Love this sci-fi / fantasy piece

It would have been a lot easier to order Everdell on Amazon instead of carrying a big old box for some big old blocks, but I love supporting local friendly game stores. Their board game selection is decent, and (if you're into that) they have a nice space to play a lot of different games in house.

This is by far my favorite place to go to for board games. I'm relatively new to the board game…read morescene but this place is nice because it has a good variety of games, including cozy ones, kid games and intense strategic ones. And did I mention that the other half of the store sells comics? They even have a shelf for local artists' zines! Love seeing businesses support local artists! Their prices are fair and comparable to other board game stores like Games of Berkeley and Black Diamond Games. I also like that this is just a store, not a place to play games at. Sometimes I get intimidated walking by people playing at tables. There's a parking lot around the back that belongs to the grocery store, I think. Or street parking. The people who work here are super friendly too! Very helpful but you won't feel like they're watching your every move.

The staff have always been pleasant to speak with and knowledgable. If you're looking for a new comic and on a budget, there are rows of $1 comic boxes to look through. I've found some out of Marvel. And local creator ones too. If you're looking for a surprise gift for your four year old nephew, there are several sections of the store offering a variety of children's books. And if you're nostalgic for the nineties sometimes, you could find some music inspired graphics catching your eye. For any level of comic or graphic novel enthusiast, Dr Comics & Mr Games is a definite go to.

We did luck out with some 30th Celebration stuff elsewhere but we figured it might be even more fun to go see some special singles at Angry Goose Games. He was ecstatic to see some super rare cool cards (even though we were not going to buy them) and then we found the big binder of singles and we let him pick two reasonably priced ones. They're now his favorite cards :) We are still on the hunt for packs but will definitely come back as a little treat for our little Pokemon fan to find cool special cards!

I've been coming to Angry Goose for over a year now, and they offer a wide range of TCG events…read moreevery week. The store itself is spacious, with plenty of tables and playing areas, which makes it a comfortable place to play, trade, and hang out. I primarily collect Pokémon, One Piece, and My Little Pony. Pokémon and One Piece sealed product can be pretty inconsistent in-store, especially with completely new releases or second-wave drops. I definitely understand that this is due to the high demand and distribution issues, but it can still be a bit of a bummer. When Pokémon or One Piece product is sold at MSRP, there is usually a strict purchase limit and the seal is ripped. Product availability can also vary depending on when shipments arrive. They generally keep customers updated about releases and delays through their Discord and Instagram. They also accept trades for sealed product, and I've occasionally seen older sealed ETBs and other sealed items available. My Little Pony singles and packs are sold in-store, and they carry a wide range of sealed Magic product as well. I'm not very familiar with Magic pricing, so I can't really comment on whether those prices are competitive. There are multiple binders and cases with singles available for purchase. They have Lorcana, Magic, Pokémon, One Piece, and Yu-Gi-Oh! singles in their binders, so there's a decent variety depending on what you're looking for. Bulk is also available, including Pokémon, One Piece, and other TCG bulk. Bulk is 25 cents per card, which is a little more expensive compared to some other places I have bought bulk from. They also sell deck boxes, binders, sleeves, and other TCG-related accessories. Snacks and drinks are available for customers as well, which is a nice convenience when you're spending several hours at the store for an event. There is a bathroom available for customers. One of the things I really like is their vendor events, which happen twice a month. These give customers an opportunity to meet, purchase from, and trade with different vendors. Most vendors carry a variety of Pokémon, One Piece, Riftbound, and Magic products. The vendors also change, and vending spots are first-come, first-served, which I think is a fair way to handle it. Best of all, the event is free, which is great for the local community. Discord is their main form of communication, with Instagram also being used regularly. Their updates are generally consistent and come primarily from Manny, one of the co-owners. The Discord community is pretty active, and questions are usually answered quickly by Manny, other employees, regular customers, or players. As far as buying, trading, or selling goes, I believe they only do those transactions on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays rather than during the week. The percentages they offer are listed in the store. From my understanding, the cash/store-credit rates are around 60% although I would recommend checking and calling the current rates in-store since these can change. Overall, the staff have always been pretty chill, knowledgeable, and patient in my experience. Some of the employees also participate in the weekly TCG events, which helps give the store a welcoming community feel. Parking is usually pretty easy, unless there is a large TCG event, vendor night, or a new product drop. There are five other businesses in the shopping center, so parking can fill up during busier times. The other businesses include a dentist, haircut shop, shoe shop, nail shop, and coffee shop, so it's worth keeping that in mind when visiting during a busy event.

For comparison, Kubla con is at least $50 per day (but you do have other events and a bigger space). I wish I lived nearby. The service was pretty good - friendly, informative. I felt well-taken care of, which you hardly ever get even when you pay beaucoup/bookoo dollars at fancy shamncy restaurants. There were more cafe-goers than gamers. The collection is also pretty good and well-loved. The Finspan rulebook was not falling apart...it was apart. There were shelves at the front and also the back. If I lived nearby, I'd consolidate my personal game collection and just go here. But I don't. That's my rule: if I step into a game or comic shop, I have to buy something. It's a hard habit to break at this point. From the outside, the store looks massive -like it might contain the multiverse. But once inside, the retail selection isn't quite as big as it appeared to be. BUT... it's got great stuff. Solid board game options. Plenty of space for RPGs and card games. It's the kind of store that's clearly built around social gatherings and play. Spacious and not cramped. A rare find in a city setting. There's an upstairs and downstairs, but those seemed more dedicated to table games you can meet up and play rather than shopping, so I didn't explore too much. The staffer working was friendly and helpful. She even checked if they had the new Monster Manual. Unfortunately, they didn't. That was a letdown. I mean, it's been out for months. If a game store doesn't carry the NEW core D&D books, especially right after a new edition drops, it stings a bit. They had plenty of the original 5e, but not the new. Still, I wasn't leaving empty-handed. Picked up a slick set of dice and the softcover Pathfinder 2E Monster Core Pocket Edition. Gotta support the cause. Overall? I'm glad I found the place. It's a real hangout spot. Honestly, throw in some coffee and comfy chairs, and I'd post up there for hours. Coffee and dice----- it just works right? Note: The 5-stars is a soft 5 because it really doesn't deserve a 4. I just wasn't floored and wowed by the place in general. 4.5 would be perfect. But a 5 it is DESPITE they didn't have what I came to get.

The place looks like it's located within a residential home so it threw me off at first. But there's a sign at the front. The folks here are very friendly and they're very knowledgeable. In terms of value, it's hard to say only because there are a lot of items that are highly collectible in addition to your run of the mill, newer IP's. In my opinion, I feel like the prices are pretty fair, especially since they may have some hard to find pieces that collectors are looking for. I came here with my nephew before we had dinner in the area. He's a big fan of anime and manga and especially things related to Godzilla. He ended up buying a figure. The lady behind the counter wasn't helpful as we walked in and around the front in for about 10-15 minutes before she even said hi. After that she just walked around putting things away and sat behind the counter. Now what's upsetting? My girlfriend found this 3-pack of Shattered Glass Transformers (Evil Dinobots) from SDCC. I clearly asked if I could open them and she said they were new. I didn't like that answer and how snappy she was with me. I kept them in the box until I got my new display case and Lord behold, they're all broken. All 3 figures wastes are popped off and will not plug into the bodies or stay in place, Grimlock's dino head is snapped, the plus to keep Slag's dino head on its body are broken, and some of Snarl's scales are broken.
