It would have been a lot easier to order Everdell on Amazon instead of carrying a big old box for some big old blocks, but I love supporting local friendly game stores. Their board game selection is decent, and (if you're into that) they have a nice space to play a lot of different games in house.

Honest review from someone that has been going to this store on and off for over a year. I will try…read moremy best to provide proper praise and criticism when possible. Here we go. Community - Angry Goose has been stupendous in developing community. They have always put people first, whether it's hosting trade nights or gaming events. They have put significant effort on fostering community and the result is a flourishing establishment that is only growing. There is a vacuum for TCGs in general in the local area and Angry Goose has stepped up to fill that hole. Interior Design - They have gone a long way and made the store much better for buyers, players, and traders alike. Just moving some merchandise around and setting up tables in better spots has provided a much better experience. I do think it is possible to make some additional small changes but that's where it will probably stop. Unfortunately there is a huge problem with the primary play area. It has no air flow so if there is even more than 5 people in that room, it will get too stuffy. Don't even think about more than 10 people. More than 20 is nightmare fuel. These older retail locations are usually difficult to convert to what you need without crazy work. The most practical way to fix this may be to consider changing locations. Stock - In the current TCG climate, there is a ridiculous amount of demand combined with flakey/inconsistent distributors. This has made it extremely difficult for any store to keep consistent product. With these factors in mind, I will still say, I find the stock at Angry Goose lacking. That is both for sealed and singles. I know they are trying and have increased their spending. Unfortunately, compared to some other prominent stores in the area, they aren't quite there yet. That being said, I think they will only continue to succeed and with that, I expect they will improve their stock in time. Staff - I have only had positive experience with the staff. They have expanded and added some team members but the experience stays the same. I find the staff quite friendly and always willing to help. Unfortunately, I will now go into detail on how they can improve. Recently, I have had my worst experience ever in the customer restroom. It was simply too dirty. I can usually tolerate a lot since I'm used to it but this was real bad. I already kind of suspected they do not have a set schedule to clean the restroom since it's never been that clean but this was yikes. I think they definitely need to set a schedule for staff to clean the restroom. It's just better for everyone. Heck, I might even volunteer if that's okay. Additonally, experience is also lacking with their staff. I don't actually mind and I do think this will only improve in time as they gain more experience but it is beneficial for them to have that experience. There have been some hiccups with event planning and I do believe if the staff knew more about the games in general, they would be able to provide better assistance. Again, they have already made improvements and the experience will come in time. Pricing - Their pricing is slightly higher than online for singles which is understandable. This is pretty standard for brick and mortar stores. They have to make money and I am more than happy to pay a little extra to keep them open. They have also tried their best to provide the best pricing possible for sealed which is very nice for how crazy it is to buy sealed nowadays. Overall, I think there has been a consistent theme of community first and improvements being made. I am confident they will continue in that direction and I hope they have continued success.

They charge you $8 per person for you to gain access to any board games from the shelves you want to play and you can stay here as long as you like until they're closed. You can also ask to reserve a table and buy one of their game passes to save money! The place is very hectic here. There were many people playing board games with their friends. There weren't many options for me to sit. I didn't want to sit outside. So, I decided to sit indoors. Some of the tables were reserved and some reserved ones are open to patrons who are not part of the reservations until a certain time. For example, I sat at a reserved table until close to 2:30pm, which is when reserved customers will take over the table. There are plenty of food options here: sandwiches, pizzas, pastries, and cafe drinks. There are all sorts of menus there too if you take a look at the chalkboard. One of them happens to be a schedule of activities. I didn't participate in gaming tabletops, but I did try out of their sandwiches and their cafe drinks. The turkey sandwich is good and honey lavender latte tastes sweet. My drink came here 10 minutes more than my sandwich, which is quite odd, because usually sandwiches take longer to prep. Not only that, but drinks take way longer to prep, which I don't know why. I like how the sandwich is prepped with chips sitting at the middle of the silver plate surrounded by sandwich slices. Overall, the experience is great with many people playing board games. I probably should take one of my friends to play board games for experience and get pizza even when I never play board games for years. It'd be an awesome experience!

That's my rule: if I step into a game or comic shop, I have to buy something. It's a hard habit to break at this point. From the outside, the store looks massive -like it might contain the multiverse. But once inside, the retail selection isn't quite as big as it appeared to be. BUT... it's got great stuff. Solid board game options. Plenty of space for RPGs and card games. It's the kind of store that's clearly built around social gatherings and play. Spacious and not cramped. A rare find in a city setting. There's an upstairs and downstairs, but those seemed more dedicated to table games you can meet up and play rather than shopping, so I didn't explore too much. The staffer working was friendly and helpful. She even checked if they had the new Monster Manual. Unfortunately, they didn't. That was a letdown. I mean, it's been out for months. If a game store doesn't carry the NEW core D&D books, especially right after a new edition drops, it stings a bit. They had plenty of the original 5e, but not the new. Still, I wasn't leaving empty-handed. Picked up a slick set of dice and the softcover Pathfinder 2E Monster Core Pocket Edition. Gotta support the cause. Overall? I'm glad I found the place. It's a real hangout spot. Honestly, throw in some coffee and comfy chairs, and I'd post up there for hours. Coffee and dice----- it just works right? Note: The 5-stars is a soft 5 because it really doesn't deserve a 4. I just wasn't floored and wowed by the place in general. 4.5 would be perfect.
