I've really enjoyed my experience at Performance Physical Therapy thus far. I injured by lower back…read morewhile working out about a year ago and have been seeing a chiropractor. The chiropractor dealt with the pain/posture, but Performance Physical Therapy has helped me "target" the injury with stretching and strength exercises. I've been working with Dr. Holt and Dr. Nogueira, who have both done an excellent job. Dr. Nogueira did an intake and had me do some basic stretches to identify the "source" of the injury. I've been seeing Dr. Holt about twice a week, who has been supervising me, while I do exercises and stretches to ensure that I'm doing it correctly. They use an online portal to send you exercises to do at home. You can check off which ones you've done, take surveys and even earn points and badges. It's a lot of fun! They're social distancing regulations are really good. They tape off the waiting room, so you can't sit six feet from anyone else. They assess you for signs of COVID when you enter the office. When you enter the physical therapy area, they immediately ask you to wash your hands and record your temperature. Everyone is wearing masks/goggles and there is enough hand sanitizer going around to kill a baby elephant. In spite of this, I switched over to telehealth very easily, in order to be extra-safe. Really happy with the progress I've been making so far. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful outpatient surgical center. The only thing that would make me want to go…read moreelsewhere is the policy they have. The person who is taking you there and taking you home cannot leave the premises. So you are there for 4-5 hours or longer just waiting. They even make you sign saying you won't leave the premises. It's a big inconvenience and totally unnecessary. When asking why they require this they have no answer. You get 2 calls. One from the doctor after the surgery and another one to pick up the patient.

RE: Olivia Perry, PA. I was extremely disappointed with my visit with Olivia Perry, PA. In my…read moreexperience, there was essentially no meaningful physical assessment of my hip pain. Her response was basically, "You have hip pain? I'll order an MRI." She asked where my pain was, and when I pointed to the area, she tapped it with her index finger. That was the extent of the physical examination--and even that occurred only after I specifically asked whether she was going to examine me. As a retired Nurse Practitioner, I found this particularly concerning. I actually had to explain to her how to perform an appropriate assessment of hip pain and asked whether she was going to perform certain examination maneuvers used to help identify the source of hip pain. Her response was, "They didn't teach me that in school." I was stunned. A patient should not have to prompt a medical provider to perform a physical examination, and certainly should not have to teach the provider how to assess the condition for which the patient is being seen. Ordering an MRI is not a substitute for a competent history and physical examination. She also never called me with the MRI report. Luckily, I had the report and images and knew what to do. Based on my experience, I had no confidence whatsoever in the quality of the clinical assessment I received and would not recommend this provider.

Be careful--you may waste your time and possibly experience discrimination. Horrible customer…read moreservice, poor training, and unreliable information. I drove 30 minutes through bridge traffic for my daughter's scheduled appointment, only to be greeted by an unfriendly front-desk employee whose demeanor immediately made me feel like she was bothered by my presence. She told me my daughter's referral couldn't be used and cancelled her appointment without even verifying the information. I called Highbar and was initially told her referral was still valid. The representative put me on hold for over 10 minutes while trying to contact the Providence office. She came back saying she couldn't reach anyone, but then changed what she originally told me and said I needed to contact my insurance about getting a new referral. I called my insurance, and they confirmed the referral was valid, just as Highbar had originally told me when the appointment was made. I tried calling Highbar back three times with no answer. When I finally called Providence directly, suddenly the same employee who had turned us away said she could reschedule my daughter using the exact same referral. Beyond the misinformation, her demeanor toward me was dismissive and condescending, and the interaction genuinely left me feeling discriminated against. I told her this directly on the phone, and she apologized multiple times. What makes this more concerning is reading other reviews. Another patient reported being given incorrect insurance information by this location, and another reviewer described an experience they also perceived as discriminatory. I considered contacting corporate or management, but seeing similar complaints from years ago that resemble what I experienced today does not give me much confidence that these concerns are being addressed. Patients shouldn't lose appointments because staff provide incorrect information, nor should anyone leave a healthcare facility feeling discriminated against. Highbar needs to address the training and treatment of patients at this location
