laundry card system unreliable and led to loss of several dollars and quality of machines led to poor drying

Nobody working there, yet the machine to issue money cards would take money from my card, then say there was an error. After buying 4 different money cards to wash my clothes and having none of them work (spent $55) we decided to go to another laundry service the actually had an employee to assist! Thanks for nothing. read more

Living in a motorhome, laundromats are a necessity. Glad I ignored the negative comments as this establishment met all my needs. Clean, well marked instructions, and faster machines than I'm used to. Quality wash and dry in my humble opinion. Plus there is a coffee shop in walking distance. read more

The attendant who was there today (Wednesday) was amazing and very helpful.... My husband and I are just visiting and haven't been in the area before, and she was very friendly! read more

Most every time I've visited this place, I have had problems. Today, I went there to wash two covers, put them in too separate large washing machines, set them both on the same settings and when the machines were both done washing and spinning dry, I pulled the covers out one by one; the first cover was slightly wet, the other soaking wet; it was so wet that I had to put it in a bag to transport it home and hang it up to dry. It was not worth paying $8 for a wet cover. This place is messy quite often both inside and out. Hey, have you ever used a pressure washer on your walkway? The parking is poor, it gets so crowded that I am forced to park either down the block or around the corner. I have even seen people park their cars in this lot just so they can go to the facilities across the street. This place can be noisy at times, kids inside and out running around the facility, or people blasting their music in the parking lot. The membership card cost is absurd, why should I have to pay for a cheap piece of plastic? Then have to put credit/money on it using their machine; if I forget the card at home, I end up having to buy another one; that means more free money in their pocket. What a rip-off. Hey, none of the other laundromats use cards, why should you? This is Karma for the owners, you just got another negative review, and you know why. I am never coming back! read more

I went to this laundromat today and unfortunately was very disappointed with this place. It was eight dollars to wash a comforter (which was fine I just really wasn't expecting that) and I didn't see the water going in so I asked the lady working there who didn't even answer me. The woman working was on her phone the whole time and had it on speaker so you could hear them incredibly loud. And I paid for the bigger dryer and my things were not even dry after only seven minutes of drying and I wasn't going to pay another seven dollars so I ended up bringing my stuff home to finish drying it. The place was very clean but that is the only positive thing I can say about read more

I'm out of town and need to wash my clothes. You have to have a card to use the washers and dryers. So I wanted to just get enough to do what I needed. The woman I asked acted like she could careless what I needed. I left to find some place else that wants my business. read more

Sorta my go to place to do laundry. I love how card is accepted which is rare. You have to watch the dryers as things finish quickly it might not always Finish the way you want. I have a few articles of clothing that sorta shrunk a bit. I also wish there was more parking as it gets pretty busy. Don't get me wrong the location is convenient and service for a young professional like myself. read more

iWash Laundry Express - Laundry Services Near Me - Petaluma, California

Do not go to this place!!! A ring of people steal items from washers. Seriously. 2-3 individuals male and female. The second you leave a person will open the washer and remove contents. The get away with it because no one typically notices until they get home. I have had items taken on two different occasions. If you do need to go to this facility, sit in front of your washer and never ever leave your belongings. Not even for 1 minute to buy something from 7/11. Avoid the place on Sundays-weekends seem to be worse than weekdays. I caught a woman yesterday-she removed a large comforter from a washer and began drying it. When I came back and noticed it missing, she pretended as though she was drying it for me. I grabbed it and said thanks but I knew she was indeed attempting to steal it. They were not washing items. Only folding a few wash cloths. They hang out and watch what people put in the washers. 1 will distract while the other removes items. When I got home I noticed an item was missing. Couldn't believe it. I had 2 faux fur rugs and a dog bed stolen. This place is ghetto! Do not go!!!! read more

Card system. No coin operation possible. Forfeit your entire payment if you stop and start the machine. "No exceptions"

The place is /Always/ trashed and smells of stagnant water; likely due to the fact that the machines sit broken for months on end. The manager has also turned the water level in the washers down so that it's near impossible to get enough water in the machine to actually wash your clothes. These are the side loading washers I'm talking about too.. don't even waste your time on the top loaders. Won't even go into what a joke those are. Most machines are broken and don't have clear telltale signs so you end up popping in your money to find out you just paid $3-4 to move your clothes to a new washer and try again. The dryers I can't say to many bad things about other than make sure you check the tumbler inside for dents as they will rip your clothes up. Over all if you have the extra two minutes drive time my advice would be to go a few blocks down to Washland III on N. McDowell. In my experience the machines were fixed within a weeks time when broken, it never has smelt like an open sewer and ~shock and amaze!!~ I've been able to wash my clothes first try every time in one of their washers. Crazy I know. read more

Idk man hoping to do laundry none of the big machines was working place is a mess. Maybe time for the owners to actually visit their business and take a couple of quarters and fix some machines. People might actually come there. read more

I was looking for a wash n fold service Because I'm pregnant and it's hard for me to get to it while working full time. I called the owner to see if I could get the service done and he was super nice and accommodating and told me to go see Monica in downtown Petaluma location because it's not too busy today. I lugged all of my laundry down to my car from my apartment in Rohnert Park, Drove to Petaluma, to see Monica on her phone talking to a friend. The place was practically empty. I asked her if she could do my laundry, she put her phone down for a second placing her friend on hold, and she said no she's too busy (she was doing nothing, talking on her cell phone). I just wasted half of my day driving down here and I'm really disappointed with the service that I was given by this laundry attendant read more

We are RVers who visit laundries all over the US. We were at the Petaluma Ave location on November 28. This was our first experience with the non-intuitive high-tech machines. I looked around for an attendant to assist, saw a woman on her phone and another woman folding laundry. Turns out the woman on her phone was the attendant, who shouted "touch it, touch it" to assist with using the card machine. Assistance with using the washer and dryer was given by other laundry users. When our laundry was completed one hour later, the "assistant" was still on her cell phone with personal calls. When I asked for the card deposit refund, she didn't stop her conversation but just handed me money without a word. The laundry may be state of the art, but the customer service certainly isn't. read more

Very clean, lady running it is very polite and helpful. Prices are standard. I recommend this one

So much better since being under new ownership as of earlier this year in 2016! I highly suggest that the new owner update or create a new yelp page since this is a new business that is not reflective whatsoever of the old rundown, neglected crap hole that this place used to be. The old reviews from being under the previous owner is surely not helping people to want to come by. I almost don't want to say that since I would personally prefer no more people in there but I feel it's only right as I respect the work that has been in to maintain this new place. No coins, you load your money on to a card (card costs $1 deposit, which you can get back whenever you want so long as there is an attendant present, which there often is) and insert your card to the machines. I find it convenient but I have heard some people complain about the "inconvenience". I have not experienced this inconvenience personally. Friendly staff to boot! read more

So I am writing this review as a customer that goes in here at least twice a week. Yes the outside area is sketch. A lot of people hanging about, drinking liquor and smoking cigarettes. However, the inside is very nice for a laundry mat. My clothes are always smelling fresh after the washer and dryers. The card system is great. You don't hear coins dropping every 5 seconds nor people chasing them. The owner Bill is very nice and even thanks you for doing your laundry there. The other staff is very quiet, they don't speak to you unless you ask them a question. I have seen this place a little dirty at times. I know the dirty times is when they don't have an attendant, otherwise its usually clean. It is on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for, CLEAN CLOTHES that actually feel and smell clean. I have used other mats in town and I have never had my clothes come out so fresh and clean. The mat across town is owned by Bill as well. That one is always so busy I usually can't get in but its very nice as well. read more

I've been to both iwash locations in Petaluma, have been doing laundry at them at least once a week for the last 2 years and love both of them. The staff at both locations are very friendly and helpful. One gal was even helping to fold laundry one Sunday morning when the place was packed to keep things moving along. They are coin free, contrary to what some reviews say you can use cash to load your card and if there is an attendant on duty (far and few between that a facility is unstaffed) when you are done you can turn the card in and get the remaining balance refunded to you. The machines are always clean and well maintained. Only downfall is that there are no restrooms at either location. read more

It seems as time goes by, the upkeep of this laundromat is going down. I went to the Petaluma Blvd location Sunday morning. The place is an absolute mess and filthy. There is garbage and articles of clothing all over the floor. There is debris in some of the machines/dryers which makes me question whether I want to place my clothing in any of them. And I certainly don't want to be in such an environment waiting for my clothes to wash and dry. Think I will find an alternative as this laundromat is a also a little pricey. read more

I had to turn around and walk out. Water on the floor. A row of broken machines. One washer tub half full and broken. ug.
