The flavors were excellent, everything tasted great, and the cones were big and solid. My next visit dropped to three stars because service was painfully slow with only one employee working, and then we discovered that our cones had hollow centers. So we came back and gave them another chance. This time, service was speedy. There were three people working, everyone was friendly, and we got our orders quickly. The ice cream tasted great all around too. But... the products are still inconsistent. Two people had the ube cones, and those were solid. Three other people received hollow centers in their cones and cup. It's just disappointing. Everything was also extra soft this time. The ice cream was much meltier than what we've experienced here before. Not bad tasting, just noticeably different. So yes, this visit was better. Much better service and great flavor, but we still didn't walk away feeling the same way we did after that first five star visit. At $9 per cone, I think they need to deliver a more consistent product. The flavors are good and there's clearly something worth coming back for, but when the experience can vary this much from visit to visit, it's hard to justify that price.

Taking a last-minute trip here, was a must the day before our friends' Saturday wedding. Located at the Palisades Mall (by Macy's) in Nyack, Glowing Candle greets you with different Buddhas, Crystals, Quartz, Fairy statues, etc. They were known primarily for their candles, but somehow shifted to offering Spiritual items for the mind, body and Soul. With so many different Buddhas that have a different message depending on the posture and mudras (hand gestures), we had a specific type in mind. We chose the Dhyana mudra with both of Buddha's palms almost overlapping and resting upward on the lap made out of volcanic ash. Service from Dean was incredible and took the time to clarify a few things about his products. Plus, he boxed our gift and filled in the gaps with tissue paper. I may not be so keen on gallivanting at the Palisades Mall- but coming to this shop, getting what I want and heading back out, wouldn't be a problem.

Third, because they have branched out into offering a variety of stylish yet useless items that serve as great gifts. And lastly, because they have now come through for me more than once as a 'life saver' - allowing me to keep my dear, sweet wife happy.
