Attended a TNR here and it was amazing! The fact that they offer that service (of proving information by experts) for free shows how dedicated they are to their mission. I can not recommend this place more! Absolute must visit. They also had several stickers, merch and the cutest cat shaped soaps here. Cant wait to come back and play with the kitties :)

We went here during the afternoon so we only saw about 4 cats. Only 2 were awake and playing the other 2 were asleep. If you want to see more cats you can go in the morning or evening. There are a lot of cat toys to play with and some treats that you can give them. Employees were friendly and informative. There is even a small table with cat related items that you can buy like stickers, etc. I will probably go back to attend one of their events.

Highly reccomend to everyone, this place is really good. For a small amount you can spend an hour there with cats, pet them, play with them, even do work on your laptop while they walk around you. All the money go towards helping cats and so far this cat cafe helped over 1,210 cats get adopted, which is amazing. There are also events each Saturday like yoga, crafts, drawing. I'll keep on coming back! The staff is nice too.

Spent a fun, peaceful hour hanging out with the cats in this cat lounge. Our new friends are a calico named Lady Gaga and white cat named Rosco. We played with them, sat and let them come to us, and perused the photo albums of the thousand plus cats that have been adopted through this nonprofit. What a lovely idea. The volunteers were clearly big fans of the cats they care for. As adoptive parents to a tortoiseshell named Patchy, we are happy to know these cats are being loved and taken home.

Check out these paw-some kittens! The Dancing Cat is a cute cat lounge located on 17th St. near Downtown San Jose. They don't have a parking lot, but there's plenty of free sidewalk parking in front of nearby residential areas. We paid $10 for a 1-hour session with the cats. Masks are required, and you can buy one there for $1 if you don't have one with you. The usual rules apply, don't pick up any of the cats but there are tons of toys for you to use when playing with the cats. I fell in love with a cat named Hula, he was super chill! The cats were super friendly and it was fun getting to play with them. There were about 10 cats total roaming around the lounge space or sleeping. Overall, I had a great experience here and it was also cheaper and less crowded compared to Mini Cat Town at Eastridge. Would definitely recommend!

An amazing organization truly committed to caring for and improving the lives of stray cats in Santa Clara County. The staff are dedicated and the cats are delightful. There is lots of programming from yoga to concerts that you can come and do (with the cats of course) and you might just find your new best feline friend.

The amenities as listed in the Yelp description are incorrect, based on my attempted visit.

I have tried to visit this location for an event. When I was there, the entrance was not wheelchair accessible. Unless they have built a ramp since then, it is not wheelchair accessible and not ADA Compliant. Because the facility was not ADA compliant I have not been able to visit during business operations. Unless the facility has been brought into ADA compliance, the Amenities listing here needs to be corrected. I see the bullet point about an accessible restroom is not checked off. As long as there is no accessible restroom, then the facility is not ADA compliant.

I came here with my brother on a Sunday afternoon and it was a lovely experience! All of the staff there are incredibly nice and accommodating with any questions I had. They were more than happy to talk about the cats and introduce ones around us. The cats were pretty mellow during the time I was here and there weren't that many due to some being adopted recently, but there were some really sweet cats that loved being petted and it was fun to interact with them. The place itself feels so welcoming! There's plenty of natural light coming in and it's well-decorated to create a fun environment. So many toys and treats were laid out so ppl could interact with the cats in different ways and there are also a lot of cat-themed books for reading, which I thought was cute. There's a tiny station for tea and of course, lint rollers were provided too. They sell merch like stickers and clothes too! For $15, I had a pretty enjoyable experience for much less than I'd pay for at other cat cafes. I would definitely come again and recommend to others :)

I came here for one of their events (Mew-sic Night: Sitar and Tabla), and had a wonderful experience. It is definitely the perfect outing if you love cats and appreciate diverse types of music. The performers were talented, but also very friendly and good spirited in character, giving off a positive vibe the whole time. The music was creative and soothing, and the musicians even educated the crowd about their instruments and the purpose of their music (adding in some cultural and historical elements). They were very knowledgeable and eager to answer people's questions too. We were able to explore the premises, while interacting with and taking photos of the adorable cats lying on the ground or in cat tunnels, climbing towers or jumping on people's laps, or walking quietly from room to room. A lot of the cats hung out in the back rooms, small areas decorated with pet beds, cat accessories, and cute lighting. They all looked very happy, healthy, and well taken care of. The workers/volunteers were great too, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The environment is amazing, well designed to be an oasis for cats (and cat-lovers), and with beautiful artwork lining the walls. I don't even own any cats and really loved this place. In fact, if you don't own cats, this a great setting to find a new furry friend. Street parking only, but we had no problem finding free parking less than a block away on a Friday evening.

Loved this place so much that I came a second time shortly after. They have quite a lot of cats, although most are napping. Still, you can pet them and relax. It's quite affordable compared to the other cat cafes I looked at and the ambiance of the main room is bright and adorable. There's a small area where you can make yourself a cup of tea. The staff are very friendly and I considered fostering cats after visiting. It's definitely a chill place to bring cat-loving friends or a date.

oooooh my goodness. the best hidden gem in south bay for cat lovers. location/parking: a few blocks away from downtown sj. ample street parking. price:$10/ hr. They're only open fridays and saturdays 12-4 pm at 1 hr time slots. Be sure to book online 1 week in advance since they only have 6 slots per hour. atmosphere: THE BEST. I've been to ~10 cat cafes in/out of the country. this one is the loveliest I've been to, that I actually booked 3 sessions within a week. At several previous cafes I've been to, it was obvious that the cats were stressed/ tired of human interaction. However, the cat to person ratio was so good and the space was clean and calming. the cats were SO FRIENDLY! several rubbed my legs and one hopped onto my lap it was a dream. (edit: just want to mention this isn't a cat cafe, but instead, an adoption center. All the cats here are up for adoption, which makes this place even better. ) food: you can bring in your own food I think? but I didn't bc covid. free treats u can feed the cats though. there's also free wifi last remarks: go earlier in the day! the cats tend to get tired out as the day goes by and want to nap. they're livelier in the early afternoons. I also want to give a shout-out to the front desk lady! She was so accommodating to me and helped me reschedule my appt, and she even remembered when I talked about my attachment to a certain cat the week prior. It's obvious how much the staff care about the cats' well-beings. thank you, I wish I could visit every weekend.

I stopped in today with my boyfriend after making a reservation online. I am so happy I decided to come!! The overall concept of the Dancing Cat is amazing-- a non-profit to help cats get adopted. It was a very open and clean space, and the staff was very kind and answered any and all questions asked. They had cat treats you could hand out, as well as snacks for humans for purchase. Some really cute merch too! There are a BUNCH of toys and activities to engage the cats in. They also have a wall with info and pics of the cats available to foster and on site. The wall said that as of today they have 1329 cats adopted! So incredible and will definitely be back

Better Than Before, Still Hard on the Heart…read more Yesterday, I stopped by the City of San Jose Animal Shelter to donate a few dog items we no longer needed -- and honestly, I almost didn't go. My last visit left a lasting impression: dirty kennels, empty bowls, and dogs who seemed to be crying out for more than food or water. They wanted love. They wanted home. It stayed with me. This visit was different in some important ways. The kennels were clean, the dogs were clean, and everyone had full food and water bowls. Credit where it's due -- there's been clear improvement, and that matters. While I didn't personally interact with staff this time, I did notice they were attentive, kind, and actively helping visitors connect with their potential next furever friend. That said, walking past kennel after kennel of beautiful dogs -- many of them puppies -- wagging tails, pressing up against the doors, desperate for affection, was still gut-wrenching. None of them want to be there. They want couches, walks, bedtime routines, and families like the spoiled life our dogs Rey and Finn get at home. I truly wished I could take them all. This place is doing better, and that's important. But temporary shelter is still temporary. What these dogs really need are homes. If you're even thinking about adopting, this might just be where your next best friend is waiting.
