Terrible customer services. Sorry to inconvenience you from your sour patch kids to buy a card from your case. Short and smug on the phone call you took while I was there as well. When asking a simple question like "could you do better on the price?" Without even looking it up or considering my question I was hit with an immediate NO. This store has been such a breath of fresh air for many LGS's in the area. The staff are a big part of the community as a whole, are super welcoming and kind to anyone that steps through the door, and the prices are the fairest amongst any store I've seen in the Bay Area. You can really tell this store cares about its employees and the customers. Also the store has a great DND tavern feel to it, spacious, clean, and just generally looks amazing. The owner has stocked the densely packed shelves and aisles with surprises at every turn. In addition to current RPG and Board Game releases, you might find books and boxes from the 80's and beyond. If you find something without a price tag, the helpful staff will look up a competitive value and usually give you a further break on that. Tables are set up in the back for in person gaming, and there appears to be a regular schedule of weekly sessions. maybe not the best store to find a specific thing, but a fantastic place to browse for unexpected treasures. read more

The vibe at the 2-headed Giant tournaments is just right for me- a mix of couples, kids, parents, and friends, and since the skill levels vary a lot, it's nice and casual. Visiting from LA and decided to look for sports cards in the area as I find this place was still open with a full house of people running magic games, The case they had wasn't the best so I decided to ask about the binders behind the counter the guy proceeds to says "actually we can't because I am in a game" LOL I do not take long to look through binders but definitely suggest they should keep an employee at the counter at all times. Go else where if you wanna purchase anything as they aren't interested in wanting to sell cards I highly doubt everyone walks out right at 9pm closing time. read more

Prefacing this review saying that this is being written from the perspective of a Pokemon TCG collector. Though I think more effort needs to go into the storefront (still kinda looks under construction and not too inviting) the inside is very warm and pleasant. The people are also all very nice and pleasant to speak to and I've never had a bad interaction with them. While this place does have many redeeming qualities, the biggest thing I can't really get behind are their prices. Speaking from the perspective of a Pokemon TCG collector. Their price points feel really out of touch both with sealed products and individual cards. As far as sealed products the best example was when they were selling individual Shrouded Fable booster packs in the $6-$8 dollar range (Can't specifically remember). As far as individual cards. I'm trying to complete a collection of the OG Gen 1 Pokemon and they were trying to charge me $4 for an unlimited Spearow from the Fossil set which at best is a 50 cent card. While I understand that they need to make a profit off the products, and with the exception of the first few purchases I made when I started collecting, and didn't know better, I've never not made a purchase and though to myself. "I wonder if I could have purchased this for cheaper somewhere else" It was at this point when I discovered another shop that I decided I would be making my purchases there instead. Their pricing for some of these Pokemon products just seem a little out of touch. The three stars for this place isn't so much for the place as whole but more for Pokemon TCG collectors it just feels like there are other places that are more fairly priced. I love the environment in D20 games. It's enjoyable and welcoming and all the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Especially Dan, a cashier and dungeon master, he just knows so much! It has gotten so much better in the past 2 years since the moved into a new, bigger location. They have a huge selection of magic cards, Pokemon cards and games. How does a brick and mortar business not have a working phone number? The number on yelp doesn't work, the number on google doesn't work, and the one on their website doesn't work! Their own website! I wasted my time driving there tonight and when I asked which number I should call in the future, I'm told their number has been down since the move, but that was like 5-6 months ago! I'm not saying you shouldn't play there, because I think it's just fine, especially for younger kids. The workers are all extremely kind! I bought a heavy board game and they lent me a small hand truck and walked with me to my car. They have a wide range of board games and offer lots of different activities for beginners and veterans alike.
