Everything is also very nicely cleaned, prepped and refrigerated. But the best part of all is how deliciously amazing everything tasted! From the tomatoes, to the onions, to the lettuce and more, I couldn't believe how fresh and how everything really tasted like a vegetable! They also have a huge selection and a variety of butchered meats

Horse Drawn offers an impressive variety of seasonal vegetables as well as meats (frozen) and, when you get lucky, eggs. Everything they sell is absolutely first rate. Much to their credit they work on the honor system. Prices are clearly marked. You take what you want from the display cases or freezers. Weigh your produce on the scale. Record the amounts on the clipboard. Add it up on their calculator. Pay by cash or check. We first encountered them years ago at Lopez Island's Saturday farmers market. Since then whenever we're on the island we frequent their farm stand. When you consider that they plow their fields using non-fossil-fuel-powered farming methods -- teams of actual plow horses, as their name suggests -- you feel genuinely happy purchasing and consuming their food. They're part of what makes Lopez Island a wonderful place to visit.

The bakery is fantastic so is the deli we love the ice cold beers in the beer cave! It's very obvious the owners of the market very competitive to the mainland prices or even better at times, but obviously their items that are going to be more due to the transportation cost of getting things here. The muffins in the bakery and the giant cookies are some of the best you'll ever have!

The market is large and offers just about everything a grocery store could carry, including both indoor and outdoor machines for refills on spring water (a must on the island, particularly if you make your own coffee). Most impressive is the staff in the meat and fish department. They men and women working there always seem willing to answer questions about stock and are even happy to offer advice about preparing the day's fresh seafood. We've also been pleased with the entire staff. They're available and can point you to the right aisle when you're in a rush. The store can get busy, and when only a couple of checkout lines are open there's sometimes a good wait, but remember this is island time.

Could be a good place but at this point would not go back or recommend. Our server was friendly…read morebut did not check on us after being served. I had to catch her attention to ask for dessert. The total cost of our meal (without alcohol), was not the second issue. The two main entrees we ordered were. Two couples each split a meal because the description we were given was that it was a large portion. We and the other couple each ordered the $36 scallop and noodle meal. I can't remember the name of it but I believe it was the most expensive on the menu, maybe. I will say the restaurant was nice enough to split them ahead of time. However, our plates had the following... mine with two scallops and some noodles, my wife's with one scallop and some noodles. Our two friends received the same accordingly. The taste was wonderful but that meant a $36 entree had three scallops and not a lot of noodles; that is it. Perhaps I expect more than I should but I am not one to shy away from an expensive meal now and again. This I would expect from a high end restaurant but this is not a high end restaurant. Overall: Good tasting Poor follow up from waitress Way too much money for what you receive (especially this entree) ...doesn't matter who you are. The other items we ordered were , in my opinion, not terribly priced but somewhat still. Perhaps it is just Washington's crazies and the fact I am on an island but...???.... At this point I would give this place a 2 out of 5

We will be returning to try their dinner menu. We got to meet the chef and he signed his Ramen cookbook for us. We loved that we could take our pup with us (he stays in his stroller the entire time). If you only order 1 thing, make sure it's the Pork dumplings!!! Those were absolutely amazing! His ramen was delicious as well. The burger was good, but nothing to write home about. The fries were good!
