This store is great and usually cheaper than Petsmart or whatever. I really enjoy coming to this store, it's got a great atmosphere.

The staff…read morewas helpful and, with their assistance I had a crate, a few toys, food, and other necessities. I also got the puppy coupon book, which was very helpful. One month later, once the pup was out of quarantine, I went back. This time, for training. Justin, the trainer, is fantastic. He was very clear in his explanations and Märchen improved by leaps and bounds. Justin was also patient with some of my more random questions (such as how to get him to tolerate getting his hair brushed). It's been over a year now and I'm proud to report that the pup still knows the basic commands we learned together in class - sit, stay, lie down, leave it, touch, and watch me. Of course, there are always new challenges to be conquered and new commands to be learned (if only I could get him to stop begging for food). If I was still in Ithaca, I would have signed up for the intermediate class in a heartbeat!

Some of the treats were on sale for mix and match so I got a few of those. Chelsea was so helpful with all the questions I had. She also helped me log in to the PetSmart website and went through my benefits so I could get the most points for all of my purchases today. Saved me a ton and I've got money to go towards my next purchase. I love coming here!

Pampered Pets is my go-to local pet store. It's super conveniently located for me as a student,…read moresince it is literally 20' from the bus stop at the mall. The best part about this place is the staff though. They're super knowledgeable and have taught me about just about every animal in the store at this point (I go a lot..). They've got reasonably priced merchandise (just about every other place's prices, and comparable to online buying at points) and really care about their animals. Staff are always walking around holding something, socializing to get them to enjoy people and letting the animal get out of its cage. There's a very good selection of pets for a small mall store. There's a decently sized fish section, finches to parakeets, rats to hamsters, geckos to pythons, hermit crabs to axolotls, almost always rabbits and guinea pigs, sometimes kittens, and even a few stranger things, like degus, hedgehogs, and ferrets. I bought my mini lop rabbit here and he's been a dream to take care of. I've never owned a rabbit and the staff is very good about easing my concerns and answering questions when I come in (and figuring out his finicky eating habits). They give you an awesome deal when you get a rabbit, and I'm assuming other caged animals- you get to purchase a kit if you want, which is a cage you choose filled with stuff you need like food, bedding, and a water bottle, everything in there being on the employee discount (15%). You can take things out you don't want or switch them out for other things you want (different brand, bedding type, etc). They also clip nails for free whenever you bring your pet in! Overall a great store I recommend to everyone. Fun even just for visits.

Pampered Pets is a small pet retail store in the Pyramid Mall (the new Shoppes at Ithaca Mall)…read more You'll remember Pampered Pets because of the resident Blue and Gold macaw that lives in the store. I don't agree with keeping him in the store (he does get to come out of his cage for a spell when the store closes) but Gene, the owner, believes that the bird, who he rescued 17 years ago, is happier there. Overall the store has a sizable collection of retail items and sells fish, small birds, rodents, and reptiles. They also feature adoptable kittens from SPCA, who are always surrounded by boys and girls and woman, cooing over the cute babies. If I still lived in Ithaca, Pampered Pets wouldn't be my first choice for supplies, but I wouldn't avoid it altogether, either.

Nothing but positive experience. Visited the store where all the dogs were out and about and…read moreinteracting free-range style and in puppy gates. When a puppy had an accident, it was cleaned up immediately. I fell in love with a puppy that was minding his own business and taking a snooze. The employees were very nice and quick to answer questions. The store owner and I and were able to negotiate a price for the puppy. The puppy had long hair and the two times I saw him before taking him home,he never had poop in his fur nor was his hair matted. Took him to my vet a few days later and puppy was fine. The puppy was just neutered and microchipped and no one can believe how sweet he is- and he is a such a very sweet boy. I think being at Holly's and the daily interaction with people helped him to be as social as he is. He is so laid back! Maybe I got a diamond in the rough - but I definitely got a wonderful family puppy and I'm sure - per the contract details - if something went wrong, Holly's would have made it right. Does anyone know what kind of life a pound puppy has? What conditions it was born into or grew up in? A shelter close by has taken in saved South Korea dogs that were meant to be food. So what makes those dogs more favorable to be adopted than a mall dog? They ALL deserve a good home and unfortunately, sometimes, things don't work out no matter where they are purchased from. I never do these review things, but my puppy is a pure joy and people should know there are good experiences on here also. Had I not taken a chance, I wouldn't have this puppy that cracks me up and melts my stress away.

BUYERS BEWARE I…read morevisited Holly's Hounds with my sister in law a few weeks ago. There was a French bulldog there that was either $3,500 or $4,500 I dont remember. Now, being educated in the breed, I can tell that this puppy was very poorly bred. QUALITY french bulldogs start at around $2,500. Let it be known that Holly's Hounds has also been CAUGHT getting deliveries from puppy mills. That's why most of their dogs there are poorly bred and sick. PLEASE PLEASE do not buy your dogs from this place!! Find a reputable breeder, or adopt from a shelter. Let's help stop puppy mills one pet store at a time!
