Such a great experience for my daughter and I. We were there last Sunday around 4pm. I highly suggest going earlier if you can because when we arrived, most of the kittens were taking cat naps. While there were more than 10 kittens in the room, only 2 or 3 were awake and sociable.

Customer service was horrible I called to see if I could book an appointment she answered said she was busy and hung up I went in and told her that I called to try and book an appointment but she told me she doesn't answer phone calls even though that's the number that was on the website then she told me with the biggest attitude why would you even come here from two hours away if you couldn't book an appointment even though there was an opening at 5 and I left Also I want to add on as I've seen another review about them going in abruptly their door is super flimsy so it opens very fast and hits the wall

The place is cool and had a nice vibe to it. It's is a very nice environment and has a lot of kitty's. You can't wear shoes but you do have to wear socks and not hold the kitty's up high which is understandable. It mainly a small room for you to interact with kitty's and not an actual cafe. Love the kitty's.

Such a great experience! They have two rooms each with about 4-6 kittens in them. I was looking to adopt so I was able to meet all of the kitties in both rooms but I think they usually just keep you in one room if you're just visiting. They keep everything very sanitized and as organized as you can with a room full of kittens. I love that there are more and more of these places popping up in south bay

Better Than Before, Still Hard on the Heart…read more Yesterday, I stopped by the City of San Jose Animal Shelter to donate a few dog items we no longer needed -- and honestly, I almost didn't go. My last visit left a lasting impression: dirty kennels, empty bowls, and dogs who seemed to be crying out for more than food or water. They wanted love. They wanted home. It stayed with me. This visit was different in some important ways. The kennels were clean, the dogs were clean, and everyone had full food and water bowls. Credit where it's due -- there's been clear improvement, and that matters. While I didn't personally interact with staff this time, I did notice they were attentive, kind, and actively helping visitors connect with their potential next furever friend. That said, walking past kennel after kennel of beautiful dogs -- many of them puppies -- wagging tails, pressing up against the doors, desperate for affection, was still gut-wrenching. None of them want to be there. They want couches, walks, bedtime routines, and families like the spoiled life our dogs Rey and Finn get at home. I truly wished I could take them all. This place is doing better, and that's important. But temporary shelter is still temporary. What these dogs really need are homes. If you're even thinking about adopting, this might just be where your next best friend is waiting.

We got her 12 years ago from SBPR…read more In that time, my mother also adopted a dog from this organization, and my husband and I adopted a second dog from them last year. To say the least, we love and fully support this organization as it has brought THREE wonderful dogs into our lives. Every person we have talked to at SBPR is friendly, knowledgeable, and has the best interest of the animals at heart. Our first dog was our very first, but we put in the time and research to demonstrate that we were ready for a pet. Though we were newbies and fully disclosed this, SBPR saw that she was a good fit for us as a "first dog," and we have been smitten with her ever since. She is even "bosom buddies" with my mom's dog from SBPR (who is 14 going on 15). With our recent second dog, also from SBPR, we were unsure how our current dog and new dog would get along, both being older and set in their ways. The foster mom allowed us to have a meet-and-greet, and even a trial weekend to see how they would live together. She saw that we were committed to what was best for both dogs, and the potential for a loving home with another SBPR "alum". We are so happy it was a successful transition. These dogs have brought so much love and light into our lives. SBPR cares about dogs and finding loving forever homes, and we are so lucky no-kill orgs like this one exist in our area. We treat our dogs like family, and this organization is to credit for these 3 little beings in our life. Eternally grateful to them for the great work that they do!
