said rather than failing me, he would order me a new tire, install it, and get me through the inspection portion. The tire came today, and I can tell you - I've NEVER seen anyone mount and balance a tire so efficiently. Literally under 10 minutes work, and he had it back on my Volvo. He also brought me into the shop to show me I had a slight bend in my rim - something that can be fixed and while probably not contributing to my wear issue, would make my ride more comfortable. Now obviously, with an alignment issue, just slapping on a new tire wouldn't fix the underlying problem, so he took the time to call another shop nearby, and set me up with another professional he knew and trusted. I can't tell you enough, how much this means to me as a consumer. Based on Billy's character alone, I know I can trust his recommendation - probably more so than any research I could do on my own. I'm very happy I took my car here for inspection - it's a location close to my office, and I was able to do everything on my lunch break. We brought our 2023 Toyota Prius to Venture to diagnose an intermittently failing heating system…read more Venture took it to a Toyota dealer to check if it was under warranty. It was not, and the dealer repair quote came to a startling $11,000. They said the compressor and condenser were damaged due to running the system after a hole (from a stone?) had caused all fluid to leak out. The parts and labor are specialized. Venture suggested our making an insurance claim. The adjuster's offer using aftermarket parts was much lower. We chose to have Venture do the repair with aftermarket parts for $2300 (competitive with the insurance offer). They returned the car to us with the interior detailed. Now, a couple of weeks later, the system continues to work reliably. Rich, the owner, is thoughtful and communicative, and kept us apprised of all details concerning the damage and the repair. We have been very happy with this shop and highly recommend them.
