I have a love/hate relationship with this place since I worked here during college so I don't typically go. Tonight we were feeling the mood for some izzos so I grabbed the keys and headed in. So the good- place was clean and we were quickly helped. The guy who made our food and the manager who helped us out as well were great! Cons- we went a couple of hours before closing so the chicken was a little dry. I should have known that though bc chicken takes a minute to cook and it was near closing hours. The rice also was crunchy so it needed to be cooked more. Besides this, my hubs enjoyed his burrito and the queso was delicious as I remember. Would recommend if you need a quick Mexican food fix but don't recommend going near closing hours. read more

Went in tonight around 8:30Pm I was CRAVING izzos since i'm pregnant and have been craving it for days now so we decided to go tonight on our way home, the girl rolling was too busy trying to pre close than make the customers food. I asked for a super taco combo, the girl barely pressed the flour tacos so i asked that they be pressed longer and after she put them in the press she walks off to continue pre closing. The manager ends up starting my order and right as we get done and i ask for queso on my tacos, that's when he proceeds to tell me they do not have queso. I used to be a Manager at izzos for 2+ years and i know it's very RARE that they are out of queso ESPECIALLY 30mins before close. it's seems they were too worried about closing than serving the customers. I don't know what has happened to Izzos franchise but you all need better employees and managers. i left the restaurant empty handed because why would you not tell us the queso is out before we started making our order. read more

We stopped by this location on our way back from visiting our grandchildren in the New Orleans area. They ARE open for (very spaced out) inside seating during the current stage of this "pandemic". We were greeted immediately, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We both ordered the smaller burrito, which I am happy to say they have sized down from what it was in the past. They were WAY too big for me before. This was just right. We got the "meal deal" which included chips and queso. The chips were good, as was the queso. I just wish for the gigantic portion of chips they give you, that they'd give you a little more queso to go with it. The food was fresh and tasty as always. Check this location out if you are in the area! The facility is new and clean. I checked out the bathroom, and they keep it clean as well. ***HEADS UP -- the directions to this location when we stopped by, showed it across the street from LIT Pizza. They are actually in the SAME BUILDING but behind LIT Pizza (makes sense since they are owned by the same people). I tried to change the location, but am not sure that it will work or not. It had been 3 years since I'd eaten at IZZOS, WHY!???! I guess I'd just forgotten how delicious it is, and how well seasoned the meats are, and how wonderfully chunky the guacamole is! Oh, the delicious, inexpensive, delights! I'm so happy to have Re-discovered it! I had regular sized steak burrito-layered with Mexican rice, black beans, pico, lettuce, sour cream, cheeses, mmmm, with chips, large guacamole, extra salsa and queso on the side. I would rate this place 5 stars but the Rita machine is always broken. WTF? Y'all like McDonalds with their ice cream machine. You're a Tex Mex restaurant, fix the dang machine. I got a chicken bowl and although they gave me a large helping of chicken it was as dry as cardboard. The guacamole didn't even taste like avocado. Food was terrible, the food was old and dry, seemed like it was there all day long, anything on the bar was fresh, half scoop of guacamole is over $3, so if they ask you guacamole is extra is that ok say no it's not ok! All the tables outside were dirty and some tables inside too and they were not busy at all. And then you have to leave tip like if they serve you on the table or they are refilling your drinks. read more

I had a long day of Mardi Gras parades, so I wasn't up to going out for dinner; even though I could've walked here from my hotel. I had my steak quesadilla delivered via Uber Eats, which was nice because the delivery fee that evening was only $1.99. As for my food, it was basic. Which I expected. It was lukewarm at best when I got it, but because I used a delivery service, I can't really say who's at fault. Generous portion, decent taste, but again...very basic. Update to Another first experience for me this week. After living in the Baton Rouge Metro area for the past 4 years, I've finally eaten at an Izzo's Illegal Burritos. Let's start off with the fact that this location is practically brand new. So, unsurprisingly, they're not 100% efficient during the lunch rush. Environment was bright and very clean (still new). Staff were friendly and helpful. Food. What can I say? Just normal food to me. Nothing mind boggling for me to rave on about, but it's tasty enough for me to add to my list of options to eat when I'm in the area. I ordered the burrito in a bowl with chicken, black beans, lettuce, etc. I had it with their habanero sauce. Very hot, but very good. Overall tasty and satisfying. (Forgot to take pictures because I was famished and busy sweating the habanero sauce ) Will come back occasionally, but with so many other options nearby it probably won't be too often. read more

Very disappointed. I went to go pick up a to go order, which still wasn't ready when I went to pick it up even though it was placed around 35 minutes prior. The place was near empty. I told the woman I needed to pick up an order. The I asked woman said "oh yeah" as she rolled her eyes and walked off. Finally I had a nice young guy helping me after 10 minutes of standing there and asked if I was helped. All this to get home and the cilantro ranch (which was the entire purpose of me choosing this salad) was not in the bag. Very frustrating to say the least!! read more
