Stopped in as we were down the road at a local bakery, so time for some caffeine. I've never been to Italy, but I imagine this coffee shop would fit right in. The brick building and different areas to sit. Cozy welcoming vibes. Very adorable! It appears there may have been a drive in at one point in time. Walked in and noticed three employees behind the counter. One was cleaning and the other two were kinda just standing around. I was a little surprised no one really acknowledged us standing there or offered to see if we had any questions. Complete silence. We let them know when we were ready to order. We ordered an iced coffee with a shot of butterscotch and an iced latte. Drinks were made fairly quickly. My best friend enjoyed his drink a lot. Unfortunately, my iced latte was not good. It tasted like a glass of milk. I've had many lattes before and never had one like this. My best friend suggested I actually go back in and ask them to re-make it and I did. Long story short, the gal behind the counter gave me grief about it, but asked her higher up and he said giving me an iced coffee would be fine, so I got that instead of the latte. All in all it worked out, just a bummer how much of a runaround I had to get to get a new coffee. Not the best first experience, but I may stop back in when I'm in town as I live out of state. I just wouldn't recommend the iced latte or expect much from a customer service standpoint. read more

Came in the morning to this charming Zion coffeeshop. It's All Good is as the name implies. Of course there's the coffee, of which there are several styles. Has some good things to eat. The prices are pretty cheap for around here as well. About the only bad thing you can say is there's not a whole lot of seating inside. It has one room with a few small tables, and the other side has a few larger tables that are always occupied. The coffee is only one thing. It's about $2 for the brewed coffee. There's a few non dairy milks including oat. As for the food, there's the usual stuff for breakfast. It's about $6 for Avocado Toast. For once this isn't a small portion. This is a big piece of toast cut in half, topped with everything bagel seasoning and tomatoes. Other food includes hash browns. This is a rare coffeeshop where you can also get a substantial meal it seems. Good stuff here for sure and not just the coffee. It's got lots to eat. The hours just kind of suck because they close early so one just has to go during breakfast or lunch times. read more

The reason I can't give IAG a full five stars is that I have been disappointed with the reduction in hours since 2020. The community really benefits from It's All Good, and it's a shame that it closes so early in the day during the week. On the weekends, the crowds make it hard to get a table. We camped at IL State Beach and wanted to grab coffee and breakfast on our way to hike nearby. I like to find a local coffee shop and spotted this place on Yelp. We had such an amazing experience. The menu had great options, the coffee was great, the staff was friendly! They have a lovely outdoor patio and bring the food out to you. The prices were extremely reasonable - we had two omelettes, both with a side of hash browns and coffee and I think it was about $15 before tip. While we were sitting outside, the owner came up and talked to us a bit. He told us a little about the history of the building and that his family all works there together on Saturdays, and was just incredibly kind and friendly. Who doesn't want to support a business like that?! If I lived up north, I would be a regular!! read more

Today, (7/8/2016) was my first visit since it changed ownership (7/1/2016). I have to admit, it is better than ever! I ordered the Thanksgiving panini. Turkey, swiss-cheese, stuffing, and cranberry jelly sauce, all melted together in a delicious panini. Where has this sandwich been all my life! The new owners (Rick and Barb) are warm and friendly. Perhaps the boyf and I haven't been looking hard enough the handful of times we've driven to and from Zion, IL from Kenosha, WI, but there are not many places where one can get a cup of coffee and a baked good in Zion, IL. This might be an acceptable state of affairs, because once you've found It's All Good (as we did two days ago), you won't need to look anywhere else. Also, as it is open from 7 am to 9 pm every day of the week, it should meet the coffee-drinking needs of the awake-during-the-sunlight-hours demographic. Parking is not a problem: there's street-front spots on Sheridan and a lot in the back (entrance off 28th St). Neither is seating spaces: with three separate rooms, they can hold a lot of folk and keep the noise level to a normal level. Plus, there are tables outdoor. The coffee is tasty (they set out five kinds), reasonably priced, and comes with two free refills. They have a decent selection of baked goods (heavy on the muffins, of which there were four kinds both days we had breakfast there) and much to my delight, yesteryday's muffins when available are sold hald-price. Warmed up, one can't really tell a difference. They also sell deli meat sandwiches for lunch and dinner. The decor is charmingly small-town, which is refreshing in Zion, which the boyf learned has a crazypants small-town history (wikipedia John Alexander Dowie). Photographs of what the property looked like when it was a gas station, paintings of historic Zion buildings, and newspaper clippings of long-ago events involving Zion notables are framed on the walls. So why does It's All Good merit five stars rather than four? Because a majority of the patrons on both of our visits were reading while enjoying their beverages and snacks. And they were reading books other than the Bible, which my boyf reports folks up in his area of Wisconsin do an awful lot of in coffee shops. Not that there's anything wrong with Bible readin', mind you. We're just normative pluralists about reading material. So yeah: It's All Good is all good in my book. read more

Before moving to Zion, I lived in northwest Chicago. So I have enough city in me to know when a coffee shop is worth the time, but suburban enough to not have had many options in my neighborhood that weren't a chain. When we came up to Zion, my inner coffee junkie freaked out a little. No chains? Will I be confined to convenience store coffee?? Queue It's All Good. My first visit was while walking the neighborhood with my two year old. Even though she was slightly unpleasant (she's two!) the staff was still super friendly. Took the time to talk about living in the area, made suggestions on items, and the drink was delicious. The second time i went in with my mom to meet someone. I had tea. Nothing I expected to be very fancy. I'm used to ordering tea and getting a tea bag in a cup. We sat outside, which is a very pleasant area, and a few minutes later was presented with a teapot with an infuser built in, and a tea cup. Now I know I'm at a place that pays more attention to quality and detail. My most recent, and most interesting visit, I came in to ask for help with the GisHWheS scavenger hunt. Basically this requires asking for, and doing, some crazy and out of the ordinary things. I stopped in to ask a favor, and the staff was very accommodating, even though they were very busy. While sitting at a table and waiting, I was pretty impressed with how the design of the place makes it never feel very crowded, even when it is busy. Tables are set into cozy but spacious rooms, plus the outdoor area, and it creates a place where you can get absorbed in your coffee and whatever you are doing alone, or sit with a group of friends comfortably and enjoy each other's company. My iced vanilla latte was also extremely good. I know this is very long, and probably paints me as a bit crazy, but that's OK. My point is, this place is awesome, for all the right reasons (staff, ambience, and menu) and worth the visit, regardless of if you are just looking to grab a cup and go, or if you need a place to relax and socialize. :) read more

We were staying down the street at the Illinois Beach Resort and needed some decent coffee. Yelp and Google Maps pointed us here, thank goodness. We'd all calibrated our expectations to low, but were surprisingly pleased. My Americano was perfect -- honestly one of the best I've had. The selection of daily coffee included some fun sounding flavored options (blueberry cinnamon and vanilla hazelnut) alongside the standard roasts. Service was wonderful. Both baristas behind the counter seemed to be enjoying their work and having a good time. They greeted people warmly and were helpful, including taking a phone call to set aside a specific muffin for someone coming in later. Try that at Starbucks. :) Overall, great experience. Terrible cappuccino. If I am paying a nice amount for a drink and tipping I expect the coffee to be made fresh. Stale burnt coffee ruined the milk. As much as I dislike Starbucks I may just go there instead of supporting the local business, I hope it was just someone being lazy as the place is usually full of old morning cyclists. Was there this morning. Atmosphere - Excellent, Customer service - OK, Food - Hmmm.... I got the egg and cheese on English Muffin, Salted Caramel Mocha and the Banoffee cake. The sandwich looked a little sad, tasted OK. Nothing too great. Salted caramel Mocha - Salted caramel is salt IN caramel not salt AND caramel. The banoffee cake was slightly burnt on one side, overly sweet with a strong artificial banana flavor. I'd go again for the atmosphere, but not for the food or coffee itself. read more

This is a cute cozy place, I have been in twice now The first time we were just checking it out we had an iced coffee and a raspberry tea. So today we went in for chicken salad sandwiches which were very very good. We got them toasted on the Italian white bread. I got a BlackBerry tea and it was very tasty.. I wish I had seen this place when I first got here this summer I would have tried more stuff. However I plan to go back a few more times before I head back to Alabama. When I moved to Lake County, I was so disappointed by the complete lack of cafes. It's like a good coffee desert. EXCEPT, there is this little gem! The coffee is great. I haven't gotten to sit down in the cafe for my coffee yet, because of COVID, but the espresso is good and the baristas are friendly and know what they're doing. Every time I go to this coffee shop, I'm given bad service. Today the lady with short hair and glasses was rude. I was polite at first but said nothing back to her at the end of my transaction. Came for the first time a couple of days ago and was thoroughly impressed! This is one of the cutest little coffee shops that I have ever been to. I love the homey feel the place has. The people working there were incredibly nice, and very helpful. I had a peanut brittle latte and it was excellent. Love that they serve their drinks out of real mugs. A very nice local coffee shop. The location and setup are great as it makes you feel comfortable to just sit down, relax, and take your time sipping on a good cup of coffee. They offer about 5 different types of coffee a day, they have tea, and all the fancy coffee styles if that is your thing. They also have a nice little deli with sandwiches and bakery items. Seating is a little limited inside with 2 small rooms and about 4-5 tables in each. But when it is warm the outside seating is nice because the shop is set off the main road and it has a large shade tree to make it comfortable in the heat. Just a great place to hangout. The biggest plus is that it is NOT a Starbucks and I like to support the local establishments. read more
