Along side some friends and with the help of Kalus I was able to feel comfortable in my own skin again. Pao's class will having you wish you never had that donut or pizza! Hahah CFC is a small, clean, high energy, latin owned gym that helped me every step of the way. Love this place! Only thing I hate is how far they are from me..you need to open up a gym in Manhattan!!!! I am looking forward to returning once my newborn is a little older.

**TRIGGER WARNING**…read more I had PT at courage fitness for a year. It wasn't until a few months in that Klaus sexually assaulted me. In the bathroom, alone in the building he told me to pull my pants down, he said "oh look you got a banana" which he used to describe the bend under my butt. He had measured me in my underwear before, it was kept professional in the past and I didn't feel uncomfortable. I trusted him, he was my trainer for a year and he monitored how my body was changing. This time was different though. This time he asked "Can I spread your butt cheeks?" Shocked, I immediately responded "absolutely not!" Still unsure if he was kidding and I just didn't get the joke. He wasn't. I felt him suddenly jerk my butt cheeks apart as I screamed louder "NO NO NO NO NO NO NO " and felt him lick me. I turned around abruptly and he said "I'm hard do you want to see?" I said NO! and pushed my way out. I was in complete shock. I STILL stayed and finished my work out. Something that will haunt me for the rest of my life. I'll never understand why I was more concerned about making him feel rejected then I was for my self (something that he used when pleading not guilty.) He clenched his fists together and begged me not to tell my friend, who also went to him. Not "don't tell the cops" not "don't tell my fiancé who owns the place", don't tell my friend... In retrospect it's very obvious he was planning to do the same to her. It's easy to say why would you go alone in the bathroom with a man and pull your pants down... but I didn't think of it that way. Looking back the signs were all there. Inching past me and rubbing his dick against my leg, which I always thought was a result of the tight quarters of the gym. Holding my body to "help" me with my push ups. I recall him actually texting my friend "I'm going to lick your ass this week" instead of "kick" which we all laughed off as a result of auto correct. You can call me dumb, you can call me naïve or too trusting but this isn't about me this is about what HE did when he heard me screaming NO! I was yelling "no no no no no no no" like a doctor was about to give me a shot, I wasn't prepared for. The feeling and shock of wetness between my butt. The confusion and self hatred that followed. The feeling I was always going to bump into him in my neighborhood. Always trying to look ahead to make sure we weren't on the same block, in the same restaurant. Having to break my lease and move away from my friends. I drove past the gym sometimes and would feel like I was going to vomit, seeing the lights on, knowing there were still women alone with him in there and there was nothing I could do. Not even a yelp review. The DA said if I did, it could affect the trial. I went on my honeymoon shortly after, looking back on the pictures I recall how crushed I was as a person and how desperately I tried to live in the moment. My husband slapped my butt while I walked up the stairs, while we were there, and it resulted in me having a panic attack. Whaling in hysterics with my face buried in a pillow. I felt like I couldn't breathe, the unfriendly reminder of feeling touched and not seeing it, jolted me back to that place. I'm still not over it. He had the nerve to plead not guilty and every month at my new job I had to tell them I might have to use my "vacation days" bc I didn't want to say I had to testify at my own sexual assault trial. The fear of facing a jury who didn't believe me, when I have no reason to lie. There was no money, I didn't need to look bad at a new job, I didn't want to break my lease and move all my things. All I wanted was one thing and that was for him to not be alone with women, so this wouldn't happen to anyone else. The trial is over now, he finally pled guilty and I can "move on" but I know I'm not alone. If you're reading this I enCOURAGE you to go to the police and tell your story. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

During the…read morepandemic we both ended up moving, ending up on opposite coasts, but we kept up working out together via Zoom, and have worked together for over three years now! Her workouts are thorough, comprehensive, and tailored absolutely to what your needs are. I am very discerning when it comes to trainers - having worked out with a number of them, and having been in the fitness industry myself for 10 years - and have a very, very high standard for whom I train with. And I appreciate having a trainer to motivate me and keep things challenging while understanding what's appropriate for me, where I am, and where I want to be. Christine is great at creating innovative, interesting, non-repetitive workouts. When we started working out, I brought in recommendations from my physical therapist and some of the rehab exercises I was doing, and she was able to incorporate them into the workout, but in new ways. She helped me build symmetry and strength - and now that joint that we spent a lot of time stabilizing is no longer an issue :-) She's been able to modify workouts on the fly if I wanted more challenge or needed less challenge. I really appreciate my workouts with Christine!

We've been training in different settings (Bootcamp/Inferno class, partner training, personal training for my mom who was recovering from hip surgery, small group training for me and my children), and I love the fun approach with the visible and noticable results. I'm as fit as I love to be, I can go for skiing/snowboarding right away without any kind of sore muscles! Thank you very much, Christine, for your consistent fun drill!

One exercise for a few minutes before moving on to a completely different exercise. The coaches move around abd give pointers. They don't have many bathrooms so the line gets long after class but that provide towels and massage guns are available. We wipe down what we used after class so it's clean. Love the music, very motivating mix. Sometimes I feel like fitness classes don't hit the music vibe just right, but they do really well at F45. It feels a little bit like a blend of "the future" ― since there are screens displaying the right form, etc., but you also get the benefits of in-person interaction with the coaches and the other people in class. Super appreciate that they provide towels and massage guns. I like that there's a simple warmup and cooldown stretch incorporated. Feels very no-bullshit, get-it-done, and positive vibes. Only one single-person bathroom/shower seems a little impractical, but other than that I really had a great experience.

My trainer, Paola, has been absolutely amazing from day one -- she's knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely cares about helping her clients succeed. What stood out most to me was how comfortable and supported I felt during every session. Paola has this incredible way of pushing you just enough to challenge yourself, without ever making you feel overwhelmed or out of place. Each workout was different and thoughtfully planned, keeping things both fun and engaging. No two sessions were the same -- one day we'd focus on strength and toning, and the next, core stability or endurance. Beyond her expertise, Paola's warm personality really sets the tone. She's encouraging, professional, and always explains proper form so you know exactly what you're doing (and why). I've learned so much about fitness and confidence in my own body through her guidance. The gym itself is clean, welcoming, and designed with women's comfort in mind -- it feels like a safe, positive environment to focus on your goals.

It just feels good to see staff at the front greeting me in and showing me the ropes of the place. I have seen this location many times passing by but admittedly foregone it in favor of Blink Fitness years ago because that was close to my location. Wanting to switch to another gym brought the opportunity to come here and it is slightly friendlier compared to Puregym, at least not as cold or sterile. It is Spring Break now so of course the gym was pretty packed but for what it's worth I was fortunate not to come across people doing super sets on various machines or spending several minutes on one machine I wanted to try out. Even had short conversations with 2 gym goers. In this day and age, social connection is very valuable so it felt almost as good as getting a solid workout in. Granted the Red and Yellow theme seems a bit garish, almost as if this place was created and run by Hulk Hogan but it's a nice change of pace from the dull and monotonous theme of the previous gym I was in. The one perk the gym has that separates it from others is that Retro Fitness has it's own Smoothie bar and a varied selection of them. I chose the Mocha Mania to be my first one and it sure does fill you up. It makes for a fine replacement as opposed to going to a fast food joint after a workout. Retro Fitness is my new home and with the highest tier I signed up for, I'm ready to explore more.
