After hurricane Ian, the property was flooded & he could not put the septic system in. I asked for a refund. He agreed, and said he would have to pay me back i installments. J & K Litton replaced our septic in Nov of 2016. in Sept of 2022, our septic began backing up. We contacted them to pump it out and thought nothing of it and went about our business. Less than a year later in July of 2023, our septic started backing up again. When this occurred, we knew there was a problem. My husband started texting/calling J & K Litton Septic Services Inc on July 24, 2023, to come take a look. They pumped it out and at first Mr. Litton claimed that it was a saturation issue. After we continued to having problems with it backing up, Mr. Litton told my husband that he thinks the system failed on the side closest to our driveway. He told us that he would need to dig it up to fix it. This was in August of 2023. Ever since then, Mr. Litton has told us that he will be by numerous times to fix it. We would wait and he would be a no call, no show. Then he started providing us with excuse after excuse on why he can't come by to do the work. He's doing a big job near Disney, he's going on vacation, he's having personal issues, the list of excuses keeps going on and on. On October 10th, Mr. Litton came and dug up part of the system near the driveway. He drilled once into the system and nothing came out, he then dug another hole and drilled again a second time. The water started flowing. Mr. Litton didn't close the hole back up. He told us to leave it like that so we could get some relief from the backups. He told us again that he would take care of it. My husband put some boards over the holes as a safety precaution. Fast forward to Oct 30th, after numerous messages back and forth with Mr. Litton, he still hasn't come by to fix the system and there are still boards in our yard covering up the holes. My husband told him with trick or treaters coming the next day, could he please come by and fix it. Mr. Litton agreed to come by. On Oct 31st, Mr. Litton showed up at our property. He and another man stood looking at the hole, had a conversation back and forth and left, less than 5 minutes later, never making contact with my husband. My husband put plastic horses over the holes, and we turned our porch light off so we wouldn't have any children visiting our home for Halloween. To this date, Nov 28, 2023, there are still holes in our yard and our septic is not fixed. Thanksgiving was ruined and now Christmas is right around the corner and with this not being fixed, our family continues to suffer. During the holiday season, our house is the brightest house on our street. We can't decorate our yard like we do every year for the holidays. We also won't be able to have our annual Christmas Eve celebration with 20+ people in our home. We have to run a pool hose outside to do laundry and the smell when the tank gets full is nauseating; it permeates throughout the house especially in our teenage son's room because the septic is right outside his bedroom window. Often times, our family will be taking a shower, and they look down to see the tub filling up with poop and pieces of toilet paper at their feet. Some may ask why go through all this? Why not just hire another company? This man has over 30+ text messages and conversations with my husband saying that he was going to fix it. This man installed our septic system in 2016 and we actually thought that HE was going to stand behind HIS work and repair it like HE said he was going to. We had to replace our drain field several months back. J & K did a great job. The office staff was friendly and the workers in the field were very professional. They asked for $0 down and payment was due after work was completed to satisfaction. Some other companies will try to ask for 50% down. Stay away from those type of companies. After getting several estimates, not receiving promised estimates, or getting sky high estimates, a realtor friend suggested J&K. Joe with J&K arrived promptly at the prearranged time, provided a reasonable estimate on the spot, and answered all questions thoroughly and with patience. I REALLY liked that tree removal was included in his estimate, and he would make arrangements for tree removal, instead of me having to contact someone. I called about a broken tank lid because of a minor "sink hole" over the tank area. It took four phone calls to finally connect with someone. After several text messages and phone messages, the tech arrived at my residence, without advance notice, I was not at home. He sent me pictures of the area, dug up and the hole exposed. After a week, he calls with a replacement cost of $1,800. I inquired about "patching" the hole, and he quoted me $100.00, and "I need to come out tomorrow morning before the rain". I never heard from him again. Meanwhile the area has remained as a potential trip hazard. This family owned small business deserves your business. Although, I left a message... Kim returned my call quickly and was able to schedule the very next morning at 8am. Technician called when in route as requested and was prompt and within the 1/2 hr. window. They showed up in a new pump truck (which is always a bonus) the older ones always are leaking oil or hydraulic fluid or the nasty stuff. No leaks on this truck. we contracted for a $300.00 septic pump out,but was charged$800.00 for a pump and seal.The tech Tom disconnected our alarm and said he would be back tomorrow with another one..
