Casting is quick and painless, and the technicians are friendly and make you feel comfortable. They validate parking - $2 cash only. If you're a Brown student/staff/faculty, take the university shuttle to RIH and just avoid parking altogether. The garage spaces are limited, and it can be a headache. In the waiting room, there's a picture signed by Stephen Gostkowski to keep you entertained.

She told me my daughter's referral couldn't be used and cancelled her appointment without even verifying the information. I called Highbar and was initially told her referral was still valid. The representative put me on hold for over 10 minutes while trying to contact the Providence office. She came back saying she couldn't reach anyone, but then changed what she originally told me and said I needed to contact my insurance about getting a new referral. I called my insurance, and they confirmed the referral was valid, just as Highbar had originally told me when the appointment was made. I tried calling Highbar back three times with no answer. When I finally called Providence directly, suddenly the same employee who had turned us away said she could reschedule my daughter using the exact same referral. Beyond the misinformation, her demeanor toward me was dismissive and condescending, and the interaction genuinely left me feeling discriminated against. I told her this directly on the phone, and she apologized multiple times. What makes this more concerning is reading other reviews. Another patient reported being given incorrect insurance information by this location, and another reviewer described an experience they also perceived as discriminatory. I considered contacting corporate or management, but seeing similar complaints from years ago that resemble what I experienced today does not give me much confidence that these concerns are being addressed. Patients shouldn't lose appointments because staff provide incorrect information, nor should anyone leave a healthcare facility feeling discriminated against. Highbar needs to address the training and treatment of patients at this location

However, upon checking in, we found out they had the wrong location for the appointment and test. Both of us took time out of work to come here today and to be turned away. To make matters worse, the garage accessibility is horrendous. You enter into the lot, take the elevator to the ER, walk across the ER to a bridge, enter another building, and take another elevator. Very confusing. To add insult to injury, they now charge for parking. We will no longer be visiting this location.

We've spent our fair share of time on floor two of the 2 Dudley Street building so this review is to provide information about our experience on floor two only - as we have not had to visit any of the other floors for our particular needs. Floor two is VERY busy at every moment of the day and it can be an overwhelming first visit. Here's what you can expect. When you step off the elevators, you will need to line up to the right behind the "wait here to be called" sign in the lobby. From here, one of the receptionists will call you over, check you in for your appointment, take payment, and direct you to which waiting area you should go to (they have three - A, B, and C) DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS DESK WITHOUT GETTING YOUR PARKING GARAGE VOUCHER for the Dudley Street garage - it costs $2 for a flat rate "chaser ticket" (which is a huge savings) and is payable in exact cash only. After checking in with the receptionist at the desk in your assigned waiting room, they will send you to a tech who will remove your cast before sending you to the X-ray desk. You will need to check in here too and hand them the paperwork provided by the person who removed your cast. Both the X-ray techs and the cast techs are friendly and explain exactly what they will be doing before they do any work. They introduce themselves and explain to the kids what noises they may hear and even demonstrated that the saw used to cut the cast will not cut your skin (how does it know the difference? so neat!) You will then be asked to return to the waiting area you were in previously and will wait to see the doctor. Usually this takes just a couple of minutes while they wait for the X-rays to become available. The visits are straightforward and depending on your progress you may or may not have to have the area recast. Casting options are limitless and they have a variety of materials, colors, and enhancements (like glitter) they can add to personalize it for you. If you'd like a waterproof option, tell them ahead of time so they can prepare that for you (the only color option for that is plain white). You will pay out of pocket for the "upgrade" as many insurance plans won't cover the additional expense but it may be worth your while depending on the time of year and length you'll need to wear your cast. You may also choose to buy a sling or other cast aid directly from online or local pharmacy, as many times insurance plans will bill OUTRAGEOUS prices if they have already provided one at a previous visit and you find yourself in need of a replacement.

This is just a small part of the whole that is Healy PT. When I started PT here, I was skeptical, given experiences at physical therapy offices in other cities and other states. I usually felt like a number, hurriedly moved through exercises by uncaring jocks or over-worked doctors, and left in more or less the state in which I arrived. At Healy PT, I can say with complete sincerity that this is one of the best medical experiences I've ever received. Dr Healy treats me with respect, kindness, and understanding, and his compassionate demeanor makes me feel like his third daughter, instead of just one of his patients. I was impressed to have direct service from the president and founder, himself, and I never have felt rushed or ignored when I am there trying to improve. The techs are pretty good, and they have training on many modalities including sports medicine, cupping, taping, and rehabilitation. With an experience this good however, you can imagine how hard it could be to get an appointment that fits your schedule, but truly anything you can get is worth your time and effort. I wish that every pt provider was required to shadow Dr Healy, because perhaps his gently paternal energy and focus on the patient mentality could be a tactic more doctors provided to their patients. In just one month of pt here, I improved over 11% on my injuries, which is also great because they back up their work with statistics and quantifiable measures. Fantastic experience, and highest tier customer care, Dr Healy is really the best of the best. New England doesn't know how lucky they are to have this gem among them!
