    Not good kimchi jeage
    Juan J.

Yep, I dined alone here (business traveler on a Sat! I think I have friends? Don't worry about me!). I am not sure if I ordered the wrong things or I was semi-depressed from eating alone. The eel maki roll was nothing fantastic and I definitely caught them off guard with my kimchi jeage order. The kimchi wasn't flavorful so the soup was very bland. Restaurant was cute and service was good. I took a picture of the bathroom because the wall was that cute!

The mixed sushi/maki plate! I definitely recommend!

This place is all around very good! We were looking for a sushi restaurant in Madrid and glad we picked this one. The environment is very quiet and a nice change from many louder bars/restaurants we've been to in Madrid. We ordered a seaweed salad, which was delicious, and some edamame to start off. We then ordered a mixed sushi/maki plate and some vegetable noodles, which were both quite tasty. The service was very good, but my only complaint is everything is on the pricier side. The rolls are all around 13-15 euros, which is a bit more than I'm accustomed to in the Bay Area. Definitely recommend to everyone! Just be ready to spend a decent amount.

The sushi is average; the atmosphere is very hide-away romantic little place. Very nice wait staff but they didn't seem to know the Japanese names of dishes. The a la cart sushi was WAY too expensive... average 6-8 Euros per order for plain dishes... and no fancy items like uni or mirigai. Hand rolls are the way to go, two for a decent price, and definitely order set sushi.

This restaurant should definitely have two €€ signs next to it. I ordered the sushi menu del dia for 16€ which included; tuna and salmon sashimi 4 pieces of sushi and 4 pieces is California roll. It also included miso soup and a desert after( I ordered the green tea ice cream, delicious). All of my sushi was very fresh and delicious the California sounded boring but it was actually more of a deluxe version with more ingredients than your usual roll. My friend ordered a noodle dish for 12€ which she really liked but was disappointed that it was so small, and said that next time she'd rather order sushi. PS they had sriracha sauce! Hallelujah!

    Green Tea cake... YUM!

The Izakaya Han is really great! I mainly go because of their Korean food but I hear from my friends that their selection of Japanese food is also really good. The interior design is fantastic (see some of the pictures posted here) and I can recommend spending an evening here with friends. I'm so happy to have this restaurant in my neighborhood!

    Agedashi Tofu

This restaurant has the perfect environment, food and staff to enjoy a meal with friends or a couple. I have lived in China and tried so many different tofu. The fried tofu with soy sauce (Agedashi Tofu) was definitely one of the best I have tried. The California maki was an explosion of flavors, the veggies tempura and the Sake Don (rice with flambé salmon) totally made our meal perfect. The price of the dishes is a little bit high, but totally worthy. This is one of those restaurants you pay for the quality of the food you are eating.

Delicious sushi in a cosy restaurant, just outside of the busy shopping streets. The waitress was very friendly and quick to respond. Priced were fair, and the food was so good I couldn't help but order an extra dish even though I was already full. I warmly recommend this restaurant as this was some of the best sushi I have ever eaten!

Picked this place because I liked the idea of a Japanese twist on tapas, which I think is exactly what this was. They had a great selection of unique Japanese cervezas and many intriguing items on the menu so I was satisfied in that respect. My favorite thing here was probably the Yakisoba in "pad thai" sauce (which was more like a very sour, bitter generic Asian sauce). Although the ramen noodles they served with were uncooked, the warmth and spiciness of this dish hit the spot. We also got the tuna katsu which was pretty bland, the wagyu skewer which tasted too vinegary, and the chicken skewer which was covered in a sour guacamole/pico de gallo-like spread. The chicken skewer was pretty good. For dessert we didn't papaya tart with yuzu sorbet, which was delicious. The service was attentive and very helpful in guiding us through the menu in English. The waiter did not seem to acknowledge my spouse throughout the course of the meal though, which seemed strange (e.g. didn't offer to refill her water glass). Overall I thought the food was good quality and it's a solid place to grab a bite, but nothing was really memorable and I think there are better options in the area.

I truly have to highlight Pepe, Franco, and Grace for taking the time to speak to us and get to know us. The food was FANTASTIC. We ordered the seafood paella, jamon iberico, garlic shrimp, and sangria. The paella was filled with a ton of flavor which was DELICIOUS. Everything was fantastic, but the Sangria was spectacular, (probably one of the best sangrias I've ever had). At the end of our meal, Pepe brought us two liquor de Limon shots, which made our whole night!! Definitely recommend this place in the La Latina neighborhood. You won't regret it!

It is a great place to stop in for a drink and a quick bite, especially if you want something authentic and lively. When we visited, it was packed to the point where you were shoulder to shoulder with other guests and close enough to easily hear the party next to you. It adds to the charm if you enjoy that classic crowded European dining atmosphere, but it is something to keep in mind if you prefer more space.

StreetXO is Dabiz Muñoz in his most unbridled, borderline wacky mood…read more If DiverXO, the master restaurateur's three-star Michelin flagship, is the meticulously choreographed tasting menu with white-glove precision-- a culinary journey meets Alice in Wonderland-- then StreetXO is the same brain turned loose. A sort of rock 'n' roll meets 90's arcade meets "Big Trouble in Little China". It's louder. Faster. Beautifully messier. And all by ingenious intent. You don't just come here to eat. You come to get swept up and swept away by it all. The inertia is felt the moment one walks inside. The space is edgy and playful, like a grown-up video game that never grew out of its chaos. There's even a swing at the entrance for adults to sit in and take Instagram-worthy photos. My wife and I have, twice. Indeed, there are other options. One might partake of gentler balcony offerings, or tuck into one of many inside nooks in the ample lounge-bar area. But if you want the full StreetXO shenanigans-- heat on your face, hisses of searing pans, perfume of spice and smoke in the air, the full-force theatre of it all-- then plant yourself at the monster octagonal counter. Mirrors line the salon wherein patrons dine, so that everything and everyone can be caught munching, savoring, swigging, laughing, and relishing as if in one big, faceted, reflective stage. An open, inviting kitchen isn't just a floor-plan design. It's a deliberate showcasing of a culinary orchestra at the top of its game. Every movement is in synchronicity, firing out plates with a speed resembling chaos until the beholder realizes it's more like choreography. StreetXO's soundtrack is part of the engine. Music is loud-- thumping with a rotating mix of techno, EDM, and sizzling club beats that would never permit the room to settle. Sonic energy soars with a feverish tempo set by the kitchen. Fast hands ripping streams of tickets and flicking flamed-licked skillets. Bass-lines pound out rhythms as woks crackle and fire leaps from grills. Somehow it all seems perfectly synced: volume, velocity, and vibrancy. Epic dishes appear in front of mesmerized diners as if teleported by magic. The bar is lively, even frenetic. Yet it is an entertaining vibe. Chefs move with haste and purpose, never stopping, never drifting. Flames rise and fall in a sort of hypnotic dance. Smoke curls up and disappears. Oils shimmer in coppery pans. Every station feels alive, like the whole place is a bundle of kinetic pulses refusing to die down. A lead chef in all-black cooking attire anchors the momentum. Around him, staff in mint-white coats navigate through crowds with deft and focus as part server, part air-traffic controller. Plates glide in and out, darting like fragile doves through a storm. And over everything, you hear it again and again: "Voy, voy." It's the kitchen's heartbeat, "coming through", in a never-ending relay. Then you start noticing the precision lurking within all that speed. A tray of perfect seasonings arrives briskly. Bowls and plates are finished with remarkable acuity. No casual splashes, no guesswork. The runner in white handles each plate with steady grace in the middle of mayhem. And the tray is gone before one fully processes what one has just witnessed. Food is alluring, loud, colorful and flavorful-- unapologetically bold, like StreetXO. Management doesn't want you to eat politely. It wants you lean in (with full force). Indulge with enthusiasm. Use your hands. Embrace the messy joys. Duck Dumplings are the perfect example. They are presented on paper placemats, clearly meant to be eaten with fingers. It's a good form of primal. Crispy, crunchy outside. Soft, buttery inside. So delicious it resets your expectations mid-bite. Crab dishes are standouts, too. They disappear faster than planned because every forkful dares another. And then there are the Short Ribs. The mantelpiece. Forty-eight hours of slow heat make it deep, rich, and comforting in a way that feels unfair to everything else on the menu. While StreetXO moves at warp-speed, this delectable delight doesn't rush for anything. It's the star of stars. Even the drinks match Street XO's attitude. One smoky cocktail in particular stands above the rest. Smoke up front, with hints of cherry underneath. It is emboldened and dramatic. Yet curiously balanced and nuanced. The Nam Phrik brings a sharp, spicy-orange hit at the top that awakens everything else. By the time the meal ends, one is satiated, but also buzzing. It's as if you earned a siesta but don't want to take it. You want to keep indulging your senses. That's StreetXO. The cerebral, sophisticated DiverXO's more streetwise sibling. It's not for the timid. It isn't high-concept. It's high octane. Street XO is Madrid's knee-jerk response to full-contact lunch or dinner. And it is as much a spectacle as it is spectacular!

Our server was amazing in recommending many of the dishes and drinks. I also got a kick out of their cool straight jacket chef's attire. One word to describe the food here; it is very avant-garde (Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Singapore). Our favorite dish of the night was the Vieira Asada (scallop with a green sauce). Honestly, I don't think you will go wrong with any of the items on the menu. Love how they describe each dish as they present it to you. What stuck with me was that food is what you'd get in top-notch Michelin-starred restaurants but the atmosphere is far from those aloof feelings typical of those places, on the contrary, it's warm and feels like you're in your casual local bar with your best buddies. What is greater than having 5-star food but being relaxed enough as if you were at a friend's house? The service is attentive and friendly, the servers are patient and professional. They take their time to explain anything you might need and make proper recommendations. The plates are on a smaller size, so if you have a big appetite you will have to order quite a bit, however, every single item was a hit. Each dish is creative, with perfectly combined flavors, nicely balanced, textures on point, and the presentations are stunning. A work of art comes to your table every time. It's difficult to suggest individual dishes because I can say that everything is fabulous but the Ceviche was something supernatural. Don't forget the cocktails! They are another experience in themselves. Same standard of beautiful presentation and great flavor combinations to choose from. This hidden spot deserves more recognition than it has. Hard to sing enough praises for them and I will be thinking about this experience for some time.
