The front desk looked disgusted when I told her I didn't fill out my forms yet. I just booked the appointment 10min prior to my appointment. I will note that I am a black woman, and I am also a medical professional who has worked in the urgent care setting as a provider. My first experience was fine. I walked in after a virtual consultation, checked in by a nice lady, and was tested. The PA, Theresa, came in and stood at the door to bark at me if I had any questions and I had none. Received my results rapidly. A mediocre experience. My second experience was great. I walked in after a virtual consultation and was tested. The MA I had, who I regret not remembering her name gave me the best COVID tests I've ever had. She counted down and made the experience almost enjoyable, and provided tissues before and after the test for my comfort. I received my results rapidly and was pleased with my experience. My third experience, which happened this past weekend was atrocious. I had a virtual visit with a PA who was over an hour late to the appointment -- I called the actual site and they told me to leave the appointment site and they would have someone reach out to me in 30 minutes. The PA then called me and went through the questions and she requested I be seen in person and that I can do that at the clinic when I arrived for my test, fine. I walked in during my scheduled appointment time and was greeted by another patient sitting in the lobby who asked me for my information. I was perplexed and turned to the actual front desk reception who said nothing but took down my information. Fine. I sat and waited to be called. As I waited, another receptionist came in and yelled "Ma'am" multiple times into the waiting room until I looked up from my seat, startled, and decided to check me in. I explained that I had already been checked in and she left me alone. I was soon called to the back. I was seated and given no instructions in the chair -- which is fine because I had been here before. Soon, the same PA from my initial visit, Theresa, came in and yelled at me from the door, demanding to know if I was a virtual visit. I explained that the provider from my virtual consultation had asked that I be seen for my symptoms. She continued to yell at me from the door saying that doesn't happen here and then eventually left without saying anything. I was stunned as I sat there. A little bit later, Todd, the MA, came in and started asking me questions. He asked me what I do for work and I explained that I was in the medical profession. After he was done taking my vitals, he said he would be collecting my specimen for COVID 19. I was shocked as I there was no explanation or confirmation from Theresa, and asked if she was coming back first. He said she would but he needed to collect the specimen first. Fine. He collected the specimen with no introduction or preparation for the patient. He did it twice in the same nostril and did not stay in for 10 seconds. At the end, he left. As he was leaving, my nose started to bleed very profusely from the attack and as I had no tissues or anything to stop the bleeding. As such, I bled over my shirt and eventually found gauze in the room. At this point, another PA, entered the room, asked if I was the "NP" very condescendingly and saw that I was distraught and bleeding. He provided me with more gauze and made excuses for Todd saying that they never provided tissues for patients, which was a bold faced lie because, as I mentioned, I had been here previously and was provided said tissues. At this point, I was so fed up with my experience that I asked to leave and my results be uploaded to the portal. I was crying and very upset. I have never been treated this way before at a health care institution and I know for a fact that others have been as well, just looking at these reviews and my partner's experience. Needless to say, I will never come back here as this was an abusive and terrifying experience.

I wasn't told at the time of service that I would be receiving two separate bills - 1 from the urgent care and another from a separate lab company - and thought that my insurance would cover my visit after I paid my deductible upfront before my visit. My insurance company told me that I needed to resolve the issue directly with the urgent care facility, not the lab company that they use. When I called this urgent care to quickly resolve the issue, I was given the runaround saying that no one could help me via phone and told that I needed to prepare a detailed written statement after which I'll likely be bounced around some more with no resolution. Do yourself a favor and go to CityMD by Queensboro Plaza instead. They have much better such service and a customer support team that's actually helpful.

Dr. Chen is amazing!!! He is an experienced doctor and very spot on with his diagnosis…read more I recently had persistent vertigo/dizziness for days. It was the worst thing ever and I was not able to function at all...I dragged my corpse to see Dr. Chen and he diagnosed me with vestibular neuritis. He prescribed meclizine and started treating me with acupuncture. The acupuncture really helped with the dizziness and I started feeling better after a week. When I finally got an appointment to see a specialist at NYU they confirmed it was neuritis. My 4 y/o daughter was playing with her grandfather and he pulled her arm and partially dislocate her elbow (nursemaid's elbow). We weren't able to get her an appointment at her pediatrician, but luckily Dr. Chen able to treat her and move it back in place. I've also gotten acupuncture with Dr. Chen for pregnancy weight loss and also chronic neck/back pain from sitting and working on a computer all day. Aside from how good Dr. Chen is, I've been to a few other urgent cares in the neighborhood, and in all honesty, is one by far the best and the cleanest. They also call you the next day to check up on you.

One of the most seamless CityMD experiences I've had. Got my results via email around 45 minutes after. Would come back if needed.

I went to the front desk to explain my dilemma. I asked if I could go get my son quickly and return. I was told that if I did so I would have to get in line behind every person in the now crowded waiting room. I asked if I could return the following morning but was told I'd have to pay an entirely new copay. I asked if I could have my copay refunded since I never received my results and she said that was impossible since they had already taken my vitals. I asked if there was a customer service phone number I could reach out to, to which the young woman at the desk responded "for what?" (with a shrug). I asked if there was anyone in the practice I could appeal to, to which she said (with a smirk) "I'm the general manager on duty." So here I am, $75 and 90 minutes of my life lighter with no idea whether I have strep. I have no idea if this manager might have been able to pull some tiny string to help me out in my situation (though I imagine she could have) but what struck me more was her utter lack of empathy or interest in my problem or willingness to even appear to want to help me troubleshoot. To be sure, as I got more upset and desperate, she almost appeared to enjoy flexing her power in the face of my helplessness. Hooray for good customer service.
