You'll need to complete the liability waiver online before renting. There are two unisex public restrooms nearby. Service: Fast and efficient. No wetsuits are provided. The rental includes only a kayak, paddle, and life jacket. Bring your own water, snacks, hat, sunscreen, swimwear, and water shoes or sandals. Dress expecting to get a little wet. Swimsuits or shorts work well in warm weather, while lightweight layers are better on cooler days. Avoid cotton since it stays wet and can make you feel cold. Rental Policies: Cancellations made within 48 hours of your reservation or no-shows are charged the full rental fee. Rescheduling is allowed between 14 days and 48 hours before your reservation. We paddled from Black Miners Bar to the Folsom Prison water boundary ("the wire") and back. The round trip was about 5 miles and took us around 2 hours at a moderate pace. ***WARNING***DON'T***GET***RIPPED***OFF*** Ok so I'll…read moreStart with What we Purchased and what we wanted and was supposed to receive and did not receive and why I warn you about getting ripped off. We came to Brothers boats because they were one of the few new Crestliner Dealers around and we wanted a new boat for Multi Species fishing vessel because we Fish mostly the Ca Delta for Black Bass, Striper, Sturgeons and Salmon, But predominantly Black Bass because I am a Tournament Angler that focuses on Black Bass and I Fish at least 1-2 Tournaments each month all over California and other States as well. So we decided to go with The Crestliner 1950 Fish Hawk with a Mercury 175 Verado that runs great so far tops out at around 45mph fully loaded wish it was faster so I should of went Bigger on the motor maybe but after all my Add ones for electronics and all that I was already sitting at almost $70K which is already nuts but this was going to be the Last Fishing Boat I would ever own My retirement present to myself, I've never owned anything like it before I was so happy and couldn't wait. And this is where it all goes down hill from here. I wanted all the top of the line Electronics on the market and It all to pair up to my 36v 112 Minnkota Ultrex with the iPilot capabilities so I went with a (Humminbird Helix G3N 12 Mega + Si) at the console and a (Humminbird Helix G3N 12 Mega + DI) at the Bow upfront with the trolling Ultrex Trolling motor that was supposed to also have the built in Mega + transducer & when the boat was all finally finished we noticed tons of issues. (1.) The Humminbird Helix 12 at the console was not Side Imagine not even Down imagine it was a G1N the oldest and the cheapest and only had gps and 2D capabilities even though they charged us almost $3000 for it and a hefty install fee even though it was the wrong one and they only sell for barely $1k even cheaper now. (2.) Same issue with Humminbird at the Bow the gave us an old Gen 1 model with only 2D Capabilities but yet charged us for the most expensive models on the market so they ripped us for over $3000 at least on those alone. (3.) Trolling motor Was also Gen 1 that only had the old 2D transducer & not the new Mega built in transducer like it was supposed to be. (3.) They didnt network all the electronics together with the iPilot system at all even though we were charged for it & had to pay extra on our own and did it myself, again even though this was all in the final price with all my add-ons. (4.) Never installed the new Mercury Smart Craft Vessel View which was supposed to be installed, so we can't see how many hours is on the boat or anything else, so again this is another added expense we will have to do on our own if we want it even though it was added and charged for. (5.) Bluetooth Stereo never worked & even after multiple repairs never fully fixed still shorts out probably because of inexperienced installation job or installer they have. (6.) Wash Down System Never worked. (7.) Large Livewell insulation falling apart before ever used. (8.) Terrible Installation job on just about everything they touched there at Brothers boats wires are all Clumped up and not cleanly hid away. In my own opinion I think these guys don't know much about Fishing boats and maybe they only focus more on recreational Ski boats Tow boats and such but I still wouldn't trust them on those either at this point because as of today they finally took back 1 of the Humminbirds and gave us a G2N DI Mega which is still not the correct one but they obviously knew they messed up and got all the wrong electronics I they upgraded 1 of them but not even to the correct upgrade we originally wanted and paid for and we still have the old model trolling motor and the wrong Humminbird at the bow. I just wanted what we paid for and originally asked for that's it even though they over charged for everything and charged install fees for stuff they never even installed and charged us for the Latest premium top electronics but gave us the oldest cheapest models available. Now I'm not sure if all this happened because they were scamming us from the get go or trying to over charge and take advantage of us, or if it's just because they have Zero to no knowledge about fishing boats and the electronics that go along with them but they even told me personally that they have never installed Humminbird electronics before that the only depth finders and gps sonar units they have ever installed before was Lowrance units which is strange to hear from a Dealer of Aluminum fishing vessels since Humminbird is one of the most popular electronic system on the market. So until my vessel is corrected and fixed how it was supposed to be I will not be promoting this Dealer but the exact opposite and I will be doing my best to detour business and help someone from making the same mistake of getting scammed or ripped off by this Dealer. So do yourself a favor and steer clear.

Finally,,, Brothers eventually responded with a fuzzy, over the edge price. Brothers were $40.000 to $50.000 higher than other dealers and had no clue on the options nor how to set the boat up. Their heart just isn't in it. Brothers wants to sell out of their lot weary and dated, depleted dealer stock. Forget ordering the boat ya want the way ya want it, it'll never happen with Brothers Boats. The boat we wanted is an all new design. The only way to get one is to order one from the factory. Our new cruiser will be delivered in early May at $50.000 cheaper than Brothers wanted.

On a recent mild sunny winter weekend afternoon, I visited the Halsey Forebay fishing access area…read more It's a water reservoir that's occasionally stocked with trout and crawfish. It's managed by PG&E. The reservoir is a lake with shallow rocky edges. It's just for casting fishing, no humans or animals should go into the water. The access and parking is FREE. And as always, anglers 16 and older need a CA fishing license to fish. I didn't fish here. I looked about and soaked in the sights though. It was rusticly beautiful. However the perimeter doesn't have any shade trees. But vibes were super quiet, I call it library fishing. Shhhh. As I walked about the perimeter of the lake, I noticed folks were quiet even amongst their own groups. Even the elementary school age children there were super quiet. An incredible feat. QuietPlace. And about the fishing situation, not much luck with the anglers that day. Stock was low. Near the parking lot is a short concrete pier with fishing rod holders. This is closest to the water shed. The picnic area is across the watershed. To get to the area from the parking lot, you will have to walk, on a narrow steel grate walkway, over the watershed. The rushing water provides for a dizzying visual effect. The picnic area is set back enough from the lake so if you bring the kiddos, this is the area where they can go about hooting n hollering. The area has 3-4 concrete picnic tables and a several bbq pits. It's first come, first serve. This area is not paved, dirt packed; shaded with big growth trees. Plus let me tell you I learned the hard way that the walking path doesn't connect fully around the lake. I don't recommend attempting the mythical loop. The path is mostly gravel with the other parts being dirt. Watch where you step; there was a lot of poop along the trail. There is a stretch of the path that ends and funnels you out to the narrow bike lane on Christian Valley Road near Bancroft Road. There is no adjacent room to the side of the bike lane, only a chain link fence. Cars are going 50plus miles a hour inches away from you; and they are on a curve. So wait until traffic clears for a significant distance to hightail yourself across that stretch which runs about 50 feet. Don't try to walk with cars coming at you; don't risk getting impaled by a side view mirror or worse. There is a paved parking lot and a public restrooms with vault toilets. Sorry ladies, I can't provide any additional info about the restrooms. As always, I try my best to avoid public park restrooms. But at least they have a restrooms. And to add the landscape of area doesn't provide for any natural discrete spots to answer the call of nature.

It's gorgeous out here…read more.. We've been fishing at Halsey Forebay Picnic Area quite a few times now. We've caught trout and crawfish! Along with some gnarly mosquito bites. You can pull in and park in a parking space where it leads right up some picnic benches. Just beyond that, a l is a fence with holders for your pole. About 10-12 of them lined up. If you are fishing here, this is where having a 2nd and 3rd pole comes in handy - just be sure to get your license for that!! The water current starts off strong over here and, depending on what you are using, could float downward towards our into the next person's line, so use wisely! Figure it out! On this cool evening, we were catching them left and right. Everyone fishing here is so friendly. It's fun to meet people and see what they're using. When the sun goes down, and most of the heat goes away, Halsey Forebay becomes a sight for sore eyes... as I said... so gorgeous

Now the down fall was their was only a port of potty bathroom and no faucet water. Their happen to be a lot of bees but I think that could be normal. Also, the ride down is really rocky and should probably be paved or at least put down a full gravel road. Overall I like this campground j just need to be more prepared but im not sure if I would spend the night being their isn't showers.

The area is clean and the bathrooms are not horrible. The river is really fresh and runs fast. I like coming down with my friends and swimming in the river for the day. The rangers were nice and we had a ton of fun. Perfect for small groups or those who want to be farther from the crowds. If you take two or more cars, be sure to fill out the day passes for each. Don't fill out one with all the license plates, each car needs it's own. Perfect for a chill day at the river.
