I think the offerings here are the best. Steak tips, wings, sides all yummy. My go to's are: Caribelo steak tips. Caribelo wings, twice cooked potato skins, stuffed clams. If I had to pick one, i'd go with the Carabello wings. Spicy but full of flavor. Just wish they would ship around the US! read more

J&B is a little dream shop for carnivores. The meat is top quality, often just as good or, dare I say, better than we get in a steakhouse. Today we picked up a couple NY strip loin steaks and some burgundy marinated steak tips. "Melt in your mouth" is such a cliché, yet oh so appropriate. A little more expensive than some other butcher shops in the area (e.g. Tuckaway and McKinnon's) but worth it! Marinated chicken tenders and breast are highly recommended as well. There are extra flavours of tips, chicken, and pork tenderloin tips available in the prepackaged section of the shop. The clam chowder is divine! Very thick, but it's all cream, not pasty from too much flour. And big chunks of clams. Mmmmmmmm Haven't tried any other soups, as I never get past the chowder, but they all look good. Potato salad is nice too. Small fresh produce section is quite good. We've sometimes picked up some of the premade Angus burgers in the freezer section. Some might find them a bit bland as there's no seasoning, but that's personal preference. Nice assortment of locally baked breads and pies. We are not drinkers, so don't look much at the beers and wines available, but it seems a reasonably decent selection. Variety of seasonings, spice rubs, and BBQ sauces to choose from too. This place is always busy when we go in. But the staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice family business. :) read more

I went to jb butchers the other day and bought the house tips which in the past you could cut with a fork. Not the case this time. They were chewy and tasteless. For 14.99 a pound I think that's what you should be able to do. Won't be back. The produce they had didn't look very good either. I hadn't been there in at least 2 years due to a disappointing purchase at that time but thought I would give them another try. read more

I will never go back to J&B. I have only been inside a few times and was happy with their selection but twice I was very uncomfortable with employer's comments. I was so uncomfortable and humiliated by the woman behind the counter that I will not be back ever. read more

This butcher shop is as good as it gets! (like the 5 star rating example says). Every bit of meat I have grilled from here has been absolutely delicious. Staff is great and friendly. The place is always busy but you get in and out in no time. read more

What has this place done to me? I didnt eat red meat for years, simply because I 'didnt like it'. Thanks to J&B thats changed. The marinated steak tips, particularly the teriyaki tips, are unbelievable. You can cut them with a fork and they just melt in your mouth. The marinated chicken is just as good, lemon pepper or the house is my favorite. The employees are friendly, they are knowledgeable about their products and are willing to answer any questions you might have about the different marinades. They also often have coupons and specials in the local ValPack and the Community Value publications that run in the local papers. read more

I recently left my job in Merrimack NH and used to shop at Brothers Butcher as they are my favorite in that area. I needed to find a new butcher in the Salem, NH area that has delicious high quality meat and this past Sunday I went to J&B. I have to say, this will be my one and only place to get my meats from now on. I had the chinese pork and their spicy version of the Caribbean tips. Both were so tender and delicious! Tonight we will be having one of their marinated chickens. You guys rock and so much better than any of the Andover MA butcher shops or the guy in Windham! I'll be there every weekend to get my meats for the week! read more

I've been buying meat here for a few years, and I've never been disappointed. The steak tips--all marinades--are great; and there's no waste on them. I also want to mention that their catering is just as great as their meats. I hosted a baby shower and purchased two trays of their stuffed chicken--absolutely wonderful. Just needed to do the vegetables, rolls, salad, and Voila! a really nice dinner. Try their cranberry walnut chicken salad--great! read more
