If i could leave zero stars i would. This practice has gone completely downhill since Dr. George Liakeas stepped away from running the day-to-day operations. Really recommend to not come here. The first issue is communication. It is nearly impossible to reach a live person. Most calls end up at a recording directing patients to the website, and the only reliable way I've found to get someone on the phone is sometimes through the billing office. For example i just tried to call twice because they mixed up my medication. It's 10:45am EST... full business working hours... and their answering machine said they will get back to me within 1 business day. The second issue is continuity of care. The office now seems to function as a revolving door of students and trainees. While I fully support medical education, it becomes frustrating when a different person handles every appointment and you have to repeat your entire medical history from scratch. Even more concerning, my patient information often appears to be incomplete or inaccurate despite multiple prior visits - again just this week completely mixed up dosages of medications I've been on for years, should clearly be on my sheet? On more than one occasion, I have received recommendations that seemed far more extreme than warranted for the issue being discussed. Follow-up is frequently promised but rarely happens. Never once getting a follow up call on outcome of test results. The biggest problem has been prescription management. I have been on the same medication for years and needed a routine refill. The prescription was not sent, which is something that has happened now multiple times. When I finally reached someone by phone, they proceeded to ask me (the patient) which medication and dosage I take because my chart apparently did not contain that information. Thankfully i obviously know what i take - but that should be confirmed and monitored by the doctor - after all that they sent in the wrong dosage to the pharmacy and doubled my daily medication. The lack of communication, poor recordkeeping, missed prescription requests, and inconsistent follow-up have made this practice difficult to trust with ongoing medical care. read more

I've been coming to this location for about 2 to 3 years although the business has changed name and staff. Everything has been amazing They have accommodated me on walk-in basis and help with booking future appointments. The staff is super professional and friendly as well as the doctors. They have made sure that I have everything I need and any recommendations for what they aren't able to assist with. read more

I had an appointment at this clinic on May 13th at 2:30 PM. I paid the full amount in cash at the front desk during my visit. The next day, I received a bill for $385. I disputed it, and without any explanation, the balance then changed to $155. I have no idea why?! Since then, I've called the clinic multiple times trying to get this resolved. Each time, I've been met with vague responses and no real solution. I've also been given a non-working email addresses to follow up with - and today at 11.45am when I called again, the same staff member gave me yet another email address that also doesn't exist. At this point, the whole situation feels like a scam. It's clear that the staff don't know what they're doing, and no one is taking responsibility. MR Primary Care is a deceiving patient uncaring organization. Before acquisition, when it was Lexington Medical under Dr. Liakeas it was great. Now, it's a rip-off. I went for my flushot, and the practice billed insurance: + $114 for the flushot + $172 for the administration of the flushot + $600 for a doctor visit (which I never had - Satish K. This clinic used to be great. Unfortunately, it seems to have changed hands several times and each time the quality of the experience has gotten worse. It has now reached the point where I am finding a new doctor and would encourage anyone considering here to please go to another clinic. In the past several months I've been called the wrong name, have been billed incorrectly, have found it impossible to reach their billing department to ask questions, have scheduled an appointment only to arrive and find that they had no record of it, and had the doctor for some reason switch me from the generic I've been on to a non-generic, which cost me money. This medical practice is horrible. They cannot keep doctors, I have been a patient since 2019 and I am now seeing my 4th MD here. They do not return phone calls, emails or respond to prescription renewals. I asked for the name of the practice manager and was given the name of a person whose last day was last week. As a medical healthcare professional I am very disappointed in the practice. I never received follow ups on additional medications prescribed and had to call 3 times for MRI results. Reviews are usually done when someone has an experience that's extreme in either a good or horrid experience. This review is for an unusually good experience who's been a patient of Dr Canty's for seemingly a very long time. As soon as you arrive, the office staff greets you and even helps you with any paperwork. They're not bust with facebook or instagram. I'm not sure why, but they work to make everything seem like a well orchestrated process. I love the fact that the staff puts the patient ahead of everything else. No big deal if u forgot ur insurance card or a means to wallet. They'll work that out on your next visit or go to lengths to be sure your visit is covered. If it's not, they'll deal with that later. This is how a drs office should be run. I recently did a review which basically said "I'd be better off having gone to a veterinarian. Unfortunately, doctors aren't reimbursed like they were a decade ago, and they make it up with volume. That doesn't happen here. Of all the doctors I've been to in my life, I trust Dr Canty's way of being truthful, and comforting with whatever problems you're going through. This type of care is extremely unusual. I KNOW as a fact that a lot of doctors hate their work, and it's reflected in the care you get. You're his first priority when u visit, and your appointment is almost exactly when you'll be seen. If you're looking for an honest physician who treats you like you're the only one hes concerned with during your appointment, then take a chance and try seeing him. I'm in a business where I know a lot of doctors personally and their misery is apparent. My reviews are honest, and sometimes brutal, but i don't believe anyone should be lied to, treated with anything but respect. When you're called in for your visit, you're seen by his assistant who does a preliminary assessment so, in fact, you're getting a first and second opinion on your problem. I really like this approach, as often things can go missed or you may have forgotten something. Unfortunately, my problem is something that isn't going to vanish overnight, but I know without any hesitation that I'm in good hands. Dr Canty doesn't rely on his credentials alone. The majority of doctors who you read about in "The Best in NY" are some of the worst human beings alive. Just read my reviews. I've had drs who've assaulted me, told me I had a brain tumor, while they never saw the films themselves. The doctor who said I had a brain tumor, I demanded a repeats MRI immediately. I said "it's impossible". I knew it couldn't be true. On the repeat MRI, they couldn't remove the report from the prior MRI which wasn't mine, but rather told me the tumor the size of a tennis ball went away. That type of quackery isn't part of the menu here. I know this from having been to numerous specialist before being a patient here. He has gone as far as cancelling his personal obligations when he knew my personal health needed to be addressed staying as late as 8 pm when his office hours ends hours ago. Aside from his strive for excellence, he's up to date with the most innovative and groundbreaking treatments out there. For anyone who writes anything negative, its likely due to a lack of knowledge that the days of being given 5 prescriptions for narcotics are over. Dr Canty doesn't operate a pill mill and he doesn't try to make patients happy by drugging them with things that we know is dangerous. He gets to the source of the problem and has made my life a whole lot better. Afterall, what's better? Being drugged with a prescription for euphoria, or fixing what's wrong? I've come here for a few years but not anymore. I had annual bloodwork done which has always been covered by insurance. I received a bill for bloodwork as the office provided the incorrect code to my Insurance. I emailed the office SEVEN times through their app following up about this - only responded once saying they're looking into it. Spoke to them and followed up after two weeks and they said they're still waiting for the office to provide the code which doesn't make any sense as I was speaking with the office's billing dept. It's impossible to get answers from this office and now I'm stuck with this bill. read more

Don't normally write reviews but after the shock horror of the last few days feels like it deserves one. My experience as a new patient with this clinic has been awful from day one but nobody is perfect so I let it slide the many times they made mistakes with bookings and then you go and address them and they blame each other. Or you walk in the DR office and they don't know why you there and for how long because reception didn't added the notes on the system. The reception staff goes from being nice to rude in 0.5 sec the moment you address any issues - probably because they know they f...ed up and they don't know how to take responsibility so they just get flustered and blame each other. Today was defo my last day with the clinic. They missed to refill my prescription for the 2nd time. Last time I called them in advance and they said they will fix the issue. This time around I went on the day my last pill finished and was told by the reception that they will fill it on the day. Called in the afternoon to check in about it, the prescription team said it will be done by close of play. Next morning I called the pharmacy no prescription! . By this time I m having all the side effects of going cold turkey and it's not pretty. I call again, this time I m being told by the receptionist that their policy has changed and I now have to come in and see a doctor so forget about all the calls and in person asks ! You got start from scratch. ! Wow just wow! No apology no nothing - oh yes she said that she doesn't understand why the others in her team said something completely different. Go figure! Come in let us charge your insurance for a visit because we cannot seem to be able to do simple things, but it's going to cost you time, heart and money. Just to make this clear this was for a reoccurring prescription so something that I have been having on refill for ages. No need for special treatment. I went to see a new Dr today at a new clinic. Super helpful he prescribed me the meds and was very sympathetic with my cold turkey symptoms and offered extra advice on how to manage the next few days. He was shocked to say the least of what happened to me. Bottom line ! Nobody should work in healthcare if they don't put their patient health first ! Nobody should work at a front desk if they don't have the basic skills of customer service and no clinic should be allowed to function if they are putting their patients health at risk ! I rest my case and I think that all their 5 star review have nothing to do with the actual clinic but mainly with their beauty side of the business. Good coverup I must say. I have been able to get through to the receptionist once in the past 3 weeks who then transferred me to another number that went unanswered. Bad patient care when it comes to communication and transparency in billing. Provider was kind but overall will not be returning to this place. read more

Been coming to this office ever since I moved to NY in 2015. The doctors and PAs I've dealt with in my 8 yrs have all had great bedside manner, great communication and very knowledgeable. The only downside if I had to choose one would be sometimes the wait time can be a little long. I came in for a physical today, which the staff scheduled for me, only to learn that "it's too early" for my annual physical. How could that be? Disorganization and ineptitude, that's how. I explained to them that I changed my insurance - which I verified with them at least three times prior to my arrival - and that it couldn't be possible. Rather than doing the right thing and contacting my insurance on me behalf, they told ME to clear up the confusion. If you are a woman, I would stay clear of this office. When I had an issue that potentially needed a referral to a specialist, rather than providing a referral, the Dr Liakes told me a list of life-threatening possibilities that my symptoms could be. Shocked by these possibilities (which ended up being completely wrong) I asked him to explain the potential diagnosis he shared with me (since I had never heard of it)--he told me to "google it". He also makes inappropriate comments, and felt that he handled a sensitive issue in an inappropriate way. Do yourself a favor and avoid the traumatic experience I had and find a more professional doctor. read more

Can't speak highly enough of this place. Clean atmosphere with incredibly kind receptionists. Dr. Jordan is wonderful - she's extremely communicative, patient, and thorough. Nothing is worse than feeling rushed or stupid in a doctors office. I was seen immediately (no wait in the lobby or in the patient room), they come right into the room to do blood work (couldn't even feel it when I've been a notorious fainter), and I got the results first thing the following morning when I had the last appointment of the day the evening before. i was on lexington medical's books for ~5 years, from 2017 to 2022. i switched primary care providers in 2023. pros: - dr. liakeas is a good doctor. - the practice embraces technology. cons: - their policy of tagging folks as "new patients". a little context to this. my company offers an annual medical exam for free at a certain provider (EHE). therefore, i prefer to do the medical exam there as it doesn't affect me in any way financially - no co-pay, no payment if i didn't hit my deductible, etc. it's essentially a company perk. i told lexington medical the situation in 2017 and i sent them my medical records from EHE after each annual medical exam. i wasn't sick for 5 years, so i didn't need lexington medical's services or any other provider's services, except for the EHE annual physical exam. my wife periodically used lexington medical's services for prescriptions. in december 2022 i felt unwell due to what proved to be a bacterial infection. i actually ended up going at the ER for fast blood test results at the citymd primary care doctor's recommendation. it was a bad two weeks. anyway, feeling unwell, i wanted to get an appt w/ dr. liakeas, as my primary care doctor. i was told that because i didn't have my annual w/ them, i am considered a new patient, and new patients don't have priority. i was given a ridiculous amount of waiting time before i could make an appt, given my condition at the time. also, it was alluded to that i might need to do a physical, although i shared earlier in the year the results from my july 2022 medical exam w/ EHE. i decided right there and then to hang up and i went to a citymd. eventually all was well, but i needed treatment right away and lexington medical fell way short of helping me as a patient. i hope others had better experiences. read more

I have followed Dr. Liakeas from two prior locations and will not consider any other primary care physician's practice. I bet he gives as much information as patients indicate they want - I like info, and he has been lavish with it. He is compassionate, imaginative and attentive. My appointment was timely and all of the staff were beyond professional. McKenna Wilson was my provider and she was extremely caring, attentive and knowledgeable. Front desk reception / scheduling staff needs a major upgrade. So unhelpful and if you ask a question, they will endlessly transfer you to another receptionist instead of answering. Massive waste of time and inefficient operation. Doctors are lovely but good luck seeing any of them. They also always seem to run behind schedule, so plan on leaving yourself an hour (give or take) for a standard sick appointment / visit. read more
