Most recently due to a traumatic injury from a fall down my stairs at home. Went to this Hewlett location to personally finally try a full body Cryotherapy experience. What is Cryotherapy you might ask?? It's a process of cooling your skin to about 32 degrees Fahrenheit for a short period of time. The body temporarily goes into a "survival mode" sending blood to your body's core. This triggers adrenaline, endorphins and all sorts of hormones throughout your body in the hopes of natural healing. It was a super fast 3 minute experience to endure a very manageable dry cold sensation to reset, restore for a rejuvenating feeling. Let me explain why my experience here was traumatizing. I visited this chiropractor because the previous one I went to didn't help me at all and charged me $200 for nothing. Since this place had some excellent reviews, I decided to try it. I have been struggling with a pinched nerve for quite some time, and during my first visit, they asked me to get an X-ray done. However, since they are closed on weekends, I had to wait until the next business day. Finally, Monday arrived, and the doctor explained my situation. She used some machines to loosen up the muscles around my back and neck. Afterward, she cracked my mid-back, which sent a shocking sensation down my arm and worsened my situation. Initially, I had minor pinched nerve pain, but after that pop, the pain escalated to 10 on the pain scale. It was my first and last time there.

I came here after going to another PT office for about 10 sessions. I injured my right knee while hiking and was diagnosed with a possible meniscus tear. I was told that I may need surgery, but tried PT first. The previous office left me with left knee pain on top of my right knee issues. I was able to get an appt fairly quickly in January 2021 and the front desk person was very friendly and patient. The first couple of sessions were standard diagnostic, manual massage, stimulation machine, kinesio tape, and exercises. On my third session, I felt like I was in a torture chamber in a third world country. Dr. Samir, though I wonder if he should really be called a doctor, wanted to work on my right IT band which was really tight. I am not sure if he just used his hands or a tool, but he started doing a rolling motion along my IT band. It was painful and I flinched and told him it hurt. He said it had to be done and that I should count from 1 to 10 to ease the pain. I did as told, but it was soooo very painful. My eyes were clamped shut and fingernails dug into the flesh of my palm from the pain. I was writhing in pain, yet he kept working on my leg. Yes, I should have been more assertive and said no, this is too painful. However, I assumed that he was the professional and knew what he was doing. This was obviously not the case as I ended up with a huge bruise as pictured. I went back for my last session and he barely worked my leg. I assume to prevent more injury. Again, he said it had to be done. He is not a good listener, the golden rule of patient care. He saw that I was in a lot of physical pain and did not provide an alternative. He basically said suck it up and bite through the pain. He is not professional at all and should not be seeing patients. Perhaps I really should consider taking legal action as this was not right and no other patient should experience.
