Let me set the scene up first: It was 9:45pm and my friend dropped her iPhone 5c. To be fair, the screen had already hit the floor months ago and sported a crack in the upper left corner yet it had still been functional. This time it had not been so lucky-- the screen's previous crack worsened; the phone was wholly unresponsive and completely unreadable. It was only showing shades of pink and purple streaks. She couldn't even restart the phone. And it was on 7% battery. Now we could have waited until the next day but my friend had work and not only was her phone her alarm clock but it was also her lifeline and provided her with her only mean of transportation. We needed it fixed asap and at this time only 2 places were still open- both were going to close at 10pm. I found iTechRepairs on Yelp and called asap. David, the phone technician himself, answered right away and I stated the problem and the fact that I was 20 mins away and asked not only if he would still be available but also if he would have time to fix it today (I was expecting a cold 'no' but had to ask regardless). He said we could still come and it would take 30 minutes or less. I unfortunately hit a delay on the road and at 10 I was still 20 mins away and called again to apologize for being late, holding him up and asked if I was still able to come in for the repair. My friend at this time is in tears. David, a true gentlemen, states that it's fine and says that he will wait. This guy is an angel. The address on Yelp led us to a neighborhood, which was unexpected and a little confusing at first-- his office is located inside a house with unreserved parking next door. I give him a call when I get there and he comes out and takes a look at the phone, notes the problems and tells us it will be fixed in 15-30 mins and cost $70. We agree wholeheartedly (I was expecting something around $120-$200 for a screen repair and a longer waiting period). David sent a text when he was finished (he seriously only took 30 minutes!) and my friend, this time crying tears of relief, was able to pay with her credit card. There's a 30 day warranty as well (not that we will need it). The results: The screen was beautiful, sleek and brand new. The phone itself ran flawlessly. David even cleaned the outside of it and allowed it to charge up a bit before returning it. New battery lasted today SO MUCH BETTER than the old battery that came with the phone two years ago. Only regret is that I didn't go to David sooner. Will be taking other devices to him. Whenever I would talk to people, I could barely hear them so there was something wrong with my ear speaker.
